We accidentally mistake people pleasing with being likeable while the two are not interchangeable. We do not have to be liked by everyone in order to be successful. It is crippling to be surrounded by people who think their acceptance or validation is the key to our success. It is so toxic because people use what they don't like to justify their mistreatment of us. It is degrading and demeaning, but this perspective is refreshing. Thank you for sharing this needed to hear it!

I love your podcast Deshauna! But honestly, I'm 27 and I already don't really care who doesn't like me for whatever reason they've made up in their head not to like me. I used to care a lot but I don't anymore. I know what kind of person I am. I know what I bring to the table in a friendship. It's very freeing to not care anymore.
