@@joedoe2672 You are correct, sir. It is a very strange setup. The dog, sort of mimicking a woman torch singer, seductively lying across the piano. Wouldn't it have been more appropriate, and even a bit charming, if the dog had sat next to the child on the piano bench? Or, on the floor, near her, like the dog that he is.

Emilie did an outstanding job with this piece. Not only did she play without sheet music (something I, as an adult, struggle to do), but she also played with a maturity well beyond her years, giving the right dynamic feel to the song. Thank you for sharing, and I hope she keeps up the great work!
Once you memorize the song, its actually easier than playing with the sheets.
@Olivia I have been playing three instruments for over 50 years. For certain pieces I still have the sheets up. While not looking at them continuously, being able to see the beginning of patterns, and the lead-ins to changes keeps the piece moving as it should. And...there is much more on the sheets than just notes.

Moon River was a favorite of my mother's. She was a music teacher and taught it to all of her students. Emilie's dad has taught her well.. She plays beautifully. Even though I'm sobbing, thank you for the memories, sweetheart❤️
We had the sheet music and I piddled around with it...Mom was a wonderful pianist but when I asked if she'd teach me she flat refused. "I'd yell at you too much." Fair, I suppose
My mom liked that tune too. I taught myself to play it on the guitar when I was a kid. I still remember her smiling and saying, "Oh! Moon River." That song helped me to learn to read sheet music.(Which I'm still doing) The song was not so old in those days.
One of my favorites, for certain ! I bow to this young lady for her beautiful execution of a timeless piece.

That's the most peaceful, blissful, serene and tranquil 2 minutes I've experienced in the longest, longest time.
I can tell Sharky felt as lulled and calmed as I did.
However, I just have to say, I would PAY to hear this budding pianist for anything she could put out there today...she did a most beautiful job with Moon River.
You are wrong. Sharky is in PAIN. That is him tolerating the pain. Not bliss. Dogs have extraordinary hearing and being forced to hear that up close...you can see him twitching his ears and closing his eyes...in PAIN. They are not humans.

Sharky is nearly going to fall asleep at some points, while the music is beautyfully played ... but it's a perfectly normal : when you play some quiet and beautifil music to a dog, he feels so relaxed that he decides to take a nap 😁 ♥
