That movie is so underrated. One of Will Ferrell’s best performances!

If you watch Ditka's "A Football Life" it's not surprising because in the 60s/early 70s he wasn't called "Iron Mike" for nothing. One of the most touching parts is when he thought he was washed up after the Bears had traded him to Philly, and his body was beat up and he had started hitting the sauce hard, and then one day out of the blue Tom Landry called Mike and said that he traded for him. Tom said "i don't know if you can still play, but we took a chance on you and hope that you can take a chance on yourself" (or something like that), and it was exactly what he needed, and Mike just kicked it back in from there. Even Staubach said he wouldn't want to mess with Mike, and in his prime Roger Staubach was a hell of a lot tougher than most ppl would think, and anyone who played with him would vouch for that.

Including myself, my family are military and my grandfather was in a special branch of the British naval commandos in WWII - his records are still sealed today. He lied about his age to enlist - got in at 14. He was leading raids into Germany at 18. Got his leg blown off on Xmas Day when he was 19. Crawled back on to the allied side of the lines and was then put in a morgue for 24 hours by his own side, because they thought he was dead.
With one leg, he had the world's top outdoor stunt act in the 60's and appeared in movies like Ben Hur as a stuntman. He hunted crocodiles in Australia in 69-70. In his mid 60's, I watched him monoeuvre his way down a steep driveway on his false leg, to a neighbours party. 1/2 way down he fell and dislocated his shoulder. He wrapped his elbow around his knee and yanked the shoulder back into the socket. Got up and walked into the party like nothing happened. Spent the night drinking and dancing with his friends. That era was different. You might think you are tough.....you aint...
