I'd say that this season, S7, and the original S1 closing theme tune (not the edited version from S4's closing theme tune) were the best closing theme tunes used on The Smurfs.

The Smurfs 6th season was my favorite because of the closing credits and some episodes like Don Smurfo, Crying Smurfs, Futuresmurfed, Dr. Evil and Mr. Nice and Gargamel's Dummy

@2000rubs The characters were created for comic strips in Belgium. They had similar art styles, the same thing goes for the character Marsupilami which was acquired by Disney some years later.

Yep, the puter animation was done by Toei Animation, who also did the animation to the 1st 3 1/2 seasons of Muppet Babies, The 1987 eps. of The Jetsons, Foofur, among shows.

I thought about something here. The closing theme used in this clip here is actually a portion of the Smurfs opening credits seen on the original, unedited Seasons 5-7 opening credits on its original NBC broadcasts and on some International Boomerang and Cartoon Network reruns.

I Would love to see the season 5 to season 9 opening credits as well as closing credits.

Post-1988 prints ruin the H-B logos. Why? The Taft bylines on them are chyroned out, so all we see is the Hanna-Barbera name and the respective corporate marks.
