this past year, my routines have changed and ive been off course for the past year or so! but i have to take it one day at a time.. I love this video! thank you! and you are doing awesome!
You're doing an exceptional job🎉as a new writer; there's no question that you'll find the right story genres that'll exploit your incredible writing talents! I've been truly blessed with a remarkable photographic memory that helps me write classic fantasy stories that'll be remembered forever🤯
I will always support you girl! You gotta go with what you love doing even if it is switching projects. :) I'm in the same boat. I've been stuck on my YA romance with the enemies to lovers trope. I'm thinking of switching to cozy contemporary with a western romance instead for now, because it is something easy to work on while I'm dealing with all this school stuff and it would be something I wouldn't have to think about a lot of world building that comes with fantasy. I still want to write, I just am probably gonna take a break on this one for now too. :)
Thanks Grace, I appreciate you my friend! 😭 I support switching genres completely. Sometimes that is what we need, what the story needs, and getting experience trying a different genre is never a bad idea 😉 I think that a lot of what goes on in our personal lives has an impact on our creativity, and unfortunately we just don't have time (or energy) we need to dedicate to a complex fantasy story. We still want to write and enjoy the process, but we have to switch to something that is less demanding. Good luck if and when you make the switch. Please let me know how it goes for you ❤️
Fantasy is hard! There are so many intricate parts and so much world-building, it's so easy to be overwhelmed by it! I've tried to write fantasy multiple times and have had to take breaks from it. Absolutely nothing wrong with switching it up to something that brings you joy, especially when life gets crazy. It will always be there when you're ready to return to it!
It is tough! And that's not implying that it is easier to write other genres because writing a novel is hard in general! But I agree that sometimes we have to take breaks from it, and that's totally fine 😊 you're absolutely right Maddie, that story will be ready whenever I go back to it!
Creativity is more fun when you let it be fluid, Autumn! Don't ever feel bad whenever you feel like jumping boats. This channel is here to document your journey, whatever it'll end up being. And we're here for YOU! 😊❤
I first found you and Sarah around the same time and I’ve been writing thrillers so so happy to see your progress and everything on this switch. Welcome. We have cookies and gripping suspense
Cookies? Gripping suspense?! Two of my favorite things. That doesn't sound questionable, right? I can trust you...RIGHT. You're definitely not trying to lure me anywhere...👀😂
None of us will be disappointed. In the end, you gotta write what brings you joy, right? I hope this story does that for you through to the end. And I love your comment about having your whole future to write and publish. That's true about us all, there's no race. And with that, I'm going to walk down to the lake with my laptop and write more of my (excessive LOL) first draft. The end is near, I see it!! 😬 As for genres, right now, I'm digging contemporary with a romantic arc. What I don't like writing? Mysteries, thrillers, high fantasy. 😆 My imagination isn't that good!
Exactly 👏 we gotta do what brings us joy. When I read books, I can always tell when an author is writing something that they are deeply passionate about. I want my writing to be that way too! It's not a race ❤️ we move at our pace! Thank you for always being so encouraging! Walking down to the lake to write sounds lovely! I hope you were able to get some good words in ❤️
@@AutumnAshleigh I did! Went down there 3 times since Sunday and got in over 5K. I'm over 157K now 😁 but closer to the end than my last novel. I'd like to type 'the end' by 30 Sep. 😳
It can be so difficult sometimes! But I honestly like not having to report every little thing in the vlog. I enjoy talking about my writing, but some times I like to keep private, you know? 🙂
I'm def a high fantasy girlie. I actually can write all sorts of fantasy stories, and some contemporary, non-fantastic fables, but I usually err to the more surreal. I also almost always write romantic subplots in it 🤧 I don't write scary stories or those that need me to make up elaborate plots, like detective ones and such 🫥 Too much of a hassle...

Good for you - follow your joy!
My favorite genre to write is sapphic romance
Thank you! 🥰 Ohh! I'm intrigued! Do you have any published work yet????

Of course we're not disappointed!
Thank you Emma! 🥰🤗
Oo~ I am NOT fed up with you starting new projects. What I love is watching writers excited about a project. Rooting for you full force!
Thanks Jade 🥰 I love hearing about writers sharing their journeys and discovering what they love and don't love to write about!

@AutumnAshleigh It's easy to root for you, you're lovely! 😘 Much love from Brazil! 🇧🇷

Same. Vlogging and writing (deeply) is so impossible for me.

@@AutumnAshleigh I definitely do know ♥️ and that’s ok!
Omggggg!! Welcome to the dark side. We have red herrings and plot twists! :) Excited to follow this new journey for you as a thriller writer!!
Hey Cody and many thanks 😍 pretty excited to dive deeper in this genre and test out the waters. Can't wait to share more about this journey in future!
