Every time you post I’m always excited to see where you decide to play. I’m from the area and love seeing how you do on the same courses I deal with on a weekly basis. On top of recording a 9 min video for 9 holes every shot (good and baad). I appreciate the great and honest content! Keep them coming I’ll be here for the journey👍
I completely agree with you about the hybrid. If you ever fall out of love with a club in your bag then get rid of it. Confidence is key in golf and if you don't feel confident using a certain club more than likely you will not hit a good shot with it. One thing i will say is make sure you get FIT for a new club wether that be a new hybrid, utility iron or 7w. If you do get fit make sure the fitter talks to you about shaft weight and swingweight 👍🏾👊🏾
I feel that comment about the 4H. I stopped carrying a 3W in my bag for several years because I could never get a good shot up in the air. I found a club with a couple degrees more loft (probably about standard for a 4w, but it only had the loft marking on it) and it was a night-and-day difference. I put an oversized grip on it and I like it even more. Ironically, my 4H is one of the most reliable clubs in my bag. I can almost always count on it for hitting a solid shot, and it's becoming my go-to club for getting through trees (I hit a short chip under all the branches instead of trying to get up and through or over the branches, if I have any doubt about being able to hit over them.) Take some time at the driving range to work with it, and if you can't get comfortable with it, swap it for something else...a 7W, a 3I or 4I, whatever you find that gives you the same kind of yardage, and you can hit confidently. There's a lot to be said for just going out and playing for fun, and not worrying about the score...it's easy, especially as a high handicapper, to get frustrated if you're caught in a string of bogeys and doubles, and they can just pile up and take over those back corners of your mind. Just going out and having fun is a great refresher.
Appreciate the advice! I’m definitely close to getting rid of my 4H but I do want to give it a chance and practice with it. We’ll see what happens in 2024. No matter what, I will always have fun with this game, that is a priority.
I can relate to recording on the course as a solo golfer. Its a mess in my head on hole 1-3 but after a few shots its never a problem

I really appreciate that! Thanks for watching and commenting. Hope to see you out there one of these days.

Good advice about getting fit. That’s where I’ve gone wrong with a lot of my club purchases
