I was watching Ophelia’s Soapery yesterday and the exact same thing happened to her! She had pinecone embeds and they melted. It was a hot mess. But you guys both came up with pretty much the same solution and worked it out in the end. Bravo!
What I love about you is that you show your failures. After all these years soaping great soapers have their “oppsy” moments like everyone else who don’t have as many years experience. It’s all about how you handle it and how creative you can be. You are an inspiration... thank you!
These came out beautiful! The best part of making soap, is learning to adapt when all seems lost. You feel like you failed, but it gave you an opportunity to learn and grow. ❤️
This video shows that Ellen Ruth is a very good teacher! Have a wonderful holiday Ellen I appreciate all the videos this year and you have totally inspired my soaping journey. I now have soaps, body butter, lip balms and many more items. My wish for you is to have a great year of teaching and inspiring. I know I'm not talking for myself alone but all persons who are following your channel.
You always look like you are having such fun, creativity reigns...that’s the joy of creating usable art...life happens it’s what we do when things don’t turn out as expected...as an artist myself I have had plenty of practice with those days myself...pushes us out of our comfort zones ...lessons for more creativity 👌🤗
Thank you for showing what melted embeds look like. I heard other soapers say embeds melted in their soap but I never saw what that looked like or even how to fix it. Your adaptability is amazing. The final soap is beautiful. You would never know it was an oops moment.
Thank you for sharing this video. Trouble shooting and knowing how to go about fixing mistakes and not wasting soap are important lessons to learn. They turned out great (the hanger swirl is gorgeous)! 😊❤️🧼👍🏼🍊
I love the colors and the save was great! The little blooper at the end was funny lol, thanks Ellen and I think I would love the smell of this scent 😍!
I just wanted to say Thank You! It just goes to show us newbies, we can recover over our mistakes. You showed us how to make a positive issue out of this. Job well done!
Oh Ellen, theyre just darling! I loved watching you save the soap mistake. I'm new here and you have already captivated me. I'm an aspiring soaper and I have enjoyed every moment watching you so far. Thank you! Your creations are all so beautiful!
Thanks, I needed some laughs. Spent the last week making leather necklaces when I would rather make soap. Hitting refresh on the order processing page for a batch of oils non stop too. LOL
It must be a weather thing, another soaper had the same problems with some melt and pour pinecones. Beautiful butterfly 🦋 💜 ❤ 💖 these are beautiful 😍. Wonderful recovery! You always look at the bright side!
Nice trouble shooting and beautiful end product. I’m a beginner candle/soap maker. A while ago I placed m/p embeds after the 6 week cure. Used clear m/p as the glue for my flower embeds. Worked out great.
Absolutely beautiful!!! Sometimes the accidents are a blessing in disguise. I've only used the melt and pour that is like cold processed. Forget what the actual name is. Get it @ Brambleberry. I just love your video's. Always brighten my day! Wishing you and your family a very Merry Christmas!!!❤🎄❤
My 4th of July soap had M&P stars inside of them and they partially melted as well... They were good for the most part, but lesson learned for sure! Gorgeous comeback!
I am obsessed with your videos. I've been binging them! I love your style and you're so helpful. Honestly thankyou so much! I've learned so much! Can't wait to eventually make my own CP soap!
Great job saving your beautiful soap. If you watch Ophelia's Soapery, the same thing happened to her recently. By the way, that fragrance is a favorite of mine and the scent sticks like glue in CP soap!!
I can't WAIT to get my Heritage Mold. They seem a bit slow on shipping out but I've heard such wonderful things about them from soapers like you and others. I got the double one. I'm not sure if it's tall or not but I'm ready to move on to making larger batches so I can build up my stock! I also got their loaf mold cutter thing so I can cut the soap in half to have two loaves! I can't wait to have 22 bars instead of just 11. HAHA! This is such an addictive new hobby for me! All I want to do is make soap! XD Edit: I meant to ask you something. Do you have a video of how you make these embeds with melt and pour and what kind you use? I tried it last weekend and used goat's milk M&P and the first batch was a disaster. It hardened up soooo super fast. The next batch I made, I used a double broiler type method and they came out a bit better. They still started skinning over super fast. Like even before I could get the little embed mold bits filled. Would love to learn that from you since I LOVE your channel so much. :-) Edit 2: I don't think the top looked bad at all but newish soaper. You may have been able to pipe each loaf and then add the embeds again maybe? I am probably totally wrong. Either way, these turned out so adorably!
Such beautiful videos. I really appreciate the quality of the videography. Bloopers and all. LOL Are you self taught at soap making Ellen or did you have mentors? I really admire your skills and creativity. I look forward to each new creation.
Thanks for watching! I learned to make soap over 15 years ago thru books and trial & error (no youtube then)... I love making soap, it's such an adventure everytime!
LOVE your channel, so relaxing and you are a true artist. You inspired me to try soap making and I am looking at scales and noticed yours has an AC adapter wire coming out of the back. I am having a hard time finding one with that feature that isn't commercial grade and expensive. The one I do see online does not sell me. Would you be willing to share the make and model of yours? Be blessed! >
Great save. But the actually the melted version wasn't too bad and reminded me of a cranberry cobbler. Just curious, do you make your own melt and pour or purchase it?
This is what i love about you Ellen, you’re so positive, energetic and very resourceful. Thank you for this…
Thank you so much!
I was watching Ophelia’s Soapery yesterday and the exact same thing happened to her! She had pinecone embeds and they melted. It was a hot mess. But you guys both came up with pretty much the same solution and worked it out in the end. Bravo!
Yes, I saw her video and was laughing because I had my video scheduled to come out with the same issue. I love her pinecones!
Same here just saw ophelia’s video

Thank you 🥰 yes, I definitely still have my oopsy moments 🤣💕
We all make mistakes and it nice to see you flip to no waste recovery. 💕

Thanks for the “how to make lemonade out of lemons” soap lesson! I love your videos and always learn something!
Thanks for watching!

Thanks 💕 I was so bummed when they melted, but I actually love the "plan B" better ❣️
I always say, soap has a mind of its own. Thank you for showing us how you overcome challenges. That's a better word, right 😊?
So true! Thanks for watching!

Learning how to fix mistakes is a primary step in soap making. One which I am going through now lol! Thanks for showing us how it's done!
You are so welcome!

Great save!!! We are still laughing from your blooper 😂 The frosting fixative really makes the embeds "pop"- we love it! Thank you for all you do!
🤣 glad you enjoyed it 😂💕❣️
Turned out beautifully! Just remember there are no mistakes only happy accidents. I 😃 🙂 lol God bless
Yes! Happy accidents, I like that!

Beautiful butterflies 🦋 and gorgeous colours. Yer nailed it again darlin! ❤️🧡🥰

I was talking to you as you were putting them on top…”don’t put it through gel Ellen!”
😂😂😂😂
It turned out beautiful regardless!
Nice save!!

Yes 😅 I saw her video too, hey at least I've got good company 🤣
I still haven't made a cranberry and orange soap yet, I'm not sure why I haven't lol, I love that scent ❤🧡
You should, they smell so good!

You'll love your soap mold! I'm not a MP expert by any means, I use embeds once in a while, but not too often...
Absolutely love this bar!
Thanks 💕

Thanks!
Ellen I hope you and your family are safe where you live, I’ve just watched the news reports on the devastation of the Tornado in your region. Avril
Thank you for caring! It was an interesting night in our area... Our home is fine, just a few trees down..
Love this vid!!!!
Thanks!

Thanks for watching! The scale I use is in my amazon store link in the description box.
Thank you. Wow, how did I miss that?!? Peace.
Great save. But the actually the melted version wasn't too bad and reminded me of a cranberry cobbler. Just curious, do you make your own melt and pour or purchase it?
I buy my MP from WSP
@@EllenRuthSoap I was wondering with the price increases if you were making your own melt and pour base.
I love mistakes. I make them all the time. 🤣🤣
I guess I didn’t know this could happen. Seen soapers even put M&P inside a loaf. Has this happened to you before?
Yes, it happened to me years ago... Guess I forgot about that..
My fat butt thought this was sushi at first glance lol
Hahaha! Actually a sushi soap would be really cute! Now you've got me thinking...
