    Thank you for your reaction to what has to be my most favourite John Denver song. John was about 27 years old when he wrote this song, which became the title track of his fourth album fior RCA, and in it he shows a perceptive ability to look back on life as only a much older man should be able to do.
    I think RCA had high hopes for this song at one time and maybe it was meant to be an A side that might have made an impression on the pop charts in the early 1970s, but that was not to be.
    While working on the RCA album of the same name John came upon another pairr of singer songhwriters Bill and Taffy Danoff, and he helped them finish a song that they were hoping to pitch to Johnny Cash. John was so impressed with their work in progress, and with the final result, that he wanted to record it with Bill and Taffy and have that song included in his new album.
    Thus it was that the great hit that would emerge from the Poems, Prayers & Promises album was Take Me Home, Country Roads, with Poems, Prayers & Promises hidden away on its B side.

    Such beautiful words and music, and a singer who who in his lifetime brought such pleasure to millions. You were the best John. Sadly missed, but your music will live on. Thank you for the pleasure you gave to me in my life. “ You fill up my senses like a night in the forest “. Lovely words from a great song.
