Today we are reviewing a watch from Baltany, a brand that does a lot of old military homages, with this one being the second most original I have seen. In the world of Submariner homages an homage of a Vacheron Constantin 1921 Historique American is a breath of fresh air!
The watch is spectacular in person and the finish is WAY ABOVE its price point and a step up from their 1926 Oyster I reviewed!!
I like it so much that I decided to keep it in my collection!!
The watch is incredibly thin, especially considering it is an automatic, powered by a chinese Sea-Gull movement and comes with a highly domed sapphire crystal, and one of the most comfortable leather straps I have tried.
With a ridicilously low price, it is a no-brainer if you like the styling, and I have to admit I love it!

I was looking for a good 1921 hommage since I got into watches, nice to see there's finally one. Just ordered the Salmon dial.
Also a stunner, congrats
I really wished they blued all the hands
I just ordered mine! Also the white dial. I'm so stoked, can't wait to enjoy this beautiful timepiece. Hopefully it's as beautifully finished as yours is.
Thank you so much for bringing this to our attention.
I have their 1926 Oyster homage .. I think I might need to get this one too.
Thank you for sharing. Absolutely gorgeous 😍
Great camera work! Thank you Watch Geek
Going to do exactly as you suggested. Have bought the watch and if the design really grows on me I will buy the VC.
If i see this watch, i would not even think this was a homage lol. Looks so good and the name “baltany” isnt bad. It sounds real
Thanks for reviewing, you showed off the watch very well. I have ordered the centre seconds version for two reasons. First the small seconds dial numbers annoy me, the 60 is aligned with the case not the dial, which is weird. Strangely the original VCs didn't have this, but the modern versions do. The second reason is the Miyota should be more reliable and accurate, and also makes the Baltany more homage than copy. Both are beautiful watches though 👍
Great watch . Thank you.
I just got the salmon dial one
After watching this video, I put one in my shopping cart. I am definitely gomma review that one 😁👍🏽
I'm shocked i didn't know about this homage while the 1921 is one of my grail watches, i need this one badly
I was going to buy it but Baltany stopped shipping to my country one week before de 11.11 sale, what a shame!
Amazing review! I can't wait this one to arrive in Serbia in two days :D.
Would like to see your review of 1926 Oyster ;)
Happy holidays!
Already did the 1926, before this one, it's gorgeous but not as well made as this
Astonishingly beautiful watch!
Do you guys know any other brands of cool hommage watches? I'm looking for a quality Panerai-lookalike
Could you advise which is a better proposition Manual or Automatic? thanks
I wish they made a 36.5/36mm ‘cause the 38mm will wear like a 40mm for sure
Great video
Very beautiful indeed 😊
*Nice timepieces from this brand. Seriously though, how do you tell the time: by the hands pointing to the unorthodox numbers or solely by the hands in their traditional places? I wouldn’t know whether to disregard the shifted numbers on the dial or what…..*
*What are they off by, 15 degrees?* 🤷🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️
You're supposed to wear this watch on the inside of the wrist, so that you can easily read it while driving/flying.
@@YoManSan*My man!!! 👊🏾*
*Upon watching this video, I went and pulled up videos about the VC. What you said was confirmed in those videos. The VC was manufactured for the American market at the turn of the introduction of the automobile for the common man and woman. What made the **_drivers/pilot’s watch_** usage hit home for me was when the videos mentioned drivers having their hands at 10 and 2 o’clock. That made perfect sense, especially when wearing the timepiece on the underside (🤮) of the wrist.*
Well done Baltany 👏😊
This is not the Baltic though.
@@YoManSan 👍
Would you recommend a copy of a G-Shock square if the only visible difference was the brand name?
I'm not sure what the acid test is but that's as good as any...
No, squares are so cheap it is foolish to buy a fake or a copy
@@WatchGeek Ok you got me, a MRG square then?
You know what I meant! ✌️
@@anonimushbosh Not everyone can afford Swiss mechanical watches. "Hommage" watches don't hurt traditional watch makers, as they don't pander to the same markets. Anyone can afford a G-Shock, even expensive ones. Very few can afford 20k bucks watches.
Buying hommage watches is a good entry into mechanical watches, especially if you want to tinker yourself.
@@montre-moi I said Gshock because of this channel not because it's a good example but the market for copies enables the manufacturing of fakes (because they're made using the same equipment etc) and another overlooked factor is the fun of wearing an iconic watch is spoiled for a lot of people because the assumption will often be that the watch is not real, or worse and the wearer of a genuine whatever is trying to pass off a fake.
Lots of pros & cons...
@@anonimushbosh I can agree about the equipment part and how it may enable fakes. But nobody will think you wear a fake or hommage watch if you can afford the real deal.
Also, most hommage watches copy really old designs, which have been copied by or inspired watchmakers for decades. So why should anyone stop themselves from doing the same?
Great video as usual but please, please lose the repetitive music.😱
What is the average accuracy over 24 hours ?
Beautiful watch. But I am not sure if I would buy a copycat.
Well a chance of me getting a "real" one is slim to none, so.... 😂
@@WatchGeek I would rather appreciate it from afar.
Close enough to what Baltic are doing. It’s in the name, I guess
This is like a Pontiac Fiero with a lambo kit.....
I rather buy the real deal or not get one at all.
😂
ever try to open the case and cover that ugly name design?
