I have 2x polk audio signature elite es55 on front and es35c on center. Now need subwoofer. Surrounds are old from LG but no need better for now. Great system in 20 or 25 m2 room. If have more than 30 m2 Es60 is better. Great for music too in stereo. I put fronts in bi-amp mode with yamaha rx-v6a and still can do 5.1 with that connection. Best sound for that money. Es35c is great if don't have much space below TV. Just keep it to ears high to sounds the best. It's important.
Hey there, if you are looking for a budget stereo, watch this: 1. Amplifier: - ruclips.net/video/GkPw9HwHkOI/видео.html - ruclips.net/video/gCclaPzFKhw/видео.html I would personally buy Bookshelf Speakers - amzn.to/3IMwucN All the best!
I bought a yamaha home theatre in a box,I've upgraded the speakers and subs, and before the upgrade it was far better than a soundbar which is what I had before. The systems that should be avoided is the dvd/bluray surround packages. An actual AVR package is steering the customer in the right direction.
@scottpryorsz28 so as far as dialogue intelligibility is concerned, before the upgrade, your centre channel speaker sounded clearer than your sound bar? Perhaps that is more to do with the quality of the sound bar. Apart from stereo music and giving, the effects are only virtual. Imo a $500 soundbar is going to sound better than a $500 home theatre in the box. However, if one happens to get the audio bug and therefore wish to take it to the next level. You're quite right. An AVR would be the way to go.

Never go with satellite speakers or home theatre in a box. One would be better off sticking with soundbar
