Might have to pick this up. I regularly fly a rmrc recruit v2 and this looks like it could be a good bigger brother with that larger battery
seems a fairly simple setup.decent speed allso it seems.i am yruly hooked on wanting one.despite all the flying we do with the kids and then our group we have on facebook i never seen one fly in pearson.keep up the great work buddy.
Thanks Lee. Great review, albeit I think biased. Unfortunately never at this price. In a couple of years when someone gets the dusty leftovers maybe I will buy it at a third of the price.

Looking good ugly but good! Think I know what my next fixings going to be ... if not it will still be a zohd the company has sold me with the last to renditions! great review little bit pricey but i will probably get one i laminate my boxes that i keep they seem to last a lot longer

Do you think the logo in the white foam will cause some "friction" while in the air? I know a nice smooth surface = low amp draw. Maybe it will be negligible though...?

I've used one of those in my Caipirinha build so check out those videos. New iNav 2.1 series starting very soon that covers the software setup as well.. My Patreons will be voting on the FC to put inside this one..
@@Painless360 Looking forward to it Lee. My vote will be for a Micro Vector! I'm on the fence about the looks, and the price is a bit hard to swallow, but if it isn't twitchy on the roll axis with a FC then I might consider one.
Finally someone did a decent preview on this plane. How is the foam quality compared to EPP and EPO foams?
I found it very good. I've had the Dart XL for a while now and it's survived lots and lots of flying. Some people seem to have a bit of a downer on this type of foam, but from my experience it seems to hold up very well indeed.

Hello Lee. Thanks for all your videos. Can you confirm for me if the CG is 10mm in front of the underwing mark or 10mm behind?
Lots of pilotsike it 10mm behind the CG marks. On the marks it is very gentle flying..

Thanks for great video, are there extra wires to the RX and VTX bay in the wing, in the case of how many ?
Three wires into a standard servo cable each side. I've fed back to ZOHD that it isn't enough for those of us using flight controllers with TRAMP/Smart-audio on the VTX and CRSF or S.Port telemetry with the receiver..

I love FPV fixed wing. It's a wonderful way to fly and a completely different experience from flying quads..
@Laurie Bick, go look up the XUAV Mini Talon. Can easily get over that time plus its incredibly cheap to build. Lots of how to videos out there on the topic.
Is ZOHD a different company to XUAV?that front end is like a massive air brake. I'll stick with the original MT for that sort of money I think.

May i use tower servo mg90d for this airframe? Because Im waiting kit version that doesn't include electronic parts, servos and the motor

Is the foam the same density as the DartXL buddy? I was not impressed with the nano talon from ZOHD as foam was so thin a small impact and it explodes! Cheers,
Looks similar. Only time will tell if it survives as well as the XL..

So I’m building one of these using a crossfire micro tx, f-405 wing, flying with a tx12. Having trouble getting my servos and throttle to register through the board. Values change using tx12 but nothing happens on the plane. Any tips?
What module do you have in the radio?

@@Painless360 update. Got ailerons moving. Added the TBs agent light, still Can’t get throttle to unlock.
If the model has an FC or stabiliser most have an ARMING sequence to unlock the motor..
seems like a good platform if it wouldnt be that ugly compared to the older versions

Lee this people in ZOHD will have a huge amount of overstock, no matter how sweet the review is or how good will flight the price is no good, this plane is a 130 US Dollars Max, you can have 2 mini talons for the price of this, no way, people are so mad the ZOHD removed the comments of the community in facebook. Bad marketing move. For a pilot like me that will take a big issue to crash because I'm a advance 3D pilot, the plane will last forever, but for a regular pilot, will mean a crash is around the corner and 186 us dollars is too much. So must people will pass this plane until the price goes around 130 Us dollars. Plus that BEEP is BS, I will see how this plane do in the real world, if I see discoloration and deterioration of the foam during 3 years or more, I will never get one again, I got planes of 30 years in my attic and look like they been pull out of the box.
I agree that for many pilots that price will be a little too high but I'm sure that over time it'll come down. I also fly a RiteWing Mini Drak (£145 with no electronics) and a TBS Caipirinha II (£227 PNP) you could argue that this isn't expensive when compared with those 'premium' frames so it very much depends on how you look at it.There are lots of R/C businesses that have moved from the 'cheap and cheerful' to the more 'expensive' end of the market but only when the products and backup have that quality and extra polish. I wonder if that is what ZOHD is doing - it takes time to move a brand that way with many baulking at the increased price of products in the early stages. It'll be interesting to see how well this model does over the coming months and how the brand develops.. I hope they keep the cheaper products like the ZOHD Dart in the line-up as it's a amazing little FPV flyer for just £60 and the market for the cheaper products will always be bigger. Happy flying!
@@Painless360 The two frames you are referring are premium but overpriced and not many people buy those frames, you do not see them in flying fields that often because of price, there 100's of frames with even more quality in a fraccion of the price, take for instance the AR wings, or the mini talon, even here in the US the horizon hobby opterra when from 200 to 100 dollars because horizon hobby could not sell them. And I do think that ZOHD is going to eat this one in a big way if the do not lower the price. For me personally price is not a issue, but when they going to far I stop, I just got my second Hobbyking Grand Tundra for $223 dollars shipped to my house, and is a 1000 times better that this plane and bigger with lots room and big capacity for load and batteries, and flying performance, and I got it in case of a mishap years from now I still have a replacement. Love you review, is a nice plane and looking forward to see you flight review, the same as Keith too. Cheers from Columbus Ohio. Now they know that the rear lower fins will brake, they should release a 3D printing files in there website for people that will break this often and need to replaced with a more durable material, like TPU and will not add that much weight
