Ahh OK, I know CLA uses those on Drums often, but I always read/heard that he favored the old RED3 and his Shadow Hills Master Bus comp for 2Bus. Does he also use an old Neve Diode bridge comp too? I love them (can't afford them, but I'm assuming this clone won't be too bad), used a few 2254s at Flying Blanket in Arizona years back in the 80s series they have there. Thanks for responding BTW.
I wouldn’t be surprised if he has a ton of old Neve diode bridge comps, he has an absolute treasure trove of gear! From what I understand, CLA uses the Focusrite Red3 more for its box tone, hitting the output transformers for their sound, instead of using the unit for compression. I had access to a Red3 for a little while and it does do something “sweet” to audio just by passing through it alone, and I’d send the signal from there to a C1. That’s cool you’ve used the real deal 2254. AML makes a 500 series remake that gets great reviews.
@@1983petepete *Nods* they look awesome. They're on my list of 500 series units I'd like to try if I can get into the format. I used to own an old Yamaha PM2000, which was like a 32 channel knockoff of an API console, but I've moved to a Pro Tools Ultimate System where I've been doing everything digital lately after downsizing (maintenance, and recalls were just too much). I'm super curious as to why no one has ever made a real clone of the RED3, or why CLA hasn't at least tried to clone the transformer stage then with gain and attenuation (and no compression), out of the Slate plugins my favorite is actually the RED3 emulation, and even as a plugin, it does "something" to the stereo image which really works for LRC mixing for me. Very musical, and dark, even for a digital emulation.
When CLA talks about CLA, CLA does it in the 3rd person.
haahahahaahhaha
I thought you were kidding off his "What's CLA Doing in Spain?" throwaway....until he did it again.
CLA is literally the Nicolas Cage of the music world.
This comment is highly accurate.
🤣
Glad CLA is using Black Lion Audio in "USA" now. That I back and purchase.
This thing sounds amazing
I need this in my life ASAP
Just ordered mine, should be here Wednesday.
Verdict?
how is it??
Looks great!
"CLA loves a good compressor!” - CLA
He sure does!
Looks awsome! Do you know what price it’ll be?
$1.499, already in the stores!!
Nice!!! :)
Is this in the vein of the old Focusrite Red3?
No, this is a diode bridge compressor ala Neve 2254/33609-ish

@@CaryMillerOfficial "The PM2000 is a knockoff of an API console"? I have nothing against the Yamaha, but what do you mean?!
Love the CLA memes brought to us by CLA :D
Awesome stuff
Cool Stuff!
Makes me think of Sly Stallone when i hear him...:)
definitely.
Why does it look like an 1073?
I THINK it’s because it’s based on the Neve 2254, so I guess heritage wanted all their Neve clones to look uniform. Same thing with the HA-609.
