    Editor's Note: My edits were all made to keep the video on one, central topic by editing together relevant commentary from many parts of Hasan's streams to create a storyline that is still followable by the viewer. I also edited in commentary of my own in places, in addition to relevant external information that improves the viewing experience. A lot of edits were made for comedy purposes, or to enhance the comedic timing of certain beats, but never to misrepresent Hasan's point of view.

      Well, they kept a daily journal and they would fill it out with me regularly, then eventually I noticed they stopped, and when I asked they were suddenly not comfortable letting me read it anymore. Much later I found out the reason why (even though it was fairly obvious haha). It is what it is.
      I actually think it's pretty normal, not the cheating part, but writing about it. I think it feels like confessing for some people, and that can be very relieving.

    To simplify my point, one huge huge indication that a self help life coach type person is a fraud or a con artist is if you find out they are mistreating people in their personal life. I’m telling you that’s a big piece of information about a person. To be even more specific, if you are following a straight man who is a self help guru/life coach, and you find out this man regularly mistreats women, it’s not a good sign on his overall honesty. So this huberman may be whatever, but him mistreating multiple women is a bad bad sign for his self help advice.

    • @nizzie16

      I'm on the fence. Yes, being cheated on can be traumatic but it seems like a private thing that's in the realm of gossip that I don't give a fuck about. On its own it could be a societal problem or not, since non-men cheat too. But 5 women indicates something pretty pathological about the guy, I think, in a way that warrants reassessing his platform

      I disagree. While it is a betrayal of trust, you can't tell your partner everything about your current or previous relationship. And it is unreasonable for anyone to be able to withdraw consent because you are unhappy with someone. (I disagree with the morals, but I agree with the legality)

      @@paulhuang2030 if you look at how many men in power are womanizers, how many men in general are womanizers, think about the fact that we have groups like "are we dating the same guy"--this IS a societal issue. of course women cheat too, but not as much and rarely to this degree. plus they don't have male privilege. it will always feel "private" because it happens inside relationships. domestic abuse used to be seen the exact same way, like we should ignore it as a "private matter" within marriage. that changed in the 70s/80s. i'm not saying he should go to jail or something, but we also shouldn't say that it doesn't matter. that normalizes it too much.

    A woman once told me that a man treating women badly doesn’t hurt his reputation at all with most people. Even though one big indication of a straight man being a bad person is him mistreating women. I don’t know this guy I think I have seen his podcast featured on the apple podcast app. But it seemed self help to me and I view self help gurus as bs con artists. So I have never listened to one second of it. I have not read the story about him and I won’t. So I truly don’t care either way, but the defenders of this man just dismissing him possibly mistreating multiple women is a sight to see. The other defense his defenders are putting out is the “media” is out to get this scrappy underdog alt men’s health self help guy and podcaster because he doesn’t use the official channels or because he is helping men, but this man has a lab at Stanford. He works in Stanford using Stanford facilities, students, etc. he has a highly popular podcast. Which company created the podcast, the iPhone, Apple. Podcasts are mainstream as well and he has one of the most popular ones that gets featured on the Apple podcast app. Also the “media” hates me because I’m helping men is part of the defense Andrew Tate is using. It’s obvious bs. His defenders are trying to cast this story as a hit job from the powers that be, but this guy is not an outsider. He is firmly ensconced in the mainstream.

      I don’t think your first statement is true or at least that isn’t my experience with men and women, seems anecdotal and MY anecdotal experience is that I and the people I know weigh people’s character evenly on a case by case basis. To be clear I also don’t care about this dude, my experience with him is I saw a video that he said you shouldn’t sleep with you mouth open, that’s about it lol also to be clear I didn’t and won’t read the article but based on this video it sorta comes off like a highbrow TMZ, it’s just shit slinging or like when right wingers get mad that the new X-men cartoon is too woke when it has always been an allegory for marginalized groups. It’s like, can you believe an A personality type rich narcissist is dating multiple woman?!? What, no way?!? Is the idea of the article, no one should listen to this dude self help advice because he is engaging in morally wrong act? Well, George Washington also owned slaves, it didn’t mean he was a bad general, just a bad person, you know?

      Again I don’t care about this guy. I have not read the article. I do not care. But if you find out a man is lying to 5 or 6 women. I’m just telling you that’s a clear sign that guy is a liar/fraud/bad human. And for damn sure if that guy is a self help guru/life coach and he is mistreating multiple women, his advice is going to be suspect and whatever work he is doing is much more likely to be a con. But if you think it says nothing about him, you just proved the main point of my post.

      Honestly it depends - like if someone cheated on their partner for the most part I think that should be between them and their partner and not something the public delves into. Relationships can be messy, and it's easy to say "well this person cheated, they're a bad person - end of story" but it's not always that straightforward. Yeah cheating is a bad thing to do, but not everybody cheats for the same reason. Sometimes people cheat because they are in an abusive relationship they feel stuck in, but still crave love and affection and wind up seeking it elsewhere. Sometimes people cheat because their narcissistic assholes who don't have any respect for their partner. That being said, there are also situations where cheating can be viewed as a symptom of something larger - like an abusive partner may cheat, and that is one of the ways their abuse plays out in which case I think it's more relevant to the public, especially if it's a repeated pattern of behaviour.

      Like, idgaf if the guy working at arbys has four boyfriends that don't know about each other or that the woman I hired to code my website is a compulsive hoarder because those things are irrelevant to why I'm coming to them, so it's not a reason for them to lose their job.
      Also, importantly, life advice is a grift industry (for example, most of the money made in self help book sales is from repeat customers--meaning people who buy multiple different self-help books because none of them actually work), so these people should always be treated with the utmost suspicion and skepticism.

The article I think tried to that he is also using his methods to manipulate women. If the article was basically an open discussion & left the reader to decide whether or not that’s something you support, then fine. It’s not a shock that he would know how to get women, but like active,y dating 6 different women at the same time vs just being a single dude who gets laid is not the same thing & is worth talking about in my opinion.
    I don’t like how every male monkey brain went straight to "hell yeah man, more power to him" before understanding every aspect of the story.
    I do t think you should feel shame for being single and hooking up with different people or having open relationships but I do think it’s wrong to make some if not all partners think they are the special ones or not be open with them about your intentions because you’re playing with people’s raw emotions & the guy doing it just so happens to be an expert at manipulating the brain… sooo

Huberman for instance made his girlfriends believe they were in monogamous relationships to have sex with them without using condoms, he deceived women into giving him consent in a situation that if they were aware of they wouldn’t have consented. I don’t really know how I feel about the wording of it, but this concept has been used in lawsuits for years now and kinda makes sense.

That being said, I don't think Philion is like this chud, we have seen videos of him before (we being the Hasan community when he would watch his vids) but like all men (including Hasan here) still have blind spots of misogyny, and I think this is one of those cases where both creators are blind and don't understand the concept of how men are given more of a pass on cheating rather than women.

    • @Dimefan91
      @Dimefan91 5 месяцев назад +1

      @@cyberamanda Consent as a concept is fundamentally different from lying/deceiving. It is lying, it is deception, it is violation of trust, and it's wrong, absolutely. But if one is gonna argue it's consent they'd also need to argue that being viciously verbally insulted (which could constitute an assault charge, but not a battery charge) violates consent. Or getting punched in the face during a bar fight also violates consent (both an assault and battery charge). The latter carries with it the same connotation as consent (touch/contact when it's not wanted especially in a criminal context). So, you argue getting punched in the face violates consent laws/ethics right? That this deserves to enter the same conversation as sexual assault and rape on these grounds, correct?

    • @nevadanate4957
      @nevadanate4957 5 месяцев назад +5

      @@Dimefan91 Interesting point, when you compare any other violation to SA people get (perhaps rightfully) upset that you're making an incongruent comparison. The problem is, I think a lot of people are aware at this point that there are tons of layers of SA that are not exactly rape but still bad in terms of being the same category. Cheating does kinda fit into that neatly. Meanwhile your argument is not the strongest it could be because a lot of people do think it's unacceptable to punch random people...

    • @Dimefan91
      @Dimefan91 5 месяцев назад

      @nevadanate4957 See, that's the thing, nobody is explaining why infidelity "fits neatly into the category" of unwanted physical contact in a sexual manner (contact ranging from attention upto and including revenge porn, comments, to physical contact). I opened by saying "spread of STIs" makes this 2 or 3 degrees of separation a valid connection, but that's the most realistic connection one can argue. Again, getting punched in the face fits in "consent to contact" (a consented assault/battery is a fight after all), but that does not fit in the realm of a sexual offense althought it is physical in nature. See what I mean?
