It's always funny to see very serious US politicians interrogating people about where their loyalties lie, for example, "do you have any other passports?" or "have you ever been a member of the Communist Party?". I've yet to hear anyone ask a politician if they are involved in lobbying for Israel? or "as a dual-citizen of Israel and America, where do your loyalties lie?"

26:20. Also, other countries have already got laws to protect against data farming by US social media platforms, Tik Tok is just another platform. The US, on the other hand, is trying to use political means to protect it's own industries from competition...as always, the US is only in favour of the 'free market' when it can suppress any competitive alternative. On an even playing field, the US is often inferior. They need to move the goalposts to win.

0:40 I wouldn't know 'cause you're like the only channel in the Hasanabi Industrial Complex that I can consistently rely on (apart from meme channels like Ostonox and LittleBear, and vod channels).
It frankly shows the priorities of some people with the gross clickbait and such. Which is fine I guess, if that's a way they can make money so be it. But it's kinda awful that a socialist community like Hasan's is this lacking in solidarity.
You could think of opening a donation alternative to the ads, like patreon and such. Your work is genuinely time-saving and handy. I would watch way less Hasan and therefore be less informed on news and pop culture if it weren't for you. And it's always good to have different editors to avoid there being only one voice that controlls the content presented.

The main argument here is that Tiktok has stricter control over their user's private data and the American Government don't like that because they can't directly control what they show to Tiktok's users.

I'm part of the trending down demographic. Not because of Israel, I completely agree with Hassan. I agree with almost all of his takes. I'm just ... Ehh. I don't really like the idea of banning a service like this (as stupid as I find the service to be), but I do have concerns about so much data about Americans being collected by a potentially hostile foreign government.
I think the better way to handle this would have been to pass a federal law providing much stronger privacy protections on all internet platforms, that would prevent TikTok (and Instagram, Facebook, Google, etc.) from collecting and sharing certain data no matter who their owner is, with civil and criminal penalties for violations. Let TikTok operate with whatever ownership they want as long as the follow the data privacy rules; if they don't, go after them same as anyone else would be.
But those sensible regulations might impact the bottom line of *American* companies!
Contrary to what they say, the main goal of any capitalist is to eliminate competition. Ain't no way a US politician will show consistent standard on the topic, especially when they can receive direct donations (or to be more precise - bribes) from Meta, Apple, Alphabet etc. to do the opposite
