      What's most important to me in RPG are Story and Progression, so I have harder time enjoying the game if I can't read, even more so cause I would also need to understand what the skills does otherwise it's just a guessing game.
      That being said... I guess I was less strict with myself when I was a kid cause back than I also played alot of Japan only SRW games, SRW W was one of them, and I'm glad after 15 whole years there's finally a fan full English Translation for that game. Lol XD

    You missed out the DS and PSP remakes of Super Robot Wars OG Saga: Masou Kishin The Lord of Elemental and using footage from Super Robot Wars V for Super Robot Wars Neo? Abit of an odd choice. Like D180223 mentioned be sure to credit those who's footage use and if you're gonna do a list of the games, at the very least do them in release order since Original Generations on PS2 came out 6 months before OG Gaiden.

      Not many at all, most are fan translated from the SNES era down. Some PSX ones have been translated too. There are some new ones that have come out to PC that are in English though. A lot of it is just licensing issues with the Anime's involved. You wont be seeing any official Macross featured games coming out here in English. I don't understand why they can't make these mechas to looks normal size, instead of that damn chibi look.
    Is disgusting and lazy.
    The only time they look normal size are in those super robot taisen OG Saga RPGs. They looks so badass there, but heck, in the rest of the games they look like generic chibi garbage.

    • @Retronomicon
      @Retronomicon  3 года назад

      Not sure why, I would guess it may have had something to do with memory being limited on the early hardware, but then again they are just 2D images so I guess it wouldn't matter. I agree though, I would like it more if they weren't Chibified.

      "Chibi" is normalized these days but this game was among the unique one using chibi look that time. Nowadays of course it seems "lazy" but the truth is they just stucked with what works. Maybe the title u mentioned was a flop based on market review, hence why they stick with chibi back.

      Many reasons, it was an aesthetic choice at the time the series started, also literally copyright reasons regarding some franchises like Gundam where they had a literal SD lineup fror their franchise and not being possible to use the real sizes until SRW shin where they looked awful, also it helped make the job of working on animations for every unit which is why the series was well known at the time which is a hard thing to for every unit in the series, in fact the their proportions have been closer to their normal size over the years and they look fine in the current games.
      The OG Saga RPGs are made by a different studio with a very different budget, with a very different playstyle in mind, also most of the characters not being tied to a license as well.
