  • Bradley opencast progress. First update since February. The huge hole is filled and leveled and a new cut is open and moving East. Some of the original cuts are now turning green, wonder if that's the finished surface?

Thanks Stephen - I didn't know about any extension. I did see them preparing to test in the field between there and the Jolly Drovers.

Another nice video John, looks like Tonka land, there's some stock of Plant working in there.

Thanks again, this is about the 6th in a series I've posted on here following the progress, it's been interesting to watch how they go about it all. In the previous video - ruclips.net/video/bqk_9JL1i0g/видео.html - you could see some of the old underground mine workings come into view. Must cost a fortune for all the plant they're using, You'd wonder how they can still make a profit.

I use Google Earth to search for nice places to fly, there’s quite a few big opencasts around, there’s one at Cramlington I keep meaning to visit but I’ve been following progress at Bradley and don’t want the videos to get too samey.

Great video showing how clean it is but even better giving a brief glimpse of the geology

Col Suddick Thank you, I must admit I’d love to be down there having a look through the strata and maybe a fossil or two among the waste rock.

Did you fly directly above the site at all John, or stay outside the perimeter? I’m thinking of taking a drone up there soon. Where did you launch from?

Matt, yes I flew over the site, just keep 50m from people or machines and you're golden :) . There are footpaths all around it and I take off from different points.

I'm really not sure to be honest but if you scroll forward to 3.50 in this one ruclips.net/video/bqk_9JL1i0g/видео.html you can see the old tunnels/wagon ways coming into view.
