I think they'd be stupid not to double down on what they've built with the original Switch. I think it'll be all one eShop with some games either only working on Switch 2, or compatible with both but with better performance and/or visuals on the 2.0 version. The Switch library is already massive. This would make the leap of buying the new Switch painless for users (you'd probably see more people selling their last gen consoles and upgrading from there than usual, as opposed to keeping the old console so the games on it aren't lost, is my guess), and as long as the Switch 2 has a great 1st and 3rd party lineup and enough improvements to the console itself, the incentive to upgrade from the original Switch will be there.

In the history of the company, the only time they got rid of backwards compatibility, was when they changed the data medium for the software. If the new Switch has cartridges, it will likely accept the old Switch cartridges as well, just like the 3DS did with the DS cartridges!
I think it looks decent. A lot of people hated on the original switch design and said it looked ugly as well, similar with the PS5. I think it's just because people aren't used to it yet
this design solves many of the switch's problems such as needing an extra piece of plastic for using a single joycon and also having all your hands being in one side rather than being centred when using single joycon mode, also i like the new dock that uses the switch screen, that being said it is not official it was made by Italian designer breccia

I see it as just trying to improve upon the lack of ergonomics in the OG Switch. This mockup looks like it's shifted a few notches closer to ergonomic as opposed to portability/slimness and aesthetic appeal. I would be shocked if they ever used a design like this, but the spirit in which it was intended might be present in their new console, just done better.

4k? Haha, no way! 1080p max, it's rumored to be as powerful as a PS4 (MAYBE a PS4 Pro, but unlikely), and the PS4 isn't powerful enough to run games in 4k! But if they do a 1080p amoled display, it'll look amazing!

Supposedly, they'll be able to accomplish it by using DLSS (which sounds possible for sure). So yeah, it sounds like you'll be right! I'm still skeptical, but I'm really hoping it's true!
You don't need 4k on that size, 1080p would be nice though. Currently it's 720p and the pixels are definitely noticeable. I think 1080p would be perfect.

We got the "leaked" 3D files that have some very convincing aspects. The most convincing being the leaked shots of the prototype PCB on a housing that looks like the 3D files. That PCB even got nintendos code name for the device printed. That sliding joycon thing is around for ages now and i doub't they'd go for something like that.

But once u insert the switch into the new system it will unlock the backwards compatibility features so u can play every game and use the joycons for the Wii games , and when u remove the switch you can add an attachment to play DS games .

However instead of just leaving the switch alone for good they can add a second screen attachment and it allows you to play ds games and the rest . So In Zelda when u insert the slate it starts to work the mechanism. Well we can put the switch down or something like that into the system and it can turn our switch into a beast mode

The Switch itself simply brings its power up from a more under clocked state since it's essentially connected to a power outlet now so it doesn't have to worry about draining battery very fast.

I also dont think they'd refrence the Mario Theme on hardware, unless there was a reason to do so. If they want to refrence mario, the nod would software related, not a hardware one for the sake of graphic design.

It won’t look like that because it’ll fail, the Wii U failed simply for being named Wii U; it took some time for people to realize it wasn’t a add-on to the Wii. But based on Nintendo’s history of failing astronomically before breaking all time records, I wouldn’t be surprised if their next system fails.

the Switch Attach might have 2 screens also, similar to a DS, but possibly sliding instead of folding.
I doubt it, it seemed like their two-screen philosophy died with the Wii-U and 3DS. But weirder things have happened.

The only really notable difference between PS4 and PS5 is the SSD and rumors indicate UFS3 speeds for Switch 2 so we are good on that front
