Hopefully he’s in a good place enjoying life. He should have made enough money to do whatever he wants and got out at the right time. He probably realised there was a high price for long term success and wasn’t willing to pay it.

My opinon, ever since Sonny Digital Producers been realizing they have a shelf life no matter how talented they are, in terms of being radio hitmakers, so they know now just from seeing the signs and how its gone for others that its time to transition in to some other A&R or behind the scenes role before your 15 minutes (or 30 or an hour) are up. Metro Boomin is pretty much an artist at this point, others have gone onto work for labels or do music for film, TV, video games, and other genres etc. Or help work on VSTs etc.
@@OVO-Adolffrfr Pharrell is like 50 and still one of the top producers in the game after almost 3 decades. Originality and the capability to evolve is what keeps you around/relevant. I used to sell weed to Shane (Murda). And he absolutely did get made fun of when he first started. I never made fun, but people were pretty ruthless to him when he would post beats on Facebook. Although I do recall making fun of him for failing the literacy test, lol.

Exactly, that's why he sold his entire catalogue. Probably to make sure they have no leverage on him and also to be sure to keep all his royalties ect.
He probably did the right thing getting out when he did. He probably wasn’t willing to sell his soul as too many others are so happy to do. As long as he’s happy and enjoying life he should do whatever he wants.
