Best Dark Satire ever. Movie showed how the Victory culture from WW II could result in our destruction in a nuclear war. Those can-do Airmen, Major King Kong (Slim Pickens) and crew will be humanity's doom through the excellent performance of their duties. Love how "When Johnny Comes Marching Home" is being hummed in the background in the scenes involving Major Kong and his crew on their B-52. BTW: Given the ongoing destruction of the World's environment by humans, the possibility of humanity being forced to live underground in fifty to one hundred years suggest we better get all the underground caves, shelters and coal mines ready for people to live in. Yes it appears as General Turgidson (George C. Scott) said at the end of Dr. Strangelove: "Mister President, we must not allow a Mine Shaft Gap!"
