Crazy to see an AXS chain worn that early. Even using a normal drip lube (Rock n Roll Gold), my Red AXS chains lasted over 7,000 miles before they hit 0.5 stretch on a CC-4. I just switched to Silca chain wax and a Force AXS chain about six months ago though. I'm wondering if it will make it to 10,000 miles before 0.5 stretch. For cleaning my AXS derailleurs, I pull the batteries and replace them with SRAM's red plastic cover and use Finish Line e-Shift Cleaner or 99% IPA with a small brush. I also clean the battery terminals on the derailleur and the battery itself with 99% IPA and a brush. I own an original Red AXS groupset from April 2019 that now has 17,000 miles on it. Still works perfectly.
Ahh Lee and Simon. My Wednesday is complete. Thanks for the great content and excellent job as always 🎉 Interesting comments in the chat about the checker. Have the same groupset and was keen to get a checker that could help ensure I didn't have any wear.
This is the same bike I bought a couple of months ago. This is so useful to see what I should look out for down the line. Thanks guys. Superb video and work.
Been watching this super channel for some time and I think I have detected that Lee is a bit of a watch collector as well as being a great bike fitter. It would be interesting to see an edition of the show where the watches are shown off!
Loving the attention to details as always. I saw a RUclips video the other day by a guy who reckoned he had OCD and therefore did a super clean and detail on his bike and it wasn't as thorough as yours !
I just noticed something while watching this video - when you wash the bike you don't rinse it with water, you just wipe off the soap residue with a microfibre towel? I like that because I'm always concerned about getting water into the head tube, bottom bracket and rear hub. But don't you risk having dirt particles in the soap residue which could scratch the frame when you wipe it down?
07:47 - Simon, I've got SRAM Rival AXS exactly like this set-up, is there an A+B screw adjustment on the rear derailleur for SRAM AXS? My chain slips off the biggest ring but I can't see an A+B screws to adjust it ?
Amazing job. I love that derailleur hanger adjuster. It's from Red Cycling, right? I know Wolf Tooth has a hanger adjuster with a different method. Do you have any experience with their tools?
I'm no expert but I don't think you can use that chain checker to measure wear on a SRAM axs chain. Only park tool cc4 or Pedro's chain checker are compatible. The tool your using will always show the chain as worn I believe
Park Tools says to use the CC-4 for SRAM flat top and T-type 12 speed chains. Is this bike 11 or 12 speed? I assume 12 speed because the video title says SRAM 2023.
@@WARDANT1 I have no idea why other than it says on the SRAM site to use only park tool cc4 or Pedro's chain checker 1 or 2 for all Axs eagle and road flat top chains
Quick question for you, When you use thin oil. Does in need to be specifically thin oil? Or can it be something like assembly paste (probably to thick) or something as simple as some chain lube? Great video as always
kinda shocked a 2023 blowing through brake pads and a cassette... chain would b normal make me wonder how many miles hes riding.... i put 7000+ on my 2022 trek fx3 and just changed the pads and they were only 40% have changed the chain 2x (3rd upcoming soon) shifting A+ still
It's a smear! Not a smother. It's fine. Solved my issue of "clunking" when braking. This is done on car brake pads too. If you're putting enough on to risk contamination of the pads.... it's waaaaaay too much
Love how detailed you are in your work 👍🏽
Thanks very much!🧡

Great to hear 🧡
Cycling is the only thing that is sane in this world right now
The prices aren't sane tho
@@jhonathanbarthomelewoswald1936 Ha! Was going to retort with this, too.
Glad we could be some part of it!🧡
@@Bikespeeds People like you guys are gems in our community!!
Another life saved.
Wait, why aren't you using the Parktool CC-4 for chain checking?
Most accurate one on the market aside from Pedro's version.
Quality service as always guys 👍
Thank you Brian!🧡
The attention to detail and your workmanship is amazing! Great video as always!

I haven't watched the video yet, but I know I will enjoy it while I drink my coffee.
Haha enjoy Sam🧡☕️
Chapeau for fitting a Corsa by hand ! :)

you are lovely to watch!
very detailed and I can see how you enjoy your work
Thanks for all the kind words 🧡
Lovely job, use those tyres myself they do pick up a lot of flint/glass have to keep an eye on it
Saves you a world of pain from checking before a ride!🧡
This is therapeutic

Thank you!🧡
Another great job! Will you guys please feature any modern Campagnolo bikes?
We honestly don’t get many in the shop, but if one comes in needing enough work for a video then definitely 🧡
Congrats mate! Good job, bike ready to Go!
Glad you enjoyed it!🧡
The detail and meticulousness in your work is so satisfying to watch. Thank you as always for the fine video.

Great job and lovely bike. Love spesh frames👌
Yes this was a lovely bike!🧡
Another great job job guys 👍
So soothing
What cassette removal tool do you use with such a long handle, please? Thank you.
You can probably use anyone for 1/2 (or 3/8) inch ratchet, breaker bar or Torque wrench

Love it, thanks
The Handelbar position is merely due to the loose of the stem screws... am I right?
Yes mate

I always measure pad thickness and rotor thickness. Also. On a service like this I usually bleed brakes. When do u bleed brakes on a full service?
what's the difference from the all purpose grease to the premium grease?
Premium grease is more resilient to water and wear, all purpose grease is good but needs more maintenance
Yes exactly🧡
When do you decide to bleed brakes? Is that routine or when there is an issue?
When there is an issue 🧡
Do you wax new chains before installing than?
If the customer requests buy a lot of people preference an oiled chain for the lower up keep🧡⚙️
Amazing job. I love that derailleur hanger adjuster. It's from Red Cycling, right?
I know Wolf Tooth has a hanger adjuster with a different method. Do you have any experience with their tools?
Do you know how many km's he put on the bike / chain / Casette until he came in for your service?
What pads do you use?
I'm no expert but I don't think you can use that chain checker to measure wear on a SRAM axs chain. Only park tool cc4 or Pedro's chain checker are compatible. The tool your using will always show the chain as worn I believe
Yee, I’ve had a customer come in who ruined their cassette and chain because they used the wrong chain checker which gave them an improper reading
Are the rollers a non standard diameter then? Other than the pitch not being 1/2" between each pin I can't see how his chain checker would not work
Park Tools says to use the CC-4 for SRAM flat top and T-type 12 speed chains. Is this bike 11 or 12 speed? I assume 12 speed because the video title says SRAM 2023.

The distance between the rollers should be standard unless the diameter of the rollers themselves are not but I doubt it
Quick question for you,

Thin oil can get into places thick oil cannot so it depends on the application but there’s certainly a place for it!🧡

Did you get a new camera, look’s different, better?
No but Simon is always tweaking things to try improve the videos, what about it looks better?🧡

Where’s your Auto Glym routine boss?
We offer two tiers of service and this was a standard adjustment service not a full detail!🧡
@@Bikespeeds cheers, very good content!
did you just put grease on the back of pads? are you nuts?
?🤔
I do on mine! Small smear. Works fine.
never seen anybody else applying grease on brakes, its not safe.
