Catherine, I thought your braided hair looked beautiful. You didn't need to sort your head out. Also, the drawings of the flowers that you are doing are really very beautiful. I thought your wax jacket looked very nice. I hope you enjoy many dry walks in the rain!
I agree. It is nice to "look after what you have" that's such a nice sentiment. I definitely forget to be appreciative sometimes, but I am very lucky to have the life I have. Thanks for the reminder! I have been in therapy for a while now and it's been amazing! I also signed up for an art class (ceramics) and it's really fun so far.

Hi Catherine, your will Power to bring this Barbour Jacket back to life was truly amazing. Seems like the hairdryer played a big part in helping the Wax seep into the material. It looks fabulous now. Yes, maybe a second coat will make it simply stunning. Great idea of taking cuttings from your garden to bring the outdoors indoors, lots of joy and colour to make you smile. X

That must be really frustrating when they are not available in your size, I know some ladies get second hand mens jackets because they prefer the fit of them.

Ive been quite down since my mom passed and in caring for her I have not given my garden or greenhouse proper attention. Ive starting to feel better and your videos, where go go about your day with your to do list is helping me get back to my routine.

Aaaah good effort with the wax jacket, well done. The process reminded me of using saddle soap to clean and feed the leather on old jackets, bags and sofas. You think "thats a lot", but the old leather is like " AGAIN" 😂 couple of years ago started counselling as I was having anxiety attacks and was very depressed, it help me to identify my triggers, develop coping strategies and learn to say " no" " not today", " haven't the the capacity ". Good for you Catherine ❤

My mum had a tent made of this material. The adults were in a small sleeping tent and me and my brother slept in the wax tent with all the food and supplies. However, she had not waxed it! so it leaked when it rained and I woke up to be floating around on my airbed with tins of baked beans beside me😂

Well done for persevering with the Barbour jacket. I sent my 20 year old jacket to South Shields uk and it came back like new and it only cost the minimum amount quoted. Yes mine is for walking the dog only as it’s great for walking in the rain I also bought a matching hood too. Your garden looks really pretty 💐

The jacket suits you! It should be quite useful in the garden as well. Hopefully you will take us on a fall walk, maybe on that lovely trail through the woods again, and show off the jacket styled as you imagined it. Loving all the vases with flowers an the mantle.

Your framed flower pictures are fantastic , as are the pencil sketches - way to go, you! I am not familiar with waxed jackets, but wow, it sure looks great with its first coat of wax. Also enjoyed the slow dusting and replanting, must do some of that myself! Laurie

Barbour is absolutely an awesome brand!!! I have like 20 models! The idea is that they will be always with you and that you will replace the pieces that need repair so it can grow with you. Hope you love it! 😊

Great job waxing the jacket. I used to have a short and a long wax and that's exactly how I rewaxed mine. I did them once a year.

It’s lovely after some wonderful hot sunny weather to hear the sound of rain , it does make you want to cosy up your nest. I had a Barbour coat for years and I loved it but they are quite high maintenance, I used to heat my wax to liquid in a pan of hot water keeping it on a very low heat I then painted the wax on with a paint brush kept for that purpose then leave it to dry in an airy place for a few days. I thought you looked lovely in it a real country girl 👍

Catherine wait a couple of days for the wax to "seep" into the jacket before you consider a second coat. It looks great on you! I remember wearing a wax coat years ago in the 70's/80's!.
I rewax my barnour every summer on a hot sunny day outside, really helps, the coat warms up and absorbs the wax, makes it easier. X

i‘ve had my barbour for 30+ years. all i do is clean the inside with a damp cloth and surgical spirit and air it out on a nice day before and after the season (roughly sept-april).
the outside i‘ve re-waxed regularly (about every other year) myself. i didn‘t even know there was a professional re-waxing service! and now with the blasted bre🤬🤬it it‘s no longer an option for me (currently living in austria). aaanyway - your jacket looks fab and you look very „boho country girl“ in it. 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
