Cheesecake Factory Workers EXPOSE Company's Greed

- Cheesecake Factory workers are exposing a shocking lack of safety, overwork, poverty wages. Roark Capital, a private equity firm that controls 650K fast food workers, bought the chain in 2020. Employees worked 12-hour days, 6-day weeks during the pandemic and were pressured to work sick.
Roark Capital is a massive private equity firm named after the main character from Ayn Rand’s book The Fountainhead. It owns $33 billion in assets - including Baskin Robbins, Buffalo Wild Wings, Dunkin’, Jimmy Johns, and Sonic. Roark is one of the largest low-wage employers.

This job is killing me, it’s only been a few days. And I feel overworked like a mf, I thought working in the middle of Beverly Hills would be nice…. Wrong 😑
Dude come over and work at Pavilions in WeHo. We’re union and we could use more workers. Unfortunately same customers probably but pretty sure you won’t be overworked
@@louis-we3yi what good is the money if your too tired to do anything with it?
FFS why must we live to work?
The only reason things continue the way they are is because we allow it to. For so long we've all agreed that it's acceptable for your boss to roll up in a range Rover while everybody else (who that person actually depends on) is struggling. We need to realize our real value. They don't want you to. Why do u think these companies are super quick to try and stop unions. It basically comes down to their plush cushy lifestyles...vs our survival...this is objectively ridiculous
Labor and safety are 2 of the first things corporations will cut to increase profits. On the face they claim to care about workers and safety, but they don't practice what the preach. It's ALL about the money. Retail and service industries are the worst. There will be a few exceptions, but this generally is the rule.
The more you prioritize profits, the more successful you are in a capitalist environment.

Good luck following the ownership: RC Cake Holdings LLC, a Delaware limited liability company, directly owns the Common Stock (as defined below). Always fantastic work. This is what’s newsworthy.

Damn, and that's without a Union.

We need to abolish private equity
Why? A lot of pensions are funded by private equity investments because private equity is famous for significantly outperforming the stock market. I myself have invested in private equity and get a great return on investment.
@@johnmartin4641 because they end up doing shit like this, people before profits
although i predict you are gonna have a problem with this statement
Yeah they are super corporate and cheesy
Love how the corporate restaurateurs must obscure ownership to hide from the abysmal working conditions and quality of cuisine they deliver. Accountability, run from it, a capitalist moto.
Complaining about something does not lead to change. Organize and take your 10 days or more at the same time across the country. Or have every employee and everyone you know buy at least one stock in the company, and vote as a block to remove some of the dirt at the top. What ever you choose to do to make a change organization is the key.
Complaining is the acknowledgment of a problem which is the foundation of change. Change takes more than pointing out the issues but that's where it starts.
I love these types videos keep them coming
$2.13?!?!?! That should be illegal! Tips or not, that is insane!!!
These corporations are not only taking advantage of workers, they are taking advantage of us the customers by making us pay the workers salaries through tips while they are making huge profits. Most countries in Europe and Asia do not have a “culture” of tips. In fact, some will be offended if you tip because it’s like a handout to someone in need.
Sounds like a miserable job. Why does anyone apply there.
They apply there because that’s what you can get when you have a high school diploma, a criminal record, kids in your 20s, and can’t pass a drug test. I know from experience, I work at Jimmy John’s doing delivery during the winter. I’m self employed the rest of the year and make twice as much money than JJ’s (although with tips I make about $22 per hour so I can’t complain). But yeah, make better life choices and your ceiling won’t be general manager at an Inspire Brands company.

The Cheesecake Factory doesn’t care about there employees they just want you to bust your ass and not get credit for the work that you do it’s a very fast paced environment not a good company to work for the food is good but working there sucks and I would never recommend it to anyone they suck

Cheesecake factory workers need to unionize.
I got covid at Cheesecake Factory not to mention how dirty the job is the bathrooms never cleaned the floors so covered in water and greese we would have to spray down our shoes after shifts
So how much does a waitress at CF make AFTER tips? You seem to be obtuse on that.
There oughta be a law against it!
Fantastic work. Boost
Look I will be honest with you the cheesecake factory actually takes cares of people I'm not even going to lie at all I don't know what this video is talking about. I hated all my jobs until I started working there. I've been there for a couple of years. We did not over seat. when it was the pandemic that is definitely false and we had to wear mask and we only had limited staff we have limited staff and we only let limited guests in. Your store just sucks sorry and WE GET PAID PAID
Yep! I work pasta my location and know for a fact that I bust my ass and face so much more anxiety, stress and physical exhaustion than the servers who leave plates in the window for 15 to 20 minutes because they are chatting it up at the drink station or busy on their phone. Those very same servers are able to make 4K a month with the right schedule. I agree with you that the store that these people worked at just sucks. I do not even care for ccf all that much but I will give them credit for being the only restaurant I've ever worked at that actually offers servers benefits...
The CEO makes 300 times more in wages, but when you account for all their ridiculous bonuses and the fact that they can skirt around and pay next to nothing in taxes, the truth is the disparity is even higher than that.
Only time I enjoyed a meal at cheesecake factory was before the pandemic thankfully my tip was twenty dollars
Someone needs to show the owner David Overton of Cheesecake Factory this video.
We cut corners on our employees but we always wash our hands
Go stick it!
This is how empire falls.
This is not true the Cheesecake Factory supplied free groceries and free meals everyday for the staff not to mention they helped us get other jobs that were open during the pandemic plus gave us free health insurance for the rest of the year if you already had the insurance.
I worked for cheesecake factory back in 2012 and it was a shit company back then.
So that's what happened to Cheesecake Factory.
Just quit
underpaid
There's one in on Honolulu, Hawaii on dole street..happy to find out about cheese cake restaurants..Honolulu, Hawaii Labor department should step in and find out about cheese cake restaurant..this is makes me not ever go to this place..Honolulu Hawaii state Labor department should shut down the cheese cake restaurants in Hawaii..period..
No, not shut down. That would take jobs away. They need to be pressured and forced to pay fair wages with benefits. And limit work hours.
Walk out and shit down the cheesecake franchise.

It’s only going to get worse until capitalism is burned to the ground. The sole guiding principle of capitalism is ever expanding profits and capitalists will continue to chase those profits no matter what. Even if it means human suffering.
Okay, these are all servers and hosts that make a TON of money. The guys that work a lot is the dishwashers and the prep cooks, they should get paid more. Kitchen staff works like crazy. But servers make a ton of money in tips, especially in California, where they make regular minimum wage, like $10 or whatever it is now, versus other states that make $2+ an hour. I want to see their paychecks before and after the pandemic, I bet it’s pretty hefty. And while there are super hardworking servers and hostesses, there a ton who are just lazy, and bad at their job. We all would like to make a ton of money. But they forgot to mention the Covid programs that were offered to the staff during the pandemic, like free food, groceries packages and a small scholarship.
Host don’t make a ton of money. That’s probably the lowest paying work group at the restaurant.
@louis ok.
Change industries and quit playing victim.
This should read. “How employees fail to understand large investments in publicly traded companies.” I completely agree with employees earning the wage they deserve. But that isn’t this story. This story is very misleading.
I don’t remember anyone crying about Game Stop employees that only made minimum wage while investors had 100x returns.
How many shares would one need to buy for one to “owe” a front line employee a raise? How many of you or even them for that matter have their own 401k invested in these same publicly traded companies.
Someone please educate these kids on how business, publicly traded companies and investments work.
This is why this channel is propaganda and not journalism.
No Mames Buey.
I think your words are not cohering into a logical argument. The owners of an equity fund, or any other entity that controls the employment of human beings is fundamentally responsible for treating them fairly. Don't ask what "fairly" means either.
Here's some logic to chew on. Follow along: Labor costs are 2/3 of anything whose production requires labor. If your mindless, relentless quest is to wring every drop of profit from a thing until it is rubble, you must mistreat and eliminate labor. Which makes for two important Rules: if you unemploy vast oceans of people, you can't then call them lazy and refuse to support them. Second, if you wake up looking for new ways to severely underpay your workers, ask "How will those workers afford to buy anything in our 60% consumer spending based economy?" I'm not real math-y, but that doesn't smell right.
It's like this, Papi: Profits are not the most important thing, no matter what 330 million Americans tell each other constantly. And I don't like you.
Papi Chulo - Oh how delightful, a sociopathic Ayn Rand fan boy is trolling the channel. Take your 'objectivism' propaganda and try to sell it elsewhere, no one here is interested. Perhaps the WSJ would have a greater appreciation for your selfish free market worshipping at the altar of the almighty dollar BS. Go away you horror of a humam being.
@@caliman99 1.) Just because you’re an investor. Doesn’t mean you’re responsible for the companies employees. Example; the Game Stop debacle.
2.) If we did agree, yes. They are responsible. How would you “fairly” distribute the profits of their investment? On that same token. If the hundreds million dollar investment lost money. Could they bill the front line workers for their investment loss? The point I’m making, is would it be fair to collect profits without the finical risk of the investment? If you’re unwilling to accept the losses?
I’m a small business owner. I completely understand the customer/employee/company dynamics. I believe everyone should be compensated fairly for the value they bring to the table. Getting the masses to understand and agree to that is the biggest problem.
Here is something to think about. All of the customers or potential customers I’ve come in contact with they talk the same game as you do. Never wants to pay someone else even minimum wage. And they always have an excuse why they can’t and someone else should. It’s the core behavioral trates of a socialist.
How many people that align with this channel shop on Amazon, buy iPhones and contradict their very statements through their own actions. Again, always with an excuses as to why.
I’m willing to bet your post was made through an iPhone.

@@stephm.3407 I’m going to say you’re 13-16 years of age. How close am I.
The biggest generational difference I see. Is when I was a kid. We all knew we were kids with no life experiences. We knew that even if we didn’t agree with the previous generation. There is value in experiences. Today you all literally think you know more than those older than you. Even though, technically speaking. You’ve lived less, done less and experienced less than the previous generation. History and time will not be gentle to your generation. At least we’ll have a permanent and digital reference to reach the next of the errors of yours ways. Narcissism is a hell of a thing.
