Thanks! I downloaded this software for work ( I make educational videos). Your tutorial was very basic and contained just enough information to get me started. I'll definitely come back when I'm ready to go deeper.
Great video! I am new to this and the one thing I don't understand is what the green guides/resizing options are for on the right side, preview panel? I always import my videos and then edit them. Do they correspond to the video profiles? Thank you!!
I realize this is an old video and my question may not be answer but; I want to put a dust and scratches video over the overall video (videos clips within the video). Is that possible with OpenShot?
How do I manage multiple long clips in OpenShop? When I continue to add clips, some of the shorter clips I used initially begin to shrink. If continue adding new clips I will start to lose my work from the left side. Obviously, I am doing something wrong. How do I avoid this problem?
First, let me say thank you for this very informative tutorial. I downloaded OpenShot, but when I open it, I can only see one track at a time at the bottom. I noticed that you opened multiple tracks at the same time. Do you have any idea why I can open only one? I am using Windows 10.
Thanks Edward that was very helpful , though I am noticing that this editor sometimes has a glitch , coz the video sound and image stops! I also have 2 questions : how long is the duration time on the timeline ? How can you make a short video to last for longer period of time ? Let's say 5 min video to last 30 min ? Thanks
I struggled at first to get the same layout as is shown here. At the very top of the screen, along with FILE etc, is the VIEW option. From here you can select SIMPLE VIEW. It is hidden at the start of this tutorial but can be seen after 1 minute 40 secs. Apart from that it was most helpful.
I used to be able to use Open Shot easily but can't recall now because I am rusty from not using it all the time. However, my pc was 8 Gig of ram. I therefore realized quickly the latest update would crash. I put in a older version from 2019. I upgraded it to 16 Gig. That was the minimum for the newer version. All that said. As of today did not upgraded to newest Open Shot version yet. And this video is around a year old per the timestamp. So let's see how this goes. I think what I did to install a older version was go to the programs website and hunt down a list of older versions. They were unable to be downloaded from the website. Therefore I searched them and found a site housing old versions and downloaded. I also am not able to upgrade this pc to Windows 11. We were all hosed on that to an extent. But everybody has a different situation. When I bought the computer in 2019 it was unknown the specs needed for Windows 11. It turned out my chipset is wrong model and not on the upgradable models and it needs some other tweaks to work.. Yes you can force it on but no I am not going to do it. I just got the PC serviced when it crashed in a power failure and they went ahead and moved it up to 16 gigs of Ram. Technology changed too fast so when I bought this Dell Optiflex computer the store said it was a good buy. But now it is lagging a little. Thus I bought a laptop that upgraded to Windows 11. I needed it because the older one was accidentially erased and formatted and now cannot turn on and decided not to mess with it. Long story short and to finish up. Let's see how this Openshot tutorial goes. While the laptop was upgraded to Windows 11. It also only had 8 GB of ram which I never noticed until I understood that it is no longer fast enough. But so be it. Plus the laptop is 1 TB which is decent. But destop is 2 TB. I will say that right now after spending a lot I am done with PCs. I have invested in some external drives and usb sticks to move files. The laptop itself crashed in 2021 but got free service from Dell. but it costs over 50 dollars to maintain warranty. Which expired on this desktop PC and was never serviceable by Dell due to it having been refurbished by the store. I now understand what gigs of memory do and what a refurbished computer does to getting the manufacturer to service it for free. I just need to splice three clips together and make a file.
Hi! I downloaded the software but when I edit video, I couldn't add videos or images. I can add one if I close the app first then relaunch it. What is the probable reason behind this?
For this delete it and make sure you Download the lastest version which must be compatible with your computer's window version (7,8 or 10) or iOs 14 etc. this should work 💪
As a beginner who's didn't even know about this software, your tutorial lost me. Lucky for me I did find another one that was more to the point and simpler.
All I wanted to see was how to bring multiple files into openshop and then append each of them after each other without a blank in between and without loosing video in between.
Preview in most video editing software can look a little rough as it's hard to process all of that in real time. So sometimes they do 1/2 or 1/4 of quality and it might still lag
Way to complicated, Windows Movie Maker and Winnows 10 Video Editor are so much to do this. The only thing easy about overshot is picture in picture. Drag and drop sucks and so does the time lines or story board. 44 likes for your video now
I wholeheartedly agree with you, Windows Movie Make is the best thing since sliced bread! I absolutely love it. It's so much easier to learn and use. It's a shame Microsoft decided to stop supporting WMM. I still use my WMM, but haven't found a way to delete my recent projects list from it.. There used to be a way when Microsoft support it. The only thing I don't like about Video Editor is the fact that you can't insert transitions.
Incredibly powerful tutorial and simple .... I'm making my own tutorial soonest.... But pls I'm upcoming RUclipsr @eduard which camera and webcam do you recommend?
I downloaded the OpenShot software, but when I open it, I can only see one track at a time at the bottom. Do you have any idea why I can't open multiple tracks at tje same time as shown in the tutorial? I am using Windows 10.
This is the best tutorial for video editing I have found. Precise and clear presentation, with perfect examples. Thanks!

I realize this is an old video and my question may not be answer but; I want to put a dust and scratches video over the overall video (videos clips within the video). Is that possible with OpenShot?
yes, just drop it on another video track on top of the main video track

how do i get same layout?
I've got the default layout

Why is my openshot playing in milisecond when i test my video
doesn't show seconds at all?
Why is my video in the video viewer jerky motion.

@@MNM14ful you simply open more tracks by importing more project in your dashboard files up 5 tracks. ..
@@RealUgochukwu_Obioha Thanks for replying. I'll give that a try.
