I played this while they still did live performances! I was put up on stage and challenged to exercise my free will by not touching The Button. I touched The Button. I got put in the bird cage and I had to dance to get out. There were other events too, with some actors just hanging out and interacting with the players. It was incredibly unique, and I’m sad that I’ll never be able to experience it again. But I haven’t even finished the single player campaign yet, so I still have that to return to! The magic in this game is also really fun. You can’t talk to other players, so everyone has to figure out how to communicate through mimicry and miming. I remember other players showing me how to conjure a bunch of different things, which I would then teach to others myself! There are even some secret locations in the hub world that require multiple players to access. I haven’t played in a long time, so I don’t know whether you can still meet other players to enter those places anymore.
this is by far my favourite game on oculus. I loved the movement system, the atmosphere, the characters... too bad I was already too late for the theater part
I thought this looked familiar! Seeing The Under Presents here was a pleasant surprise. VR is my career, and I always wanted to attend these live performances. But the timing never quite lined up for me. I *have* explored the game world before in single player, though. The developers do a great job of "setting the stage" and giving it atmosphere! When I played, I think I *might* have encountered a live player, or maybe even an actor behaving as a bartender. There was no speaking, so it was hard to say. A quick note on audience: I think you might not find many VR players showing up in the comments. There are a lot of VR players who don't watch "pancake" gaming content, and I couldn't tell this was VR before I clicked!
Omg I didn't know "pancake" was a term.... that's brilliant. And yeah, everything I've read and seen about TUP just looks amazing and super creative, can't wait to see what the devs come up with next
