I don't know what it's like off the line but that Civic seems to put its power down very well once moving. I timed that 100-160km/h (60-100mph) whilst filming the speedo at under 4secs, which is insanely quick. Good work!

I love how people hate on tuners. Squeezing 500 hp out of an Ls1 isn't that hard at all, but try squeezing it out of a 1.6L that only comes with around 150 hp stock. That in itself is an accomplishment. I personally like and respect both for what they are, I have owned muscle and I have owned imports and I have to say they both have their own special characteristics that you just can't squeeze out of the other. So in closing, I think we should just respect them from an engineering standpoint.

@Sernasie905 short answer no. if you dont like the sound of a blowoff valve you can use what is called a diverter valve to take it's place and that will be silent and will do almost exactly the same thing, i use one over a BOV myself.
@CrimnlBT There seems to be some confusion on this page so I'll try to help. A car accelerates according to its power curve, not the torque curve, that is why you shift at high rpm even if the torque starts to go down. HP=Torque*RPM/5252. If you want to improve acceleration you can increase torque, or RPM, both are valid. A F1 car has very low torque, but can accelerate quickly due to a very high RPM. Torque is related to power through the entire range, and is one of two major factors.
@ctcraam thank you...I love how The weight to power ratio with hondas is very overlooked. My Crx has A little over 2 CC per pound. that and a set of 14 or 15s give me a lot of torque
@ABreathless0blivion agreed, I prefer using a recirculating diverter valve to avoid the bov sound. It's much quieter, sounds cleaner (to me), and I like the stealth/oem factor it brings. Power isn't badly affected so it's a total win to me. Kei
@TequilaKG well turbocharging adds to torque, of course a small engine with a big turbo will be able to breathe better in high rpm, thats why this engine revs easily to 9k
For the money, civic and corolla are the best car in the world. Plenty available, parts are cheap, fully customizable, longest lasting, most reliable. sup 'em up and go faster than corvettes, all for under 30 thousand dollars...I cant wait for the hate mail this comment brings.
@th3m8ngtree i know and corvette was undefeated in road racing for years untill carrol shelby came out with the a/c cobra so not only are we fast but our cars that can take corners can take them well

The speedo is off most likely from topping out many times have you clocked it to see if it is still calibrated? I put under sized tires on my car and the speedo looked like I was driving something twice as fast and I never did anything to it. The top speed would read 220kmph but I was only going 160ish. You using Hondata? Just curious I like how you kept it originally badged and clean thanks for not making it stick out like a sore thumb eh :)
@dsmrider because when you get on the dyno all you wanna do is push ur car to its limits and you end up doing 2 or 3 runs on it. people tend to blow or break on the dyno.
@Hexxle not exactly...any spoiler that has a lip is useful to a certain extent...these cars weigh nothing in the rear so at 140mph it helps keep the ass end from sliding around..

Funny that all the people on here bashing this car all talk as if they own a car that would outrun this. That car goes from 100kmh to 225kmh in about 8 seconds. That's 62mph to 131mph in that short amount of time. Unless you own a car that is capable of doing that, you have no room to call this car a piece of crap and if you claim your car can, I want to see proof. :P

According to a British survey in which they rank the reliability of car engines from the last 15 years, Honda comes first. Toyota comes second. Mercedes third and Volvo 4'th. But I think Honda's racing success in MotoGP, Superbikes, Formula 1, IndyCars and powerboat racing speaks for itself.

@chrismay1a depending on the corvette. the shelby A/C Cobra was built to beat the corvette in professional road racing years ago and even back then the corvette was undefeated in road racing for a couple years. they dominated Porsche and Ferrari untill the A/C cobra then the cobra destroyed everything. that car could do 80mph in 1st gear and still take corners. and corvettes still stand very high in the standing for road racing today.ZR1 corvette will do anything you want it to

In the general sense, it's a modded up Honda Civic, the classic ricer car, just not overdone with all the ridiculous neons and sounds systems and paint jobs and so on. Still kind of a ricer in my personal opinion, but a ricer as they should be done. Either way, it's an awesome car, and kudos to the guy who put all that work into it.
@thunderup86 i wasnt trying to say that a turbo is it... at 4.6 3v is good for about 450whp...i was trying to get at the fact of 60k to build a v8 to 500rwhp, compared to a 800whp I-4 for 30k...It doesn't make any sense. Twice the motor does not mean twice the money, if your picking up on what im laying down. I looked for 10 minutes and stock 4.6 can do 400-450rwhp stock internals, anything over that your gonna need bearings, rods, pistons, arps, gaskets, and yeah you can do cams and head work.
@jakubgt1 Acutally motor builds like this, sleeved block and balanced bottom end with chromoly piston rings. That motor will last years. I know by experience, my integra boosted at 14 psi boost 440whp lasted me 6 years and then decided to go back to all motor.
@toxiclown69 If you launch into the powerband, it's no different than low rpm torque. Also with these high revving engines, you can gear LOW because you have a long way to rev.
normaly i hate honda engines, absolute powerless, but their vti engines are very good, never have driven something better for this price class. you feel like formula one!

I don't know why all these people hate on civics. I drive an em2, it's not fast at all, but the gas mileage it gets is amazing.
