if the Yankees could land Sasaki this would make this one of the best off seasons the Yankees have had in history. what a arm he would make the yanks rotation the best in baseball.
The Yankees have 6 open 40 man roster spots. They are currently about $33 million below last years payroll. They need a 1B, 3B/2B, and probably 2 setup relievers. Great moves since Soto left for the Mets though.
Matsuzaka chose the Red Sox, Tanaka the Yankees, Darvish the Rangers, Imanaga the Cubs, and Senga the Mets for their first MLB team. There have been a few Japanese players in the Yankees, but Yankees don't have somebody influential/relevant in Japan like Ichiro with the Seattle Mariners, Ohtani with the Dodgers, or Darvish with the Padres, which is why the Yankees don't have any edge with Japanese players. In contrast, the Dodgers have had Japanese scouts based in Japan, and were scouting Ohtani and Sasaki since highschool years. Mets may be able to make a convincing pitch because they have the former GM of Angels who successfully recruited Ohtani. The GM who recruited Darvish to the Rangers is now with the Padres. If we can ignore the climate/weather factor, I think the Dodgers, Padres, Mets, and Mariners are the teams that have a realistic chance with signing Sasaki.
The Yankees have Matsui, Chiropractor, and Tanaka who btw is Sasaki's favorite player. Although as a Yankee fan I don't see him signing here. I feel San Diego with Darvish. But then again this guy is gonna wanna get paid eventually and only a few teams can/will do it.
@@bootman716Who is Chiropractor?? When did he play????? What country is it from???????????What position does Chiropractor play????Always thought that Chiropractor was a career not a position in baseball nor a baseball player,so who is this new guy called Chiropractor????
So Hal is going to have 16 managers in 16 years, get a new GM every other year, tell his managers in game how to manage, trade away all the young prospects for over the hill players, and hire a Private Investigator to dig up dirt on Judge??
He is a Dodgers or the Mets. Nothing to see here move on. Roki sasaki is doing what Yamamoto did last year. Sign Luis Arraez a contact hitter for 1st base and then call it a season. Next year prepare to sign Kyle Tucker and Dylan Cease in the free agency.

@mawproduced I totally agree this a huge waste of time. We are not getting any young Japanese players. The meetings are in California, hint hint. I wonder why he’s in California 😅.

Hell yeah yankees to take him roki ..go cashman smart sign to roki sasaki? Also 1B and 3B too alll go get him 🤞🤞🙏🙏🏆💯💪💪
Sasaki needs to be in the draft. This is getting effing ridiculous that Japanese sign only in the west coast.
I would agree but he is an interesting case sacrificing a lot of money just to play in the us now

Psychologically they say the 1st & last meetings are usually the most memorable
Aside from him,the team that offers the most amount of money is the team the player usually signs with.
Oh lord please I hope lil hal don't blow this i hope he does this as hes pops would 🙏

I’m just really not getting my hopes on this one. He’ll likely go to the west to play with the Dodgers or possibly the Padres
Hes a Mariner Ryan
Should be considered tampering. Hes a dodger and anyone that talks to him should get punished lmaooo
Roki to the Bronx would feed families, definitely unlikely though unfortunately
Lmaoooooo why?
More money helps.

Then There's Reality: Dodgers or Padres?
Another Yamamoto mindset👎
Why are Yankees wasting their time
No harm in tryin' broski 🤷♂️.
Wdym this is one of the best pitchers(although they should be focused on some 1st baseman😅)

Unless the player comes out and says Yankees have no chance you go after this incredible talent all day, everyday....
Why do I see TJ in this kids future?
In California because he is signing with the Dodgers. They just pretending its fair.
4 a dodger fan u sho like bein on yankee sites
