As children we forget how anyone did wrong to us .. so easily . Both parties forgive each others wrongdoings so easily. I don't know how we lose that as adults.
Sorry, I disagree. To me it seems he was hiding his hurt to try to get them to stop bullying him. And sometimes, what happens to a child can lead to long-term psychological scars that take years/decades of active effort to heal.
When they threw that milk at Joseph and he flinched, that broke my heart so much that I cried. That poor little sweet child. imagine how SCARY it must be to start a new school (late) and you're THE ONLY person of a different color in that school/class. It just breaks my heart. @@notgadot Thanks for pointing out what a dumb AmeriCan i am! I guess you missed the point and only saw your pet peeve. I have them too, but would never point it out if someone was talking about something so emotional. Way to go!
Some of us had that experience, and the teachers were more racist than the children. Children get their perspectives from the views expressed, overt or implied, by the adult world around them.
This made me think on when in 1965 I was the only black boy in a private boys school I was bullied. Became school fencing champion and found the connection between boxing and fencing. My best friend from school and I still talk at least once a month.
Glad you still have your friends. Went to a small parochial school. All white. When I was in 8th grade we finally got our first black student. He was quite popular. He must have had a field day. We all wanted to hang out with him because he was 'different', and he was very nice.
This kind of reminds me of when I was in the 6th grade in 1978 or 1979. We had this mean and very strict teacher. There was a new girl from Vietnam . She was always quiet and very shy. There were 2 kids behind her teasing her. The girl walked to the teachers desk crying - full of tears. The teacher told her to go to the restroom and wash her face. Once the girl left the teacher screamed at the 2 bullies saying "How dare you pick on that poor girl... " She then yelled at all of us about how we should be more welcoming to people from other countries and how many of them have it rough to try to learn a new language and start a new and better life. At the time I didn't put 2 and 2 together to think about the Vietnam war just 4 years from then. Looking back the teacher was strict...but she wasn't mean.
I think that today the strict no violence policies in many US public school systems are better than we had it in the 60's and 70's. Some teachers would even laugh at the small boys who were mercilessly picked on by boys twice our size. A few times I had to just give up in massive frustration, and slug a bully hard in the face repeatedly, to make the point that further bullying would have consequences, at least with me. I was smart enough to take action within shouting distance of a teacher (and I didn't always win while sending a clear message), and at least I didn't get in trouble when the bully said I started it, and I pointed out that the bully started it six months or so before. Finally I had a big growth spurt and lifted weights for two years, effectively ending me being an easy target, but many children aren't so lucky. I was really impressed with the quiet but effectively and minimally violent way the new boy was able to demonstrate that you do NOT want to escalate violence against him. And you could see how even with all the evidence, how clueless the teacher was to actually control the bully without clear and uncompromising policies toward bullying.
This Short film made me cry. This kid had to watch his father die in front of him. Those flashbacks while he was laughing reminded him of his father. This is so eye-catching! I love this so much! Thank you for this short film :D! Please don't give up on the hard work. Appreciate it God bless
She led that boy on. Teachers must be very careful with gullible minds. Nowadays there's too much mental instability, corrupt TV shaping our children's minds and behaviors and faulty parenting at home. Nice ending tied up in a little bow, but this movie's sobering message about gun control, weapons in the home within a child's reach, and how violence creeps into a child's heart at such an early age without conflict resolution and personal interaction skills, shows things could've gone way south.
I was sad for the new boy, of course, but I'm stricken my how accurate this is when it comes to friendship. Little boys have a knack for "fighting it out" and becoming friends afterwards. It's so interesting.

excellent picture of what actually happens in a classroom, and how kids can usually work their issues out by themselves : ) Thumbs up for this lovely story!
It's not what actually happens in a classroom, and bullying is not a group of kids having issues that they can 'work out by themselves'. Bullying is deliberate torment and singling out of one person and it is rarely resolved in the way depicted in this video. It is a nice film to watch but do not confuse it with real life school plz.
It really points up how seriously children in under developed countries take the opportunity for a good education and how flippant children in first world countries treat it. Perhaps we should seriously consider eliminating free education.
Joseph has character He knows the other two are weak students He knows violence is not the answer He managed to change all that TEACHERS and PARENTS should know that weak students prefer to cause trouble than admit their weakness TEACHERS should help them improve and gain confidence Period!!!
Bruh, it is the strong students that cause trouble, weaklings that are minding their own business are the frickin victims. Parents and teachers can't help, a boomer like you wouldn't know, but have you ever heard about,'grassing' or 'snitching', all that is going to do is cause more unrest and troubles. So please don't talk about things you have absolutely no clue about.
I was a foreign student at Carysfort National School in Dublin at the age of 5 (1997-2000) and this film took me back to those years. Some of my classmates did not like me much and some even had the audacity to say mean things, but my overall experience was good. I liked those times

This short shows how life can be tough, hard, but life will also build confidence, happiness, friendships, and strength. Get back up, try again, and do not give up!
Everything is so well done, the shots, right from the beginning with a focus on the new kid's neck, beautifully filmed. The timing of the 2 separate blasts is creative. Hollywood could learn from this. The script is great, not overdone unlike mainstream. The actors finish it off well. The details make it worth re-watching. Top notch.

Daniela you are a boomer who has no idea what was wrong with this video
Daniela ok boomer
It's not what actually happens in a classroom, and bullying is not a group of kids having issues that they can 'work out by themselves'. Bullying is deliberate torment and singling out of one person and it is rarely resolved in the way depicted in this video. It is a nice film to watch but do not confuse it with real life school plz.
Imagine if this was a serie,i would definitely watch it till the end.
This shows how diffrent the contries are compared to eachother.
It’s not countries,it’s different cultures, different races and different looks. The world hasn’t moved on and accepted people for who they are.
It really points up how seriously children in under developed countries take the opportunity for a good education and how flippant children in first world countries treat it. Perhaps we should seriously consider eliminating free education.
who else has this in there recommended 12 yrs later lmao

Joseph has character He knows the other two are weak students He knows violence is not the answer He managed to change all that TEACHERS and PARENTS should know that weak students prefer to cause trouble than admit their weakness TEACHERS should help them improve and gain confidence Period!!!
yes..this
Bruh, it is the strong students that cause trouble, weaklings that are minding their own business are the frickin victims. Parents and teachers can't help, a boomer like you wouldn't know, but have you ever heard about,'grassing' or 'snitching', all that is going to do is cause more unrest and troubles. So please don't talk about things you have absolutely no clue about.
Teachwrs can only try. God help us.
You are absolutely alright🙌

I was a foreign student at Carysfort National School in Dublin at the age of 5 (1997-2000) and this film took me back to those years. Some of my classmates did not like me much and some even had the audacity to say mean things, but my overall experience was good. I liked those times
Why did I cried and laughed with joy at the same time. This was so surreal. His smile is precious😭❤️❤️
I come back to this film all the time. Been doing that since 2009. Can't believe how the time has passed but the world seems the same..
His smile at the end. :-)

Yes it’s Joseph’s father he called him father
Everything is so well done, the shots, right from the beginning with a focus on the new kid's neck, beautifully filmed. The timing of the 2 separate blasts is creative. Hollywood could learn from this. The script is great, not overdone unlike mainstream. The actors finish it off well. The details make it worth re-watching. Top notch.
the little boy in the role of Christian, looks vaguely like the one in "Billy Elliott". Is he? I wonder when this video was made.
It's been 10 years I'm just now watching it😂😂😂
