I just picked up an 06 with about 7k miles on it, it has a Mivv shorty system on it, it sounds very similar. Absolutely in love.

I missed it as soon as I sold it!
I had to buy baffles for my akrapovic system on my tuono it was just too loud and didn't run as good without them.great bike though I love it and you very rarely see another on the road which is cool.
Not really sure why we don't see more on the roads, still One of my favourite bikes!
Best color scheme I have seen, tossing up between one of these or a 2010 Z1000 hhmm..
The One thing I would say between the Z1000 and The Tuono1000R, is the Z1000 feels far more like you are riding "over" the bike? the tank is smaller and the riding position is more forward, so you really feel like you are over the front wheel, personally I prefer the Tuono as you sit back more, and it feels like there is more bike in front of you (hope that makes sense) but parts are far easier to source for the Z1000, and any garage can work on the Z1000, where as the Tuono needs a specialist, and parts can be a pain to get here in UK - tuning the Aprilia needs codes which are only available to Aprilia dealers or "Aprilia Performance" so if you want an easy option go for the Z1000, but if you like to stand out from the crowd, and like a V-Twin sound then the Tuono is far better - cruising on a Z1000 you are around 7000 RPM at 110 KPH (80 MPH) but the Tuono is around 4.500 RPM - so the Z1000 always sounds like its screaming!!
I loved my Tuono twin. THe previous owner punched the stock pipe baffles, so it sounded a lot like yours. Great handling.

The rear hugger decal was on the bike when I bought it, but you can them here below, although I'm sure there are other companies who sell them, or ask on the Tuono FaceBook group page, someone there should know . the exhausts came direct from Delkevic website 😁 - eBay item number 265481334905
looks good and sounds great, Question if you don't mind.. The short extensions from the headers to the muffler, I see they slide inside the original exhaust, is that a good sealed fit ? Ive just bought a set for my bike and that just doesn't seem correct. As the original mufflers slide over the outside, which makes more sense . Appreciate your input.
If I remember correctly these fit OVER the original link pipes, not inside? and Delkevic actually supply a tube of exhaust sealant when you buy the exhaust, plus the clamps, so the seal is very good :)

D and K make them pipes ,,Newcastle underlyme ,, make them pipes infact when I picked up my speed triple (2011) plate they used my bike to make some of there pipes fit a speed ,, Do you still own your speed triple . . ..? Thanks Shane

just wondering if you got the roughness tuned out and if you did what was it in the end. Seeing as they are straight through pipes I wondered if it could be that you needed to change to map 2. I ask as I have the exact same bike and want to buy the same pipes.
I'm pretty certain it needed to be changed to map 2 - but I never managed to get it done, as the closest place that could do it, was around 100 Miles away, and I ended up selling the bike anyway. Great choice by the way, I do miss the Tuono a lot, and the sound of the pipes!

Yes that's One of the reasons I ended up selling it, the Stator was starting to show signs of giving up! very common on these bikes
