Thank you for the tutorial I bought the slave cylinder and after following some certainly dubious tutorials I discovered yours and I was able to install the Oberón successfully. Now my gen 1 has a clutch in conditions again thank you very much, receive a cordial greeting from Tenerife Canary Islands Spain
You´ve inspired me to replace the original clutch slave cylinder on a Falco with an Oberon. So far it seems to work fine. And you are right about the bleeding part. It can be a bit tricky, but I think patience is key when doing it.
I note this bike has a frame slider attached to the engine mount. My gen1 frame was destroyed by one of these! When it went down the road the slider bolt bent back and cracked the frame in the process! Please install the sliders somewhere else to avoid a totaled bike!
Thanks for another brilliant video Griff. I will definitely change my leaking oem slave cylinder. When i pull the clutch it squeeks, i assume this comes from the leaking cylinder? I hope it’s nothing worse. Cheers mate!
just a quick tip if you've got stock clutch lever (probably same on CRGs etc) .. there's an adjustable pin that engages the piston and once you swap from old clutch chamber to new Oberon it may end up in too far thus dragging the clutch & causing the bike to overheat whilst the clutch is partially engaged & slipping. How do I know ... well I learned the hard way.
Griff, my Futura started creeping forward when then clutch lever was pulled in. Checked the reservoir, not much fluid left in it. Checked the slave cylinder,no sign of any leaks.I replaced the slave cylinder seal last year.Does this mean I need to replace the slave cylinder? Advice appreciated.
It keeps a little pressure on the lever and closes off the master cylinder , makes the bleeding after fitting a little easier ! I hope it helps cheers griff
I would have done 100% fluid change, it looks dirty. Motul racing dot 4 to compliment this great slave cylinder. I have this on Dorsoduro 900 and it's so much better.
I got myself the same Oberon slave cylinder in combination with a new BREMBO 19rcs clutch pump. I did this because of my injured left hand. Unfortunately it didn't lighten operating the clutch. Even 2 motormechanics wonder. It feels I threw my money away. Any suggestions Griff??
Isn't 19mm larger than the stock clutch master? That would make it more difficult to pull the lever. Sounds like the 19 may have undone the improvement the Oberon made.
I think, im having issues with the lever not bleeding after the swap. Tried both stock and aftermarket, and can't can't the pressure build after the swap to the oberon

Making the seemingly difficult, easy. Many thanks for another great tutorial. Keep up the excellent work!
This is a great video. Griff is a Major Dude!!
No school like old school! Well done gentlemen.
Something else to add to the list. Just ordered the dog bone bearings. Another top video. Thanks Griff and team.

Great video
First of all great instruction video. I wonder could you advise me if a new Mounting Plate CLU-7120 is also necessary?
Great video - keep them coming 👍
Hi pal nothing to do with this video but how do you alter the time on the aprilia gen 2 please thanks
Does the slave have to come off to change the front sprocket on a touno 2003 gen 1 🤔
Good video
Does the RCS16 work with this slave cylinder?
I’m fitting one at the weekend, why do you need to pull in the clutch to put pressure on the system please?

Nice video! What does fitting the band do to help with replacing the cylinder?
It keeps a little pressure on the lever and closes off the master cylinder , makes the bleeding after fitting a little easier !

I won't to replace the banjo bolt what size is it

How much of a difference does the Oberon make?
It can reduce the pressure by upto 30% 👍🏻👍🏻

Did you ever figured this out bro? I have a similar injury and struggle to operate the clutch

9:17 wipe off that brake fluid better next time Griff lol 😓

Does this fit a Gen 1 rsv mille?
