Those cans are for collect the oil from the powervalves; this is not a standard feature, as the original covers don't have holes, so oil keeps inside the cylinders.

I have a MK1 'Biaggi' and a MK2 Cup bike that I'm rebuilding. Not sure how much Jimmy weighs but at 170lbs American (77 kg), I was very happy with the spring that Sean @ TTW sells plus a little heavier on the fork oil. Also a Penske double-adjustable. The MK2 seat fits the MK1 and adds some legroom. A Zeeltronic with a quick shifter installed makes for extra fun too. My MK1 has Wiesco pistons, Tyga left-right pipes, VHM heads with 11.8cc chambers, 0;9mm squish, and a hacked up airbox. 67 at the wheel on a Dynojet 200i (I think) on pump gas. Quite a blast. EDIT: It occured to me that I haven't said anything at AP doesn't know already. :)

Nice project you've got there! These bikes are getting harder to find... You probably allready know this, but check the power valves. And the oil check valves. They tend to leak after a bike has been sitting for a while. I’d just replace them. Engine parts are easy to source from Suzuki, Aprilia parts are getting scarce these days. Btw: I think the idea with the 2 catch cans is to drain excess oil away from the powervalves. Anyway, good luck with the restoration!

Whenever the day comes when I can afford a bike again, you guys are No.1 on the list as always fancied an Aprilia but had no confidence in buying used which is going to be my budget - cheers 😎

My brother has one of these sitting in his shed ready for restoration. It had been a track bike, took four years to find a genuine fairing in good condition.

If the engine is cold and oil level is so high.....there is too much oil for sure.

just pulled mine while doing an oil change to make sure it would come out. The toothpick didn’t work but I cleaned the hole with alcohol on cotton swabs then stuck a big (150cc) syringe in and pulled the plunger while pulling back the syringe and it popped right out. love your videos
