In a lot of ways it IS modern. For it to have worked at all, it needed an engine management system that is like a modern aircraft, but also unusual for something of that era. It's also one of, if not THE first fly-by-wire civilian aircraft. About the only thing that truly gives away the age is the flight engineer's station. I wonder what a modernised glass cockpit for Concorde would have looked like? And of course it's aerodynamics are quite unlike any civilian aircraft before or since.
More modern looking than the planes actually being made today. As a kid I was hoping everybody would be flying in SST's by the 21st century, like imagine an updated Concorde with an A350-style cockpit. At least I've been in a plane with a similar cabin cross-section, the CRJ 200.
That would be the Brooklands Museum in Weybridge, part of Concorde was manufactured on this site and they run proper guided tours with stewards, well worth a visit if you are in the UK www.brooklandsmuseum.com. 👍🏻
I live in Sinsheim and I visited this Museum very often when I was a child. The tilt of the airplane is actually really steep. And you have, like you said, really climb up to the cockpit, espacially in the Turpolev. As there was no more room for more aircrafts in Sinsheim the museum expanded to Speyer. There they also have a Lufthansa 747, in which you can enter the the cargo space. In Speyer is also a lot of other cool tech like the space shuttle Buran, or an actual submarine. In Sinsheim therefore are a lot of cool cars, like the fastest in the world. Or a few WWII tanks. Both museums are great because you can enter every single vehicle thats in the museum. (Yes you can go inside the space shuttle) If you are near Speyer or Sinsheim in Germany you have to visit them.
I'm not because I was there last August, and entered the Concorde and the Tupolev! There are also some other small planes you can enter at that museum.
I’ve been to that museum. It was really cool to actually see the inside of the planes, not to mention all the other stuff they had there. Now I can tell my teachers that Ive been on a concorde even though they were retired before I was born
Just know that people who bought tickets were paying for the speed not the luxury. The luxury only came later when it established itself as a status symbol. The people who flew often didn’t pay for their own ticket, their company paid for it, they were businessmen who needed to be the other side of the world very quickly
Yeah In French, it's not "De la Concorde" but "Du Concorde" (Yes I'm French, me in my head "Omg, la faute d'orthographe... :'C" (Omg, the misspelling... :'C)).
I’m in this museum today and it’s empty. Now it’s really a good time to visit it. I was alone in the Concorde and TU-144, there weren’t any people. Other aircraft are also nice, you can get into a lot of them and it feels a bit like you’re flying because they’re tilted.
My wife’s parents flew on the Concord from JFK New York USA to London. Her father was a Director for Travel group. He complained how small the interior of the Concord vs First Class in a 747. Being almost Six foot tall he was bent over walking down the isle. The next time he had to fly to London or Paris he wanted the comfort of a large jet. Thank you very much for the video. Unfortunately he passed a few years back. You video helped us visualize what he talked about several decades ago. From your friend in Detroit Michigan USA
WOW! I actually was there last August! And I went into that concorde! And also the Tupolev! BTW there are also a couple other planes you can enter in the Tecknik Museum.
Head to Bristol, UK and you can see the Concorde museum and head inside the cockpit as well it has simulators and instruments that still work as well as loads of other old planes. It’s at the Airbus HQ where the Concorde was built.
I’d love to see the B747-200 museum. The dash 200 for some reason is my favorite: 1. B747-200 2. B747SP 3. B747-100 4. B747-300 5. B747-400 6. B747-8i I guess the next video will be on the Tu-144, the crazy Russian supersonic and I’m excited for it! Nice job on the video! 👍
There’s a Concorde tour in Manchester, England where they take you around the plane (inside and out) and explain everything about it and show you around the cockpit as well. Great vid love your channel
I saw a Concorde at the Seattle air and space museum:) If u can, I recommend a visit. They have a shuttle u can go into, a air force one, and a ton of other planes.

Went to the Concorde while I was in England. I would bought a first class ticket if I had to go on one those would be a little too cramped for my liking in economy class. Such a shame we never did improve on the Concordes design to have more supersonic airliners.
I used to work in TBC at Heathrow above the Concorde hangar. Used to see them every day, but I still get a buzz even just watching a video. I've got a photo of me sat in the captains seat on BOAD. Still treasure it.
