"You'll probably have more time cleaning up your airbrush then you will painting." So true.
But I LOVE what that airbrush can do for my projects!
*Nice to see weathering detail has not been lost. So many planes today are assembled out of the box and tossed in the air, without much attention to the added realism.*
*Great video ... and it's really not that hard to grunge up an airplane to make it look scale and more realistic.*
Excellent video! I just got my first airbrush system and I am wanting to do a very realistic weathering job on my ESM Corsair so your techniques are really going to help me immensely so thank you!
Good tips. The model looked great with the weathering.
Excellent video. i have been using these methods for years and as you said, the secret is sublety.
I would like to add that one time when cleaning my airbrush out. I stumbled upon a method to simulate oil/hydraulic leaks.
Water your paint down to almost nothing. Get in VERY close and start spraying. a tiny puddle will occur then the air will push the micro streaks of liquid back (so apply this in the direction of airflow would be on the real thing in flight). The micro droplets ended up leaving streaks 1-2mm wide and it looked exactly like a real leak in the airflow. Practice this on paper, then something where the liquid will not absorb into as much till you get it right. you should have a see through streak. And don't forget, Hydraulic fluid is red.
Thank you! I have this grex airbrush kit. Works great but I’d recommend people stay away from the side feed guns as they take considerably longer to clean between colors😎
Another weathering option is to use charcoal..get a piece of charcoal and a piece of sandpaper and sand the charcoal. Get a paint brush and start painting with the charcoal dust, it does a great job of weathering but you have to add a clear coat over it
Thanks awesome idea 💡 👍
I know it's a long time ago for you but hope you see this,
Will the acrylic clear coat stick to the graphite?
Thanks
Great stuff
Super way kool man
Great video. I was once told you should wear latex gloves so the oils on your hands won't cause issues. Any thoughts to that? Also could you show a video on how you clean your airbrush to change colors and finally storage? Thanks,
Rob shows you some basic weathering and panel line techniques using an airbrush...
what psi you using
Hey guys I went on there web and there was no prices for the air gun and the compressor how much was the one that you guys have
If thats the case then youve got bigger problems than dirt on your plane 😂😂
dont rate your airgun, it pulses
