You are going to need more energy to separate hydrogen from oxygen than you are going to produce by uniting them. The Laws of Thermodynamics haven't been repealed.
So, you just can't run a car on water. You can use solar plant to produce electricity to make hydrogen and oxygen from water, and then pump the hydrogen into a vehicle to power it, but that's quite different.

The problem is that you have to break the first and second laws of thermodynamics to make a truly water powered car. Hydrogen is easy to produce, but the process is only 60-70% efficient (the energy it takes to generate the HHO is far less than what can be exctracted from its combustion) Even if it was 100% efficient you are still no better off that just using an EV directly, rather than double converting electricity to hydrogen then to motion

Ammonia is promising as an energy storage ‘device’ because it is a liquid at room temperature, contains a lot of energy, and has no carbon. Ideally you could pump ammonia into a car and have it produce only water and nitrogen gas, which are harmless and common low energy chemicals. We just need… well some catalyst which will allow us to take the energy of conversion and turn it directly into electricity to power the car. Nitrogen in the air is very low energy because N2, has a powerful triple bond, which is very hard to break. Converting NH3, ammonia to N2 and H2O should produce a lot of energy if you can harness that energy.

Please listen. Physics can involve calculus, which is difficult to understand. But you don’t have to understand calculus to know the basics of physics. There is a simple law called conservation of energy and unless you are talking about a nuclear reaction, this law is always correct. Energy cannot be created or destroyed- only converted from one form to another. A car converts chemical energy in the form of battery chemistry or fuel into kinetic energy and eventually into heat. Gasoline is just hydrogen being ‘contained’ chemically by carbon atoms. Ideally, a gas car produces only water and carbon dioxide as results of combustion. The problem is that in real life, the ideal combustion doesn’t occur. Most of the gas burns and produces these two mostly harmless and common chemicals (these are the chemicals we animals exhale in every breath), but there are enough contaminants in gasoline and air that the result is far less harmless. Some of the gas doesn’t burn and contaminates our air with gasoline and other hydrocarbons. Sometimes the fuel has sulfur compounds which create pollution, and sometimes nitrogen gets involved, producing nitrogen oxides, which are not healthy. And of course carbon dioxide is a greenhouse gas, so that’s not good. The point is that water is a low energy compound and you can’t run an engine on it.

      .

      .
Don’t poo poo research and technology on what you understand today.
      .
You may get blown away tomorrow with breakthroughs.

You don’t have the infrastructure for hydrogen Toyota tried it and it didn’t work so what is RUclips trying to do? I found several things on RUclips that weren’t true.

With so many cars, and each letting out that amount of water vapour, won't the humidity in the air reach dangerously high levels?

      Not really.
The hydrogen produced by such engines also produces water. Just about a quarter less than what is used to produce the hydrogen. Thus meaning the engine can be self-sustaining. Provided of course it can be designed to not allow the exhausted water elaborate or freeze before it flows back to the intake.
