Hi Rachel, years ago when we got hit here in VT by Hurricane Irene, and I was trying to clean up some of the debris, I cut my arm badly with a gross silt-covered piece of wire. A friend brought me some calendula tincture, and showed me how to apply it to my wound. She said it would help my arm heal fast and without scarring, which I couldn't believe, because it was ugly. Well, literally a few days later, I changed the dressing, and the cut looked as though it was already half-healed and would barely leave a mark! This was a gnarly thing, so I was amazed--and that continued. It took about half the time to heal and my skin to rejuvenate as if I had used a storebought creme. Thank you for such a wonderful and meticulously documented video!🌻
Last week I cut my finger so deeply that I thought I would need to go get it stitched up. Instead I bought some skin glue and kept it bandaged. It bled for the first two days. On day three every time I changed my bandage I applied homemade Comfrey salve. I am amazed at how fast it helped the cut heal. It’s almost completely healed in less than a week!
Oil of oregano is just the best! I use it along with coconut oil to alleviate toothache pain. It's so much better than the otc toothache remedies. I put one or two drops in about a half teaspoon of coconut oil and oil pull with it/swish it orally for 10 to 20 minutes. Then I discard it in the trash. Never put coconut oil down the sink drain. It solidifies and can cause plumbing issues. I do this just once or twice each time I have toothache pain and the pain goes away for weeks at a time. Thank you for sharing these recipes. I have always purchased oil of oregano, but have wanted to make some on my own as it can be hard to find sometimes. I'm definitely going to watch your other videos on herbal remedies and give this a try.
Hi Rachel, I like to use almond oil because it has a longer shelf life. Also, adding a few drops (maybe more?) of vitamin E oil to your final oil will prevent it from going rancid.
That was an awesome video, I have been trying to grow some of the same flowers. I didn't realize how helpful they are. I watched the video when you made the oil. I am going to watch it again. Thank you so much for sharing. Have a wonderful holidays time.
I made this same one.i call it Miracle Salve 😅 it works great on bug bites, stings, cuts etc. calendula plantain and comfrey is what i used, heals me right up. Great video i didn't even think about sticks!
I grew up with natural salves and such and I use Mom’s recipe still. As for the household I grew up in - fall- winter, always a tin pan or can on the fire simmering with friars balsam added to the water. LOVE the smell of it and it kills germs. I was never sick growing up 👍. 🙏 GOD be thanked …
Thank you for doing this video, I will definitely be doing this one next year. I did a jewelweed salve since I had a huge patch show up in my garden this year. I took it as a sign to make the salve, I'm always getting poison ivy and it is better to be prepared.
I just got over walking pneumonia. I sure wish I would I have seen this earlier. Even though I was doing mullein man it hit me hard. But I think it could have been worse with out the mullein. Thank u for sharing
You mentioned that oregano oil is a different thing than oil of oregano and you were not talking about it. Ok, I was with you on that. But then you went on to use the term oregano oil several times when I am sure you meant oil of oregano. It would have been nice if you would have edited to add the correct term on the screen. It’s easy to get confused when you’re a beginner in the world of natural treatments.
Hi there Rachel. Thank you for this wonderful video, I learned so much! Quick question though is regarding the plantain; I’ve seen the plantain fruit/ banana sort of looking thing before used in Carabean cuisine but I’m fairly certain this isn’t what you’re talking about. Is there any chance you could show a photo in another’s video of the herb you’ve used here? Thanks so much. Xo happy holidays my friend.
Hi, very awesome information and I'm looking forward to making this. One question, are you sure that was a picture of a yarrow plant? It looked more like wild carrot flowers?
I use commercial, arnica, cream, and arnica oil for bruising and owies I also used a lot of St Johns Wort Oil✨⭐️🌟 for nerve pain and extra dry skin on my feet and hands
Appreciate the detailed breakdown! A bit off-topic, but I wanted to ask: I have a SafePal wallet with USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). Could you explain how to move them to Binance?
I also find it really difficult without a written recipe. I go on Amazon and order the used books. They’re much cheaper. But they have a written recipe.❤❤❤ she’s wonderful and talented to share all this with us😊
Never put things inside the ear canal. If your ears are that bad, go see a Dr. first. Love the idea of putting the salves in a lip balm dispenser. The Nerdy Farm Wife has some good recipes.

That’s amazing! It’s always great to hear from people who’ve had similar experiences.

I added the Herbal Companion book to my collection 🥰🥰🥰
Look into the benefits of willow as well for things associated with pain. ❤ Loving your videos!

I love this video. I made Oregano oil. It’s great drizzled on salads.
Thanks for sharing your recipe Rachel and other herbal related resources.

Thanks for this! I'm allergic to Neosporin and Polysporin so this will help so much!

I Love the Honeystead.

Oh my, I didn't know about the green part, I pulled the blossoms off.

No oregano EO is different than oil of oregano or oregano Infused oil
Yes, I know that, but others might not. You (I think mistakenly) said oregano oil a couple of times.
Great video! God gave us everything we need if we just take time to learn how to use it! My mom always mercurochrome? Bright orange! 😂
Thank you for showing this. My Mom always had that bottled magma I think it was called methiolate? It burned.

Yes, different plant. You can Google it.
Yes, the plantain I’m using here is a weed you might find growing in your yard!
have you done a video on making the elderberry & echinatia tincture ?????
Yes we have
Hi, very awesome information and I'm looking forward to making this. One question, are you sure that was a picture of a yarrow plant? It looked more like wild carrot flowers?
Yep it was yarrow very different leaves than carrot, flower heads are similar but tend to be much smaller
Rachel, do you dehydrate you foliage before soaking in the oil?
It was dried, whether air dried, freeze dried or dehydrated
Is bees wax antifungal and antibacterial like the honey? If so, you could just make a balm or salve with bees wax instead of oil.
What type of oil should i get to add my oregano to?
I like grapeseed oil it’s thinner…
@virginiaallisonpeck2517 Thank you, that is what i have here.
have you ever made an arnica suave for topical pain relief ?
No I haven't
@@1870s I would like to try to make some
I use commercial, arnica, cream, and arnica oil for bruising and owies I also used a lot of St Johns Wort Oil✨⭐️🌟 for nerve pain and extra dry skin on my feet and hands
With yarrow- flowers or leaves or both?
Ariel parts are the parts above ground so both.
Could you use a less expensive olive oil for infusing?
I prefer at least it be cold pressed and 100% olive oil. Usually the inexpensive oils are not 100% olive oil
No seed oils.
I like grapeseed oil because it’s thinner. But she’s making salves, which are also excellent.
I think I’ll make some. A small batch since I only have dried components. Do you have a favorite oregano you like to plant?
❤
Did you not have enough of your own bees wax to use?
Not enough processed cleanly
Can someone tell me the exact measurements? I have watched this twice, and still don't know ..
I was very clear 2 oz of oil and 1 oz of bees wax
I also find it really difficult without a written recipe. I go on Amazon and order the used books. They’re much cheaper. But they have a written recipe.❤❤❤ she’s wonderful and talented to share all this with us😊
A spoon full of honey makes the medication go down
