I'm gonna miss Travis so much, hearing this song live was always an absolute treat with him. Hope your get better as time goes on Travis, wishing you the best of luck.
hoping varials gets the same type of mainstream attention that knocked loose received with laugh tracks, beatdown hardcore/metalcore needs more attention
@@nickcato9758 if you consider that edgy your a plonker. I cant stand trigger warning there for dramatic idiots. Unless its for rape or soilders i find it silly
This sounds like OLD in hearts wake back when they were good. now they're just generic naturecore/politicore. I've never heard of these guys before. needless to say I'm stoked 👍👍
Travis if you read this - you were meant to be a frontman. The battle with dark thoughts is a cruse and a blessing at the same time. We become forged by jumping back on the horse of journey. Neil Fallon of Clutch is the Charles Dickson of lyrics. Travis tell stories like him and blast it threw a mic and do you Bradda. I have been in and out of physic wards for the past 20 years and battled heroin addiction for over 12 years of my life. 42 now clean off smack for 10 years plus. We swim harder against the tide to survive - we need the bumps scraps and bruises of this life to fully enjoy our spiritual afterlife where we keep it going and going. You were mean to be a frontman!!!!
Yeeooooo!! Congrats Varials on gettin signed!! Tight as hell! Danny aka ex Armory member, here! Keep doing your thing! Can't wait to tear up the pit for you guys again!!
tbh I don't really understand all the knocked loose comparisons. tons of bands other than knocked loose have been doing the beatdown thing for a while now -- if anything they sound closer to kublai khan or left behind than they do k//l.
It's got the low bendy guitar line in the verse and the dreamy background guitar in the chorus. Very similar sound to the stuff K//L put out with Laugh Tracks.
Yeah, I mean I see the similarities, I just don't think those are qualities that are worth that comparison when tons of other bands in the same genre do those same things. Kublai Khan (and countless other metalcore bands) have low bendy riffs that are more similar to this than Knocked Loose's riffs are. Code Orange and Jesus Piece have eerie/dreamy guitar leads too. Sure it's certainly not a bad comparison, but I guess I'm just confused to as to why everyone thinks any beatdown band with chuggy guitars is being influenced by K//L lmao
Jellyboi911 You're right. K//L was just the first thing that popped in my head when I heard this song. I agree with the Kublai Khan conparison too, like I always thought Failure//Control had a huge KK vibe to it.
Travis and the whole band really were the nicest coolest dudes ever to meet. What a fucking show. Come back to St Louis soon Ill never miss a Varials show!
1) This is probably the darkest thing I've seen that wasn't real 2) because it goes beyond the tired edgy tropes and is actually kind of scary. I love the fact that the video actually makes sense in the context of the lyrics and actually adds something to the song (most music videos have fuck all to do with the song's actual meaning and I hate that.) I like how it's shot in 4:3 too, and the choice of colors just adds to the morbidity. And the fact that it ends on a cliffhanger with him still alive gives the video an oddly positive potential interpretation. Oh, and of course, GREAT SONG.
Angel Ramirez this is more hardcore than a good portion of the genre. Look at Code Orange with the industrial aspect they took. Varials are taking some influences from metal core and that is a good factor towards why they are bigger than most hardcore bands. No hate to the community, I love all hardcore but this just hits fucking harder than anything I've heard before.
I personally like pretty much every band on the Fearless label except for The Summer Set even tho I heard they broke up. I love As It Is the most and am growing used to Sworn In but the heavier bands like Wage War, The Plot In You, Oceans Ate Alaska, The White Noise they're up there.
I interpret it as he's pushing himself to near-death in all these attempts because he hates himself so much he wants to suffer as much as possible before finally jumping out of a window. The final shot isn't him surviving (he is dead, the flies have come to eat his corpse) it's his spirit traveling to purgatory or hell.
Lets get a Varials, Knocked Loose, and Kublai Khan tour going.
