My gosh I LOVED this show back in the day! Whew, these promos really bring it all back. I know younger people will laugh at the cheesiness but as a kid back then it never bothered me, I was totally into it! Kind of like the early 80s wrestling, Dukes of Hazzard & A-Team. It was all just good, decent fun & I'm SO glad I got to experience it all as a kid back then. Such wonderful memories!
Love how they refer to the feature-length episodes as 2-hour movies or premieres. Makes them feel more like special events in their 2-hour formats and should be viewed this way. The syndicated 2-part versions make them feel less of a big deal. Not to mention the cuts they made to various scenes.
That was definitely the kind of picture quality I remember. No wonder we were warned, as kids, that too much TV would give us square eyes. Thank goodness for DVD quality.
Great video collage guys. I specially appreciated the season 4 only intro with David Hasselhoff's voicover and Michael taking the SPM Kitt for a spin and zipping out of the tunnel pedal to the metal.
Brilliant trip down memory lane. A lovely reminder of the curse of Video cassette recordings with both very questionable sound and image. Beyond the great Knight Rider nostalgia, showing the kids of today the quality on a big screen is very amusing. Thanks so much for sharing Joe - and thanks also for Blu-ray.
Many thanks for sharing these. I remember quite a few of them had me quaffing down dinner and planting my behind at the TV console eager to see the new episode. Also anxiously awaiting my next Fanhome K.I.T.T. kit.
Good Evening Knight Rider Historian and thanks again for another wonderful and spectacular thrill ride of Knight Rider Commercial Classics from the 1980’s Thank God for Knight Rider: The Ultimate and Extraordinary and Spectacularly Awesome and Amazingly Enjoyable Tv 📺 Series of all time!!! Amen, Amen,Amen, Amen!!! 🤗🙏🌎📺😍😁😀😃😄😮🥰💕❤️
Have a chance to meet William this year. He's going to be at Planet Comicon in Kansas City in March. I'll have to bring my small KITT diecast for him to autograph.
I loved the 80's. I dreamed of something like the internet and the modern computer graphics that we have today. But it all seems empty without the interactions of all of us in the 80's. Who knew...
as a gen-xer i find my self really missing those old tv promo spots. the 3rd gen t/a made a great kitt too. more sleak and sophisticated than the z-28.
I was just a baby. One thing me and the 3rd gen Trans Am have in common, we both were born in 1982, and by now we both could use some serious restoration.
Anyone else having flashbacks of a domioes or pizza hut delivery showing up while your picking your spot on the carpet in front of the TV while the commericals burn through ?
I just love the commercials of knight rider I have been watching knight rider since I was a kid and I still watch the today keep up with your videos that you post on RUclips channel and I will talk to you soon Your friend Michael bowen
I really need to dig out my old Betamax tapes, I know there was an NBC promo with scenes from Short Notice in there during the Trust Doesn’t Rust replay
We would LOVE to digitize those Betamax tapes and have the equipment in house to do so. Email us at knightriderhistorians@gmail.com if you are willing to help!
Next time I’m at my dads house, I’ll see if I can rummage through to find the tape. Hopefully it’s survived 40 years in storage. The things I remember as a kid rewatching that tape over and over was the Pilot, Trust Doesn’t Rust, the promo and a Pizza Hut commercial 😅
When I was digitizing all my old VHS recordings a few years ago, I found myself saving the old commercials when I was done. I don't have a recording of the season 4 SPM promo, but I remembered it well. I believe my grades in school were pretty bad for a week or two until Juggernaut aired cause that's all I could think about. Lol Thanks for sharing these. They were great! Missing Goliath Returns though 🤔
I remember seeing that juggernaut episode sold as Knight Rider 2 on a video tape in a record store when I was a teenager. I went back the next week to buy it and it had sold out. That was the one that got away 😅
On Sundays I think like most kids we were watching the hour block of Punky Brewster and Silver Spoons waiting for KR to follow, by '85 when it moved to Friday nights I remember just losing interest by then.
11:33 Signs of the times reaching peak 80's. Although it's visually beautiful, Michael & KITT seem out of place in that setup....or....was it shot on video instead of film?
WHY are these not in the blu ray set??? Also even in the 80's, I would have thought "curtains" would have been a WAY outdated term haha. I was just a kid so all of it is new to me even though I watched every second.
Like a lot of the episodes themselves, they probably didn't think that it would be viewed years later on screens that were clearer then what people had at the time.
Video tapes also Degrade over time, it's said that they had about a thirty year storage life, Resolution would noticeably suffer as well as losing some of the Magnetic material from repeat plays,, on top of today's higher resolution potential to expose the limitations of the predecessor. The old CRT TV sets only had 500 lines of signal to make a picture, unlike the 4K or 1080P sets of today. Just saying.
@johnwilliam384 if the producer's used tape all through production, then likely the modern day DVD reproduction/remaster wouldn't look as good these days. Edit: so, often times they'll use film. if you go watch technology connections film the reason why some of the past was in hd video, you'd get partly what I mean.
Johnny Dark sure did his best to sell every single promo. Compare to the famous Ernie Anderson outtakes doing the same sort of work for ABC. Imagine the insanity if Ernie had been doing VO for NBC.
Nothing like growing up in the 80s. So blessed to have experienced that era. Best decade ever!
That 80s nostalgia hit!

Thank you, KR Historians. I just time traveled 40 years to my youth.
Now we need to find a way to stay there. :)
@@essbe7158 couldn't agree more!
I've now made the commercial break tune my ringtone.
Always with the beautiful villainesses and/or beautiful ladies in need of saving...
Cool Knight Rider promo commercials. Kind of quick preview of all 4 seasons in this video :)

Wow, these are great, I remember all of them when I was a kid.
Now I want to start watching Knight Rider. Good thing I I have it on dvd
Thank you, Joe. I really enjoy watching promos of TV shows, & I really enjoyed all the Knight Rider promos in this video.
Thank you for sharing your promos watching from South Africa
Thank you Joe for the commentary episodes you did. And for adding the music from the "Buyout" episode for the ending credits.
Great video collage guys. I specially appreciated the season 4 only intro with David Hasselhoff's voicover and Michael taking the SPM Kitt for a spin and zipping out of the tunnel pedal to the metal.
It's the good old days once again. Thanks for the blast from the past Joe. Wish I could go back in time to help Kimosabe and our old buddy.😎

I wasn’t born in those days of the 80’s. But I watch it now on DVD. However the voice being used is interesting.🙂
The promos reveal Knight Rider was able to stay pretty awesome for 4 years
The 2 hour specials ruled!

Now I get the "True Survivor video" reference with David and the car...
I love this !! Really awesome I love me some Knight Rider best show ever!!❤️❤️❤️❤️💯

I love the ads! I do remember the song and them saying “ be there!”
That bring back wonderful memories, thanks for the excellent video recap.

I remember seeing that promo for the first appearance of Goliath the wee of that episode's first airing.

Ah, "The Powers of Matthew Star" was in one of the promos. I forgot about that show.

Excellent!
KITT's opinion of Season 3... "Oh my..."
Put in my led lights last week (for an Audi). Got pulled over right away since it’s not allowed😂
my boy went from Friday to Sunday ;-)
On Sundays I think like most kids we were watching the hour block of Punky Brewster and Silver Spoons waiting for KR to follow, by '85 when it moved to Friday nights I remember just losing interest by then.
2:41.. headlights!
11:40 - perhaps the Super Pursuit Mode would have been a good idea if whole Knight Rider show was changed into dark cyberpunk genre.
Jumping the actual cars not the lightweight stunt car took some guts or a screw loose, probably need both!
Amazing 🎉
This is great archival footage, Joe. Any additional leads on the original pilot presentation footage?
11:33 Signs of the times reaching peak 80's. Although it's visually beautiful, Michael & KITT seem out of place in that setup....or....was it shot on video instead of film?
Knight Rider. 😎
I love hoe some of the footage was mirrored for the trailers XD
Sure different than today's shows and commercials.
The Slammy Sammy Stunt Show Spectacular just spoiled K.I.T.T.'s later voice box, lol
Good stuff man💯💯✅
Awesome. 😎
Did anyone called the 1900 number for the new kitt in season 3 and 4
Okay now I have not seen these in a coin's age . Thank you for this .If you guys come across the one from U S A network put it on please thanks.
6:12 - you can see it's a toy car.
Is that the same Creek from The Dukes of Hazzard jump

I too was talking to my Trans Am today...first time in ten years!
(but I wont turn her into a KITT lol)
Was there an early promo for Knight Rider that featured the General Lee with 00 on the side...?
Yep, check out our video called "Competition is No Competition" to see that very commercial!
0:50 steering wheel opinion? hmmm

I would like a list of everything that is different in 40th vs Millcreek entertainment
"You've got your dashboard to keep you company" ? Yea KITT's got more personality than that Brat! 😆😆
Pish posh, this show had nothing on Knight Boat. Except for sandbars.
Hi
I wish for a Video from All stunt cars / jump car some technical stuff : )
Best wish

Have you tried using AI to increase the resolution?
What for? That's how TV looked.
@@FirstDan2000 Tv did not look or sound like that. It's vhs tapes gone bad.
