Sometimes, maybe late summer, I get hundreds of them in the backyard and the sounds they can come up with are incredible and often goofy or comical. Its a joy to hear.
I am just amazed. How is he doing that? I love to watch him use his throat. Just incredible control and it's apparent he's really into it. The rang of volume along with the repertoire of sounds is incredible. I wonder how many different sounds he knows? Imagine not just his skill, but his memory of every note, the timing. All of it. Incredible video. Can't wait to forward this to my daughter and grand daughters. They're going to love it!
Incredible friend you have there. I’m so curious if you have played beck his slow motion sounds to see his reaction. Would be funny if he started doing slow motion!
Apparently recorded bird calls were used for some of the dinosaur sound effects in Jurassic Park. Seems appropriate, given birds are believed to be descendents of a particular breed of dinosaur 🦕 I loved this, l hear starlings all the time, but never close or slowed down ❤
That is rewally awesome. I recently stumbled over recording merls/blackbirds in the morning/evening and it sometimes sounds like wales singing and monkeys in the jungle with so much detailed articulations. I often ask myself if they can decode the sound as fast as they decode pictures per second. Some birds see 150-180 frames per second what is pretty impressive compared to our 23-24 frames. I recorded a few because i want to sample and make some music with em.
In England their is an outdoor market. You can sit down and watch them while having a cup of tea and some fish and chips. It's pretty epic to say the least.
Thank you so much for this beautiful concert. I have just been to a concert today by humans, and now I hear this and am filled with wonder and aware. I had wonderful murmurations of starlings over my home in Wales years ago and that along with blackbirds who now routinely dig up my garden, these often maligned and ignored birds are carriers of communication and beauty we can only dream of.
Absolutely incredible. I subscribed after watching this video. Just played this for my husband. We have a 30 year old Double Yellow head Parrot. I told him I am very disappointed his vocabulary 😂
I like to imagine this is what the dinosaurs sounded like, every time I hear it I can imagine walking through a dense rainforest full of life and sounds just like these and many more
Dinosaurs probably sounded like birds. Birds are the closest descendants of dinosaurs. You have to consider the size of dinosaurs and birds in relation. Dinosaurs were much bigger than birds what made them sound slower and deeper. As birds are much smaller their sound ist more like sped up and high pitched. But for birds they perceive their own sounds in "normal" speed and pitch. But as we humans are much bigger than birds our perception of time is not the same what makes them sound faster and higher pitched for us.
Very kewl!! I love when they make the "dinasaur sounds". I wonder where they pick THOSE up from. I could listen to these awesomeclittle Starlings ALL the time!! TY 4 sharing.💜
Made my day. Reminds me to the underrated language of hens, even if the song of starlings is no composition of meaningful elements. But it tells us that we tend to overrate our knowledge.
For weeks I heard in the distance kids playing in the schoolyard, but there isn't a schoolyard anywhere near my house. Then I discovered the starling at the top of my roof.
I imagine this is partly what the Jurrassic era sounded like in some places.
Yh reminds me of the 1st movie jurassic park sounds hehe
Came here to say this
🤓 I mean birds are technically dinosaurs
Would these sounds be heard in the Jurassic specifically? I was thinking of a different era.
I wonder if they've ever used slowed-down present-day birdsong to evoke prehistoric times in films?
I love how their throat feathers seem to accentuate the sound coming from them 😂

It's unbelievable, just amazing! This lovely little guy ist truely a great STAR!
The fact that there is an echo chamber sound. Amazing, not to mention the range of the sounds themselves.

I love the motor revving and the computer sounds. He's cool!!! And the arena echo. That is some serious sound control.

That was extremely cool I'd imagine that is what dinosaurs sounded like except much much louder.
What a special bird 🥰🐦⬛
I'm 1000% sure that George Lucas was inspired by a European Starling when he was looking after a sound for R2-D2.
Sin duda alguna que fué así !!👍
Ben Burtt (the sound designer) came up with R2 using a sythn and baby sounds

2023 Chicago, Illinois, USA: I've noticed the starlings that nest in the porch rafters across the alley sing a tuneful song.
Amazing bird
Very neat. Take samples for the next Star Wars films
That was so cute.
I can say with the utmost confidence that no dinosaur ever said " who's my jabby angel"
