I've been out of action this past week with food poisoning so I spent a few days base building while my energy was low but in hindsight I wish I'd livestreamed my early experience with this game as I really didn't think it would click with me the way that it has. Have you guys been playing Once Human at all?

I am a huge fan of how the monetization was approached in this. There truly is no p2w, no paywalls, no bs like we've gotten used to with typical f2p monetization. Even the Season Pass's premium rewards track is 100% cosmetics, with all functional items being on the Free track. Massive respect to the devs for not just a great game, but a great monetization approach that leaves more people willing to support them instead of relying on methods that detract from the experience if you don't spend money. Been having a blast with Once Human, fantastic game. And still in its infancy as far as its updates and adjustments based on feedback are going, despite not being early access. A full game where the devs are actively changing the game based on feedback is a rare sight in itself nowadays.

Read their socials and get to know the devs' side of the story before measuring them by the same standard as NetEase as a whole. You're hardly the first person to bring up NetEase's reputation in regards to Once Human. Everything I said is currently 100% true. If that changes for the worse in the future? It was still true when I said it. Trusting NetEase has nothing to do with my opinion of a newly released f2p game and its existing monetization approach.

If you play with friends, you guys can connect bases and make a compound. Have 5 friends connected and we have a MASSIVE base. One building is for farming, one for smelting, another for cooking. With the resonator filter, we have it in the center base with all turrets from each base facing the center for ultimate turret defense.
so this game is just a copy of the first fortnite, where you have to defend and build the base. Press F for this, press F for that, to to there, talk to this npc with poor dialoges... yep, it deserves the goty
@@troscar every game is a copy of the same genre. So you’re on board with saying CoD and Battlefield, or anyone FPS game, is a copy of DOOM. Gotcha. In Once Human, you only have to defend your base once you start a filtration for a currency. Other than that, you build for looks, efficiency, or both. I built an 8story tall modern looking base for the hell ofnit. First floor has all the crafting/storage/gun range, 2nd floor is the “hang out area” and bedroom, third floor has all the deviants, 4th has the plant farm.
The way the character moves shoot and uses telekinesis makes me think of a mix of days gone and control. Even some floating enemies look like control also graphically.
@@Tomographici would really like to have some more power for you'r char, a bit like un Conan Exiles with the sorcery. More magic power = less total health.
I really enjoy this game. It's cool because it can be chill if you want it be, or nuts if you want it to be. Really weird and interesting art direction as well. Hardest part is getting the homies to try it!
haha agree had 50 people + with me at start prob is that serv is full and the people stop playing the elit players rush to max cap wep/armor and in my opinin the ones that got and are geting most value is the few that take it slow i meen the items is endles same goes for the tasks for houses so many things this rushing people miss like it´s a solo game. I was in that boat in this game that why i play 3 serv thing i do really think they need to fix somting with serv ore layers so people can at some point get togater i meen we can copy buildings and why not serv trans? now if you forget about the 5-7 week thing this is cousing people problems and are split up on difrent serv games have fallen for less back in the day
Once Human is hands down the most fun I've had playing a game for a LOOONG time!! My server only just got into phase two and its wild. What a power upgrade after phase 1. Tier 5 weapons and armour. I love this game so much, its like Rust/Division combined into one. PvP servers and PvE, its awesome!
As a former rust player... I know how much time that game took.. to even have any chance.. Do you think 1 to 2 hours a day of playtime is enough for once human ??

Don't forget to save your house as a blueprint so that you can instantly rebuild it, you can even downgrade the materials used to build it, next season. If you want to save a friends base or vice versa, just give them building permissions and they can save the base as a result.
Tomo quick tip use the yellow slime as your deviant companion it will serve as your shield while healing your health and sanity comes in very handy when your sanity is really low 👍

@@nacma2605 it did but a lot of updates later and it is much better. I use it over my desktop top most of the time and that has a 3070 in it. I’m away from home 2 weeks out of the month so, it is what it is.

Another tip Tomo LoL Keep planting mushrooms and you will get a deviant named Growthshroom which will do all the planting and harvesting for you, and all you have to do is give it seeds to plant 👍
This game is absolutely amazing, and is entirely what I've always wanted from an MMO, but what really shines in this game is the community. Every server feels like a big wholesome neighborhood where everyone is looking out for each other. You could be clearing a base and some other people might come along and help clear it, or if you're struggling with a base or a boss, you can literally just say it in chat and someone will end up joining you to help you out. The community is what really ended up getting me addicted, on top of the fun gameplay, no crazy grind meta, no p2w anywhere at all, the cosmetics are actually kind of cool and I've been thinking about buying an outfit....this is one of those games that I'll be playing for a while from here on. I just wish Lost Ark followed this path. That MMO could have been so successful in the west if it hadn't gone so exhaustingly p2w.
i recently came across this game and now i can not stop playing it either. it takes some of the best aspects of the many survival games out there and combines them really well
@Tomographic You can actually export and import characters easily from the game without having to screenshot sliders. You can use those two buttons on the top right to export the character with the three connected dots button and import with the box with the arrow going into it button. Really handy if you spend a ton of time customizing your character only for your friends to start playing on a different server or when you see someone else's cool-looking character and want to recreate it.
I'm 9:45 in, and I'mma let you finish, but before I do I'd like to say that you can build a "tower defense" structure which is a multi-level open tower that has guns at each level. This will allow them to hit from all directions, and the upper level ones can either fire down at enemies or up at the boss. Love the gameplay, let's see how we all feel when we get wiped at the first season reset.

Tomo your Ellie character settings are AMAZING!!! I couldn't duplicate it perfectly though, could you potentially export your character creation settings? Ellie is my favourite character of all time and I'd kill to have those settings!!
One of the more underrated games out their it´s so huge and parts from so many different games in to one and good so people get stuck early ore they run trow it barly enjoy and se 10%-20% of the whole game. Know many people that left because of it it takes some time to get in to it and typical player to day have no stam and steamroll it and play another game ore already playing a game. For you i can understand the super love for it but i do really think they need more things for pvp and deleting old serv so people don´t have to restart because of not on same serv but this game almost feel like a home and endless and i love you can copy you´r base and just put it up again for the star dust you can do it like 5 but you can also bug it in rock if you like am doing it on a pvp serv i never been attacked/griffed on my 3 pvp serv ore raided. best of luck to you.

I'm sad this game is getting so much bad rep because it really is an amazing game. From exploration, gathering resources, combat in between, sci-fi lore to the endless building potential, this game does a lot of things right in a survival genre~! I just love seeing other player's builds grow with you as your world progresses. I have loved my time and can not stop playing Once Human too 😎
The reason I haven't gone near this is because my time to play vs making games is limited, and the moment I saw base building, I knew I would lose all of that time just making my place nice. This was true in Fallout and in any game like it - and, frankly, as much as I love it, I need a game that puts focus on play and not crafting, building, and maintaining.
Good call because you'd make that amazing base and then the season resets and you get to start back at level 1. Sure you can bring some stuff season to season and save your base blueprint but you are grinding again to get the base back to its operational level again. I am playing the game but not looking forward to season reset.
I have to say I am the same. I love building and gathering. I find the lore and world beautiful in a tragic sad way, but also creepy at times. I absolutely love this game. I know their is some controversy with Season, but I just love seeing people's builds. Seeing some of the houses / bases in game are just jaw dropping.
My last base-building game is Valheim. The level of frustration I have placing roofs in this game is crazy high. Sometimes I have to look at the floor to place something on top of a wall. It's really really bad. And the pieces flip themselves around as you're moving them but NEVER flip to the position you want. I hit "O" to take precise control and it literally does nothing. Yes, you can get great end results but I can see why a lot of people don't use roofs or just use the premade generic builds.
For the stardust filter i recommend getting turrets and upgrading to concrete base, it makes the defense a cake walk, i have 2 turrets at each corner of my base and with me my brother and the turrets, we end up waiting between waves
You have to make new guns every couple of levels. they go from tier 1 to 5. also you can "Calibrate" theem which is basically upgrading them even further.
Tomo you gotta try the dungeon that gives you a chance to get the wish deviant, really fun mission where you go into what looks like a kids playpen and it feels like you've shrunk. lol
Expand your base area build your base to the far corner and the purifier on the other corner and yes tier 2 turrets around it and some of your base, it works well just make sure you have 3 friends to help, and use the jelly guy in your cradle, best weapon is scop rifle and steel rounds, that's how Ive been farming on pvp server. but nice house pity it got trashed a bit. save a blue print of it for the server wipe when it comes, but yes its extremely addictive. we got 2430 scrom from running the first run.
Great video highlighting the game. Agree it does hook you. My only worry is the season turn over. I have had fun building up my base and leveling but not too thrilled about doing it again even if I get to keep some items between.
i love this game. played so much of it so far. only issue i have is the 6 week season wipe. i understand the reasoning behind it, but i feel like 6 weeks is WAYYYY to short for a game like this

Your stardust filter, build a room with a door around it within the base.. trust me lol when upgrade base to stone also and get defense like turrets will help major with the attacks
Btw not sure if you know but you can insta repair all the damages by going to your Territory Terminal and repairing it there. It costs you the materials but its alot faster and easier than going by hand
No way, another Tomo in the wild! The algorithm brought me here how funny. Just figured out how to get this game to work on a handheld that uses a controller. Running through the tutorial atm. Man this game looks a bit involved hope I can spare the time to learn with Poe's new league out today. 😅
You can play for 2-3 hours and barely do anything and have a good time. I think that's what these players are truly missing out on crying about the phases and wipes.
Too get electric wires you need too unlock solar panels in the memetics menu and also the other power outlets too run the wires too what ever power source you want
That’s how survival games work? Eventually you hit endgame and there’s nothing to do until wipe, many games wipe biweekly or monthly so they give you plenty of time with the amount of content (there’s also a feature that allows you to take some equipment into the next season)
They will wipe your level and map progress, but you keep important stuff. So you will keep your BP's etc, some mats, and some others which u can transfer via eternaland. But I still hate that I have to lv to 50 again though.
You keep your earned blueprints but anything you've saved is saved so you can remake it again like base layouts, it basically is a prestige system so grind away to get the most essential things now to speed up the early game on wipe Its quite fun
When your putting down the foundation hold alt and use the scroll wheel( on PC) to change height... just figured that out, and after 3 days finally realized when using the furnace I can use a slider from left to right up to 99 items rather then one at a time.
@@mysonrando7789 Another thing many don't realize: When you get a specialization that boosts some item, like the deconstruct bench, you need to build it after you obtain it to get the benefit. Same with pickaxes, solar panels, biomass. You can tell you got enhanced items in building menu when there's that yellow up arrow thingie.
this game has 'almost' everything to be the perfect game for me, i have enjoyed playing the 15 hours or so i put into this before realizing that all those hours are wasted when the game has seasonal resets and then i have to start all over again, for that reason i stopped playing, but the gameplay itself i cannot fault. If you dont mind starting from zero every season, this game is for you

A tip about the snipers (and bows), a lot of them have a multiplier increase per second you hold and aim down sights (usually like 3 stacks).

Tomo your Ellie character settings are AMAZING!!! I couldn't duplicate it perfectly though, could you potentially export your character creation settings? Ellie is my favourite character of all time and I'd kill to have those settings!!

One of the more underrated games out their it´s so huge and parts from so many different games in to one and good so people get stuck early ore they run trow it barly enjoy and se 10%-20% of the whole game. Know many people that left because of it it takes some time to get in to it and typical player to day have no stam and steamroll it and play another game ore already playing a game. For you i can understand the super love for it but i do really think they need more things for pvp and deleting old serv so people don´t have to restart because of not on same serv but this game almost feel like a home and endless and i love you can copy you´r base and just put it up again for the star dust you can do it like 5 but you can also bug it in rock if you like am doing it on a pvp serv i never been attacked/griffed on my 3 pvp serv ore raided. best of luck to you.
Crossbow & lmg combo is the meta for pve, the crossbow is super op not many people use it cos its a "crossbow"
yo save your base in the base menu under blueprints so if it gets destroyed then your all good the pain i felt when i saw your base get chewed up love the game i'm lvl 50 on world 1 exo enjoy bud

I'm sad this game is getting so much bad rep because it really is an amazing game. From exploration, gathering resources, combat in between, sci-fi lore to the endless building potential, this game does a lot of things right in a survival genre~! I just love seeing other player's builds grow with you as your world progresses. I have loved my time and can not stop playing Once Human too 😎
It's freaky how addicting it is. It's totally awesome on just about every level. We'll see how this season reset deal works out.

The reason I haven't gone near this is because my time to play vs making games is limited, and the moment I saw base building, I knew I would lose all of that time just making my place nice. This was true in Fallout and in any game like it - and, frankly, as much as I love it, I need a game that puts focus on play and not crafting, building, and maintaining.
Good call because you'd make that amazing base and then the season resets and you get to start back at level 1. Sure you can bring some stuff season to season and save your base blueprint but you are grinding again to get the base back to its operational level again. I am playing the game but not looking forward to season reset.
The asset design in this game is beautiful
I have to say I am the same. I love building and gathering. I find the lore and world beautiful in a tragic sad way, but also creepy at times. I absolutely love this game. I know their is some controversy with Season, but I just love seeing people's builds. Seeing some of the houses / bases in game are just jaw dropping.
My last base-building game is Valheim. The level of frustration I have placing roofs in this game is crazy high. Sometimes I have to look at the floor to place something on top of a wall. It's really really bad. And the pieces flip themselves around as you're moving them but NEVER flip to the position you want. I hit "O" to take precise control and it literally does nothing.
Yes, you can get great end results but I can see why a lot of people don't use roofs or just use the premade generic builds.
It's really good with friends. Some things suck bawls but 112 hours of fun and frustration, not stopping cant stop playing.
For the stardust filter i recommend getting turrets and upgrading to concrete base, it makes the defense a cake walk, i have 2 turrets at each corner of my base and with me my brother and the turrets, we end up waiting between waves
You have to make new guns every couple of levels. they go from tier 1 to 5. also you can "Calibrate" theem which is basically upgrading them even further.

Expand your base area build your base to the far corner and the purifier on the other corner and yes tier 2 turrets around it and some of your base, it works well just make sure you have 3 friends to help, and use the jelly guy in your cradle, best weapon is scop rifle and steel rounds, that's how Ive been farming on pvp server. but nice house pity it got trashed a bit. save a blue print of it for the server wipe when it comes, but yes its extremely addictive. we got 2430 scrom from running the first run.

Great video highlighting the game. Agree it does hook you. My only worry is the season turn over. I have had fun building up my base and leveling but not too thrilled about doing it again even if I get to keep some items between.

i love this game. played so much of it so far. only issue i have is the 6 week season wipe. i understand the reasoning behind it, but i feel like 6 weeks is WAYYYY to short for a game like this

Your stardust filter, build a room with a door around it within the base.. trust me lol when upgrade base to stone also and get defense like turrets will help major with the attacks

You can put wallpaper prints on outside and inside of walls.
the PvP is area based, your base will survive anywhere :) also you get more starcrom and lose almost nothing when you die in PvP areas.
Btw not sure if you know but you can insta repair all the damages by going to your Territory Terminal and repairing it there. It costs you the materials but its alot faster and easier than going by hand

No way, another Tomo in the wild! The algorithm brought me here how funny. Just figured out how to get this game to work on a handheld that uses a controller. Running through the tutorial atm. Man this game looks a bit involved hope I can spare the time to learn with Poe's new league out today. 😅

You can play for 2-3 hours and barely do anything and have a good time. I think that's what these players are truly missing out on crying about the phases and wipes.
Too get electric wires you need too unlock solar panels in the memetics menu and also the other power outlets too run the wires too what ever power source you want

How do you feel about the Devs wiping all your hard work every 6 weeks? Does that change the game for you?
That’s how survival games work? Eventually you hit endgame and there’s nothing to do until wipe, many games wipe biweekly or monthly so they give you plenty of time with the amount of content (there’s also a feature that allows you to take some equipment into the next season)
They will wipe your level and map progress, but you keep important stuff. So you will keep your BP's etc, some mats, and some others which u can transfer via eternaland. But I still hate that I have to lv to 50 again though.
You keep your earned blueprints but anything you've saved is saved so you can remake it again like base layouts, it basically is a prestige system so grind away to get the most essential things now to speed up the early game on wipe

When your putting down the foundation hold alt and use the scroll wheel( on PC) to change height... just figured that out, and after 3 days finally realized when using the furnace I can use a slider from left to right up to 99 items rather then one at a time.
@@mysonrando7789 Another thing many don't realize: When you get a specialization that boosts some item, like the deconstruct bench, you need to build it after you obtain it to get the benefit. Same with pickaxes, solar panels, biomass. You can tell you got enhanced items in building menu when there's that yellow up arrow thingie.
this game has 'almost' everything to be the perfect game for me, i have enjoyed playing the 15 hours or so i put into this before realizing that all those hours are wasted when the game has seasonal resets and then i have to start all over again, for that reason i stopped playing, but the gameplay itself i cannot fault. If you dont mind starting from zero every season, this game is for you
