You know what, you go on to youtube to find out how to do this kind of thing as in other DIY...but out of them all i.e electrical, plumbing, joinery this has got to be the best tutorial video of them all. the guy is a MASTER at what he does with is easy instructions and his patience 1st class and top-notch. WELL DONE.
I'm a painter and decorator and it's great to see you have thought about the following trade coming in. Real attention to detail and a great finish. You're a credit to your trade.
what a joy to watch a real tradesman doing a proper professional job, great stuff, loved it, cheers.
Best series on plastering I've seen in ages. Well explained and great job. Looking forward to seeing more of these.
A genuine craftsman at work. Would that everyone took this much care in their work. Cheers from the US.
Impressed. A lot of care and attention and a lot more passes than I would have thought. You clearly have to be prepared to put the time in to get the best results.
Just great to watch a master at work. I had a plasterer that used to go over the first coat with a wood float to flatten off before the second coat was applied. A good series of instruction videoes.
I like how he explain step by step, he can be a good tutor. Thank you!
Thanks for taking the time and going to the effort of making this video. really picked up some tips
bang on that bro. That's how it's done. thanks for your expertise. lamb salads all round.
Beautiful job, put the plastering work I just had done to shame. Well done.
Shiny wall, shiny head.
Used these videos for my first ever attempt at plastering a ceiling - followed them exactly step by step and produced a finish I am proud off! I've watched several videos before this, and this is the best by far! Thanks very much Guys - was a lot of fun watching the videos and doing the job.

This guy is the reason i personally employ British guys to do this sort of thing. PRIDE. Your a credit to the trade mate.
+Jimjim Skimmer Lovely comment fella, thanks for that
I have done a few DIY plastering jobs now, but it never gets a decent finish :( my problem is rushing thinking the plaster will be going off soon, if it took longer to set I think I would be able to do a much better job.
brilliant job. just in the middle of having my gaf plastered. was rewarding and helpful to watch your video. would be awesome to have experience to do it myself. The banter was funny to ha
Excellent set of videos and with straight talking , no bull advice . Cheers
Thank you no wonder I'm a lousy plasterer lol
Lots of things i forge to do which is why i employ the good guys when I have walls and ceilings to coat. Really good work .well done.
My only comment is how much time do you leave between coats or is it one action straight after the other?
Just watched all four videos. Good job well explained, loved the attention to detail. Well done fella!
Question : What sort of finish do i need in the plaster for the ceiling, or wall for that matter to be papered?

why is the plaster brown in europe? in the usa diamond plaster is white. does that brown plaster also have retarder in it or do you add that separately?
king persia it's all gypsum, but the rock can be different colours. We also get white over here at times
Bob thank you sir for answering the question I was just wondering if there's some kind of ingredient that makes one of the two better now I understand they're all the same stuff
king persia for Skim coat just add water no extra ingredients required. For external plaster, sand and cement you add a water proofer a plasticiser which helps the workability of the plaster.
,
king persia How popular and where in the USA is plastering most popular?
Easy shift for Sam :D Great videos guys
Excellent videos. Really enjoyed watching them. Thanks lads :)
best instructional vid i have seen on here thanks! i qualified as a plaster years ago but have mostly done K render and have been out of the business for years so i needed a refresher this vid is top notch and helped no end
+swichkite Glad we can help hope you get back into it :) have a great day
I quit about 5 years ago as I went to the US, now back in the UK. Good video with all you need to know and just how I worked.
Thanks mate. As an amateur teaching myself the dark art of plastering I learned a lot from that. Top banter too !
A real craftsman, well done.
Great videos top job 👍
Thanks for sharing your knowledge buddy. Was a pleasure watching you at work!
name of similar product on usa market?...or ingredients itemized?
Great job,learnt a lot,thanks.
how much time do you leave in between each trowelling up after the second coat?? great video
Jamie Treharne The time between each troweling up is weather dependent really and depends on the ventilation of the room. I.e if its a hot day it will be quicker then a cold day.Once the plaster is touch dry you should be able to leave a finger print on the wall and that should allow you to gauge it properly as there is no exact time. Hope this helps please comment for any more questions.
Top job mate thanks for all the advice....))))
To slow Tommy, and most of the plasterers use the angle trowell not a brush for corners.Anyway nice finish at the end.
+marcellonraco Thanks for the comment, Brad slowed everything down for the sake of the how to. His a little out of touch and doesnt do commercial site work anymore either. Thanks for watching
