The critics of Dr. Hugh Ross, who claim to be Christians are really not considerate of the faith at all. If truly you believe in God and you are filled with the Holy Spirit you can discern that Dr. Ross has really been prepared for such a time like this and to call him a liar or dishonest person is regrettably unfortunate. After listening to him and following up with the depth and exposure he gives to Scripture, Science and other fields, I really admit that his critics don't really match up with the level of knowledge and wisdom God has blessed him with. How many Christian scientists have really obtained these depth and insight this man got? In spite of the abundance of revelation he has in the Scriptures and Science , his true and lasting character that attracts me most is his humility and gentle demeanor to intelligently answer his critics and opponents. That alone wins my heart. He's not puffed up but humble enough to give remarkable answers that even astounds his opponents. May God extend his impact in Christianity.
You are a complete tool... Ross doesn't believe in evolution yet every phd biologist would laugh at his hypothesis . Ross is not a biologist he has much to learn about science. Notice none of his talks are in an academic space they're all given at churches to extreme laymen.

Amen. Super humble. Not argumentative. I watched a small portion of another creationist preacher who was so beyond arrogant. I was led to watch & believe as you also believe about Dr. Ross. The Holy Spirit provides discernment.

I’ve just recently found Dr. Ross and Reason to Believe but I am rapidly becoming addicted to this channel ! I love the depth of knowledge , although most of it is over my head , assuming that it is true and correct , is absolutely amazing and I love seeing the explanations in extreme depth . I will try to verify what Dr. Ross talks about , I’m not the type to blindly follow anything ever , I must feel that it’s right . I hope so because I love listening to and learning from these videos . It’s only been a month or so since I found Dr. Ross and I’m already having to hunt new videos . I did buy the book “Always be Ready” but I haven’t read it yet , I’m sure I’ll get more ! I’m thinking about a few new ones now . Thank you to all involved , these are great . I’m a saved Christian and I’m looking forward to what comes next (66 y o ) , the bible teaches that it is so fantastic that we can’t even comprehend how wonderful ! I can’t imagine .

Agreed! I've seen too many debates and discussions where Ken Ham becomes unhinged, almost coming out of his chair to verbally accost Hugh while Hugh remains calm, respectful and loving. I have a lot of respect for this man even if I don't agree with everything he may state

@@patticarey9016 It might go well for you to remember that truth is not dictated by the flawed or sinful presenter. Truth will stand on its own with or without a flawed mouthpiece. The real question we should pursue is "What does the Bible actually say?" When it comes to death and decay, and pain and suffering, and Adam and Eve walking over the bones of dead animals with nephesh - breath of life - in them, Hugh is just plane out wrong, Biblically, on this subject.

@@LanceLovettThe only thing I can think of is that when you learn a subject at an early age, it sticks with you better than something learned later in life. Ross actually began his career at the age of seven and never stopped! Thus, he had a rock solid foundation in physics and astronomy from which to build upon. He has spent his life learning and as he's learned, he's found a place for the various areas of knowledge and done a fine job of keeping it all, functional, organized and practical in his mind, in his books, and in RTB. I'm blown away with his ability to have such broad understanding across multiple areas of knowledge, including the non-scientific disciplines of scripture, history, and language, and to make the interdisciplinary connections and reconciliations that integrate and reinforce the Biblical creation view.

How does Hugh know SO much in so many different disciplines! He has quite an amazing mind that God has gifted him with.
My sentiments exactly! He started his career at the age of seven! There's that, but also I think he used his Bible a great deal to understand and direct his scientific learning. He encourages his scientist colleagues to use the Bible to predict things. I believe God has raised him up to be an apostle to this scientific/technological generation.
He is an intellectual savant for the Kingdom of God. I'm nerding out on his talks. 😂
He as a team of 130RTB scholars around the world to help him, he reads a lot also.
He is quite flawed on a very key Biblical teaching when it comes to sin. In fact the flaw is so blatant it puts his partial Biblical world view in jeopardy. His modern scientific training keeps him blind to that.

The ancient Romans often claimed they ruled the whole world but we know they only ruled the region around the Mediterranean Sea. From their ancient perspective it seemed to them they conquered virtually the entire world as they knew it.

That is why noahs flood is written as flooding the entire world they had no idea how large the world was and how many species there were. It was plagiarized from the sumerian texts anyways though.

In a simple explanation, in God's perspective there is predestination in the sense that He is the Eternal God who knows the eternal past, the present, and the eternal future. In the perspective of man, humans are still making at the present their destiny according to their desire and will. Praise and Glory to God alone.

I am unlucky coz I just came to view Dr. Ross’ video just now. His mind hosts a treasure trove of biblical and scientific knowledge which God graciously gifted and he’s sharing it to all who will listen! Critics are actually scoffers coz what they can’t correctly grasp coz they refuse to they criticize!

I read these comments here and i am wondering...what is more important. Understanding creation and all its complexities or understanding the Gospel? The Gospel in my opinion should always be center stage, even when discussing creation. Regardless of how old the earth is, man is sinful and in need of a Saviour. Now listen to the opinions of others on this matter and differ in love. The greatest commandment? We should love God and love our neighbour. Amen.
Yes, think of the simple gospel (good message) of God's kingdom rule returning to the earth just as Jesus told his disciples to pray for at Matt6: 10 "Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven." The warning signs of that occurring are recorded at Matt24, Mark13,and Luke21... "Tell us, when shall these things be , and what shall be the sign of thy coming..."

Now when you say Adam did not die physically until later, you must mean when his spirit went back to God. For the moment he diet spiritually, he did begin to die physically, and all creation in like manner. They were at that moment subject to futility, "not of themselves, but by Him who subjected them..."

You need to read the whole Bible on the topic. Exodus 20: 8-11 is about the Jews and day 7. Hebrews 4:9-10 tell us about creation and day 7. In Gen 1 here no "evening and morning" for the 7th day.
Day is not the same as 24 hours, not in the past and not today.
The earth is not 6,000 years old and the Bible does not teach this. Hebrews 4:9-10: "There remains, then, a Sabbath-rest for the people of God; for anyone who enters God’s rest also rests from their works, just as God did from his." This tells us that the 7th day has not ended. Thus day 7 is a long time span, thus day 1 to 6 must be a long time span. Each believer are to enter into day 7. Also there no "evening and morning" for the 7th day. As day 7 as not ended. Biblical Hebrew has a limited vocabulary, with fewer words compared to other languages, such as English or Spanish. This means words often have multiple meanings determined by context. Day - yom is commonly rendered as day in English translations, but the word yom can be used in different ways to refer to different time spans thus literally is:
Sunrise to sunset
Sunset to next sunset
Time period of unspecified length. (long time span ).
We use the word day the same today: In my grandfather’s day cars did not go very fast.
Deuteronomy 33:15 and Habakkuk 3:6 "ancient mountains".

The events of day 6 can n ot have happened in 24 hours.

The Mesopotamia valley is a low and flat, it took time for the water go to the sea and to dry out. The animals were so he could recover quickly after the flood and it was not 2 of each, some that he needed were more, seven pairs. Bird, the Dove is an universal symbol of peace and harmony. He uses the dove as Homing pigeon, Dove/pigeon (same) has been domesticated for a long time. Other birds we do not know maybe falconry? Birds and people have a long history.

All this speaks to me of the wonderful love of God. So I have a simple, perhaps stupid question - what about all the aborted babies; the trafficked, abused children; the horrifying ill treatment of sentient animals, what is their ultimate fate? Are they collateral damage? Tough luck? Or, is there a place for them in the second creation? I find many animals to be remarkably intelligent and even compassionate and caring, for instance dolphins that I worked with some half century ago. Are they disposable objects or does the verse: 'not a sparrow falls but...' indicate something more for them?
I'm sure there is because God is just and merciful.
Adam's fall created the "fear" of death. All die, but sparrows and fish don't labor over it. A day comes when they die, but they don't give a moment's thought to it during their whole life. Which of Adam's human descendants can say the same?
Romans 5:12 “Through one man sin entered into the world, and through sin death, and so death passed to all mankind in turn.” This is clear death came to “all mankind”, not animals. Why would God kill animals due to man’s sin?

Biblical Hebrew a small vocabulary than English. In biblical Hebrew, there is no word for universe. Instead, the Hebrew phrase that is translated “the heavens and the earth” is used to refer to the universe-the entirety of physical reality. The phrase is used thirteen times in the Old Testament, always referring to all matter, energy, space, and time the universe. We now know that event was 13.787 ±0.020 billion years. This has been checked, proven and measured with many tools and they all agree. It is not just space that came to be 13.787 billion years ago, but time also. The universe is finite and expanding.
Just as the Bible stated thousands of years ago. To deny the existence of a Creator is an error.

@@harrycrocker4470 I know my faith, that's why I know that the Holy Spirit, who is God, is the same Spirit moving amongst the waters in Genesis. God is, God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit who was moving amongst the waters in Genesis.
Hugh Ross is a fantastic science communicator but he plays exceedingly fast and loose with the bible at times. The claim that Noah's generation would have gone extinct without the flood is highly speculative and in my view improbable. People spread out under many kinds of pressures. There is evidence of Aborigines in Australia as far back as 40,000 years ago.

You are presuming that the Tower of Babel event where God scatters humans was more recent than the 40 thousand years, before the scattering of the people, humans did all live together in one place.

What is interesting is that the critics speak as tho Dr. Ross has to be perfect in order to be a useful tool in the Master's hand. No one is perfect. No one knows everything or everything perfectly. No one interprets scripture perfectly either, which is why there are SO many bible translations that have come out thru the yrs! Because there are always translators that think they can do better. ~ God is using Dr. Ross in amazing ways... as Dr. Ross loves God. LEAVE him alone! ~ Pray for him if anything!

Why build a boat to put all the animals on them if they can just simply move to higher ground? Why would Moses write down for the record that "the waters prevailed so mightily on the earth that all the high mountains under the whole heaven were covered. The waters prevailed above the mountains, covering them fifteen cubits deep. And all flesh died that moved on the earth, birds, livestock, beasts, all swarming creatures that swarm on the earth, and all mankind. Everything on the dry land in whose nostrils was the breath of life died. Only Noah was left, and those who were with him in the ark." (Gen 7:17-23) Is Dr Ross reading the same Bible I read? If so, is he re-interpreting it in the light of his evolutionary education? He may believe in the Bible but he is most definitely allowing his science to re-interpret it in the light of his scientific understanding. So the Catholics have the Bible and tradition and for them, tradition often takes precedence over the Bible, like praying to Mary. Dr Ross has the Bible and science and his science takes precedence over the Bible when it contradicts with his science. And why, Catalyst Church, would you invite this guy into your congregation to bring confusion? Here's another question. Why didn't God just tell Noah to move to higher ground? He had 120 years to make it to higher ground with his family. This man is doing some serious exegetical gymnastics to come to his conclusions and sowing a lot of confusion.

But on this issue, he is sorely mistaken and his secular evolutionary education is forming his view of scripture on this issue just like I use to allow in my own thinking.

His world, pre Adam and Eve includes floods, hurricanes, tornados, and every other kind of natural disaster that brought destructive effects upon the earth and animals. I would actually respond to this in the style of Alan Watts, "God is a character with a great sense of humour, and to make the game more interesting, he's put some obstacles in the way of his own creation. God made the earth perfect which means no living creature (nephesh - that which has the breath of life in it) died (Genesis 1-2). Plants are not "alive" in the Biblical sense, that it has the "breath of life." Mankind sinned (did what God told them not to do) and then God cursed the earth and mankind was set on a path of death. That's when the 2nd Law of Thermo Dynamics became active. If it became active before that, the Bible has lied to us. Glad you are here for me ;).

Nice presentation. However, can't believe dinosaur bones & tissue can be preserved for millions of years in ground. Animals, trees, & vegetation grew to humongous size in before Adam because there was a super abundance of clean pure oxygen, a natural green house. Here is the answer for the difficult questions - The Bible talks about “clouds” going up and down with people going in and out (Exodus 24:18 - Moses entered the cloud).
