    Having watched a lot of 'underwaters' by many brands, match and carp. The same 'rules' that came out of earlier Korda films still hold true.
    A relatively 'stiff' rig that resets itself and that lies out straight, away from the lead or feeder, and gives the fish no slack to use to eject the rig whilst letting the weight of the feeder or lead drive the hook point home is the key to catching more.
    Now I always fish 'stiff' or semi-stiff rigs when Carping but 'softer' more traditional rigs when feeder fishing.
    Having watched 'Underwater 2' I think our feeder rigs could be alot 'stiffer' and work well. I think Danny was aluding to improving rig dynamics toward a more 'Carpy' style.
    So I'm thinking a longer stiffer boom and a shorter hook link.
    Maybe even 15-20Ib fluorocarbon for the boom and a slightly lighter fluorocarbon for the hook length?
    I would even consider covering the connection between the boom and hook length with a stiffer sleeve (anti-tangle) to push the hook length out straight.

      Funnily enough red worms have never been a great bait at ferry and loads try them. My attitude is I'm feeding dendras so the fish are eating them. So why not put the same on the hook.

    Agree , why such a long hooklength ?
    Because he always fishes that way ?
    Why show us that a short hooklength gives better and quicker indication, then don't follow that knowledge !

      Because with a flurocarbon boom I can achieve amazing bait separation. We showed this in part 1 of underwater at ferry.

    Just a quick question why fish such a long hooklength when you know it lands an inch or so away from the feeder?

    • @tm-xz2ng
      @tm-xz2ng 5 месяцев назад +2

      Mad long that hook link don't get why the underwater show short hook was best or is the length a rule ?

    • @StevenRinger-gw7cs
      @StevenRinger-gw7cs 5 месяцев назад +2

      But with a flurocarbon boom as shown in underwater it showed that bait separation can still be achieved with a longer hooklength.

      But twitching the feeder towards you worked but then again we saw 5lb bream on for ages with no sign on the tip so no one knows anything that's going on but that's why it's called fishing lol we can only assume steve well fished though in underwater video the bream were all huge lol you found some of the smaller ones!!

    • @StevenRinger-gw7cs

      @peterroome5018 different time of year so a lot of skimmers in from the river as its river fed. Also a lot more colour in the water.

      Personally I put the tip as low to the water as possible to help keep the line low, might be nonsense but in my head it helps from spooking fish with line, keeps it in the deck better.

      Because in a match the bream get pushed out due to pressure. I've fished ferry all my life and in matches it's extremely rare to catch bream inside 40m.
