Tim Hardaway (38pts/7asts/5stls/6threes) vs. Knicks (Game 7, 1997)

- Tim Hardaway leads the Miami Heat to the conference finals with a performance for the ages. I reckon that nobody in today's NBA has the balls to attempt the sequence that starts at 4:30. '07 Kobe could be the last guy who could take and make those shots. Some of the threes he made for that 18-point third quarter are just unbelievable. That's how you make sure in game seven that your team is winning the series. May 18, 1997.

I'm sitting here cheering like this is live lol. Damn Tim Hardaway was a beast.
You ain't alone brother...lol
it's sad people don't know how good Tim was, he would kill in LA Summer league avg 55 points, he will be in hall of fame, also Kevin Johnson too
Tim is the crossover master the new dudes carry the hell out of the ball. Peeps forget Rod Strickland as well.
Kevin Johnson has retired for 17 years. I wonder why he isn't in the hall of fame
Tim Hardaway won't be in the hall for his homophobic comments
@@wuliwei6939 He and Mark Price should be in
@@wuliwei6939 He may never get in due to his legal issues.
The kids will never know how special Timmy Hardaway was. Man had the meanest crossover.
Yes sir he was a demon on that court
Back to back, step-back 3 pts. That is basketball @ it's finest. Absolutely amazing.
tim was a true beast the scary thing was tim was past his prime don't get me wrong he was still one of the best pg's and a top 15-20 player in the league but he clearly was as good after his acl tear. pre injury tim hardaway was all-time great he was 22-10 a night
Bro those jerseys are fire🔥🔥🔥
I've watch this video 6 times this week. Gives me chills, my favorite PG of all time.
Not everyone will agree with this, understandably, but I personally would really like to see this HEAT team as a throwback in 2k.
I'm saying
I agree fortunately I have TMC and Zoe so I came here to check them out again
96-97 heat are going to be in 2k18 bro!
They got the all tine heat players on nba 2k18
John Fee my alltime favorite team
This dude being able to stop and go in another direction at blazing speed was unreal. Unfortunately that led to a lot of injuries also. One of the most athletic point guards to play. That speed was necessary in that era of basketball for guys like him and AI to compete at a small size.
When Heat fans were real.
7 years later look how dumb hating a basketball team was.
Absolutely only real fans... Unfortunately the Big 3 era brought a lot of bandwagon fans...
This is why I like the way they played back in the day because the games were slower pace and guys like this would take over a game and still get players involved at the same time. And on a side note I have a you tube channel type in Russell Mills May 22, 2017 to find me.
steph curry is the only player that has a remote chance of pulling this off. what makes what tim did even more amazing is that he id this aganist one of the best defense in the league and pretty much every shot he took was contested. Amazing
Tim Hardaway in today's world with todays medicine
my god!
God that Heat team had some 3-pointer skills! Hardaway, Lenard, Majerle, Mashburn...And Mourning at the center!
That Heat team was way more a TEAM that the current one build around those three superstars. Needless to say Tim Hardaway is probably my all time favourite PG and all time favourite player right AFTER Air Jordan.
I remember watching tim play I even went to his jersey retirement in 2009
He is my fav point guard of all time....best transition 3 point shot ever and quickest crossover
Heck yeah
Tim is so awesome he is one of the point gods!
Caught a brief glimpse of Buck Williams. Such a valuable member of the Knicks frontcourt, even in his 16th season. And yet, he has got to be one of the greatest power forwards of all time (if not THE greatest) to never make it to Springfield.
This is classic Tim Hardaway, this guy was so tough.
LamarMatic, i kinda disagree with your comment: "I reckon that nobody in today's NBA has the balls to attempt the sequence that starts at 4:30. '07 Kobe could be the last guy who could take and make those shots. Some of the threes he made for that 18-point third quarter are just unbelievable."
Its just that i never saw Kobe doing something like that in the playoffs, on a game 7, againts the type of tough and rough defense this Knicks team played, let alone with the bad blood between this 2 squads. Againts non defensive teams, or in the regular season?, well yes, i have seen Kobe do it in those situations. But what Timmy did here with the stakes so high...thats just insane.
Keep the awesome uploads coming Lamar, thanks!
4:59 one of his signature moves he use on the 3 point shot as well as the 2 point jump shots. Tim Bug was so underrated!!
3:49 lol @ the 2 fans behind Alonzo Mourning!! 😃😃
Man Tim Hardaway was the real deal! 🔥
My all-time favorite player; modelled my game after his!
An underrated player and the only Miami Heat team that I like.
One of the best crossover everrrrrr.... and that was his best game, only compared to his game against the lakers 1991's playoff (Run T-M-C)... Timmy was in Venezuela (I think) in 2004 giving a clinic with someone else. I hope to see him here again.
Tim was on FIRE this game
One of my all time favourites...Probably my favourite point guard from the 90s! NBA 2K16 brought me here today! I finally managed to get '91 Tim Hardaway into myteam today with only 12k! Now my back court is perfect!
he hits big shots , him and van exel ....
The heat with Hardaway and Mourning were something special
I watched this game live and then went outside and played basketball.
Everybody forgets how good hardaway and mourning were
Classic Heat film I love it
Crossover!!!! I studied this man for hours back in the day.
I enjoyed watching this game.
Irving's game looks so similar in many aspects. Crafty and solid all around at position
Great vid, I absolutely love your stuff. I agree, Steph is such a pure shooter & he got the talent to pull off Hardaway did. Btw have you made a vid of Baron Davis (golden state) vs the #1 seeded Mavericks (I believe it was 2007)? That was one of the most electrifying performances I've ever seen. He could not miss, not even a fade a way three going out of bounds...
Tim Hardaway dribble style shoot , one of the coelst guys
Hardaway was a beast #underrated
Damn if only Tim knees could have held up
Threeeeeeeeee! Damn heat PA announcer was always awesome.
I miss the NBC theme music @ 5:13 someone needs to bring that back
Yea, when Timmy was on, had that bop in his step and his elbows clicking, he was a problem for real...
Zo had 3pt range?! 🤤
Uniquely Unqualified He used to hit one from time to time.
@Shawn Kemp Shawn Kemp also could shoot threes
At 3:52. assistant coach is looking at Alonzo Morning like....WTF....! LOL
i dont think ive ever heard a miami crowd that loud
Making nba history ! Let’s go HEAT! 🇺🇸 ❤️ 🇨🇺 🦩 🏀 🔥 🏆 305
Peak of the Heat teams of the 90’s. Easily Timmy’s best game as a Heat player. The fans were super hyped to kick the Knicks out of the playoffs. Great childhood memories.
He was a better point guard than Nash.
Every basket sounds so explosive lol they got a loud ass mic by the rim?
Straight squad
Tim hardaway the boss
hell yeah!!!
This'a way that'a way everyway HARDAWAY
As a Bulls fan that was an amazing performance by Hardaway but we taught them a lesson in the Conference Finals and the Bulls defense shut down Mourning, Hardaway, and Mashburn.
Wow beating a team after a week's rest, while they just finished a brutal 7 game series against one of the most physical teams in the league. Trust me every non-Bulls NBA fan remembers what Jordan was able to get away with after they changed the rules for him.
Teddy Graham Slam oh hush you! it's Jordan for god sake so who cares! MJ the great!
Teddy Graham Slam It doesn't matter man, no one could beat the Bulls in the 90's. Not even the Knicks could beat MJ and the Bulls
The reason why the Heat was in the ECF was because they cheated. Riley initiated the fight against the Knicks to get their key players suspended
Karma was a bitch too because after this series they kept choking to this same exact knicks team for three straight years in the post season. Honestly a disappointing era for this heat team.
What some ppl are overlooking about this series is, this is series where they had the brawl after PJ Brown flipped Charlie Ward. Several Knicks players were suspended for the last couple games which probably gave Miami an advantage. Not to take away from Hardaway's performance, but I think those suspensions put them in a good position to advance in this series..
the knicks probably played better in game 6 of this series but why exactly
The Knicks blew it!! 3 straight losses
@@ariboy24081. Plus You’re not Gonna Win with 20 Turnovers🤦🏿🤦🏿🤦🏿🤦🏿
Tim used Childs like a wet tissue. Damn
Think it was Charlie Ward too, I could be wrong lol
The Knicks chose to sign Chris Childs over Tim Hardaway!!!! LMAO!!!!
They signed his son😂
He da 1 established Heat culture along w Zo!! Cuz even though it's MIA nobody wanted ta come there as a star no matter da beaches
Hardaway terrorized the Knicks in this game although they were the better team that year and would have eliminated Miami in 6 had it not been for the suspensions. This was really Hardaway's last year as an elite PG before injuries started to take their toll and he was never fully healthy in their next 3 playoff meetings in 1998-2000. Having sat through this game, I loved seeing Hardaway as a shell of his former self in those years.
demoncleaner45 97 heat was the better team better record and won the series fight my ass they all except houston was washed up
in the playoffs he played well in 98 but not in 99
in the 97 playoffs patrick ewing played well in 7 of the 9 games he played in
"Thanks NBA for suspending Ewing and LJ for Game 6 so I can have a big Game 7"
-Tim Hardaway
LChris6 they was their in game 7 Chicago beat heat at their home
-Salty New Yorker
If Ewing and Houston played in Game 6, instead of LJ and Starks, they would still pull it off
why was game 6 closer despite the game 7 performance by patrick ewing
the knicks probably played better in game 6 but why despite the game 7 performance from patrick ewing
I’m here from 2k mobile this dude here is Raw
Anyone know who the little boy is at 5:07. I don't think the age lines up for Tim Hardaway jr, but it got me wondering who it is. Zo's affection seems to indicate he's more than just a ball boy. A lot of times the ball boys for teams are NBA player's or coach's sons.
NOPE........probably just family friends. Or Make-A-Wish kids
Of all you mentioned, only Lebrons were in the playoffs, LamarMatic made that comment taking into account the magnitude of the moment when the shots happened.
I hope I'm not the only who doesn't miss where the entire crowd doesn't look like a sea of the same color
Nope
This was a lebron game for Tim
Wow todays may 18 also
At 3:52. assistant coach is looking at Alonzo Morning like....WTF....! LOL
Love some Zo and Timmy highlights.
4:06-4:36-5:00: Pulled a Steph Before Steph👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿
3:53 Well, I guess that's one way to celebrate...
This Heat team!!!!! They were good enough to get to the Finals but the east was to dam strong, Bulls era!!!
At 3:52. assistant coach is looking at Alonzo Morning like....WTF.... you're gona lose to BULLS anyway! LOL
I could see how Hardaway is one of Kyrie's favorite players
Voshon Leonard 😮
He wasn’t in NBA Live 98 cover for no reason
love me some Timmy, but that that a brutal frontline of Ewing, Oakley and Buck Williams... Throw in Zo and there isn't a free weight in sight that would be safe!
2012 playoffs?
the original heat team tim zo mash, and thunder dan ya lenord
Put that man in tha HOF
The Miami heat security guard that looks like Stone Cold Steve Austin was there back then.. WOW 7:29
Haha I thought it was assistance coach At 3:52. he's looking at Alonzo Morning like....WTF....! LOL
In Chris Smooves voice... Alanzo Mourning for three?! Is this a fake video!?
and how many rings have the knicks won since?....
ZZZZEEEERRRRROOOOOOOO
Sadly these Zo/Haradaway lead Heat teams wouldn't beat the Knicks again. : / those teams could've done something had it not been for injuries.
hardaway struggled in the 99 series
he was injured + missed all 3 games vs the pistons in round 1 of 00
what injuries are u referring to
b4 the kidney disease alonzo mourning played 52 out of 53 playoff games
game 5 in 98 was the only 1 he missed being suspended
Just add Wade to that roster
Knuckle ball 3
Tim shoulda got an n 1 errtime da way he b yellin
Am huge fan of Tim but those suspensions man. Knicks led 3-1. Heat won it still. Wonder where were Tim against an older Knicks like in 99 and 2000 when they had the obligation to win and clearly had better shot against Spurs in 99.
Mr. Entringer a lucky shot by houston 00 was a shot away as well
Also Jamal Mashburn never wanted to be the 3rd option he wanted to be the "guy" but he had no chance with Zo and Tim on the team.
he was better with the mavs but kidd never led them 2 the playoffs
pat riley was probably hard to play for and/or probably caused certain struggles for certain players
tim hardaway was probably better with the warriors
indian river high + the hornets probably had the better version + or versions of alonzo mourning
Hardaway stays healthy no way Knicks beat them 3 years straight. Bad luck
he played well in the 98 series but not in round 1 of 99
Damn, watching this im now realizing Lowry is Hardaway reincarnated
Hell fucking no😹😹😹😹
Lowry is a fatass BUM. Never compared that fat Albert Nigga to the killer crossover
wasn't this riley's first heat year?
2nd year + he's probably hard 2 play for that's probably why indian river high + the hornets had the better version of mourning
Led*
theres no plumbers here...i think its in 50s and 60s
in the 50's + 60's role players like john starks wouldn't make the nba having 9-12 teams
the goats are were + will be wilt chamberlain + bill russell
Better than nick van exel.
Knicks were screwed over...... Well whatever... Its the past
Steven Cano so was the heats 98
And now his son, Tim Hardaway JR just got drafted by the Knicks!
Looking again. I know for sure its not Tim jr, it looks nothing like him, and he would have to be 5 years old. That kid looks at least 10 or so.
I think he meant take over a game like that IN PLAYOFFS,particularly in a decisive playoffs game...an elimination game...not to many guys can do it..it's true.
Now the comparisons with today's nba are unfair because, first of all you are never gonna see today a playoffs series as physical and defensive as this one was(miami-NYC 1997), it was tough and very intense...
Air Magic he would have 60 in today's game easily
only durant proved that he could do it at this level of competition...not harden. Harden can do it in the regular season but in a game 7 in playoffs? taking over like that? I don't think so...he disappeared in the nba finals...
John Stockton my ass. Tim Hardway is way better than John Stockton. John Stockton never took over a game like this
heat bandwagon now.
The shooters were way better then . If you watch all these so called 3pt shooters now in days a lot of horrible shots air balls straight front of the rim short bricks. Timmy was shooting bullseyes.
Chris Childs is a flat out scrub and Tim Hardaway destroyed his confidence along with all the 3's he buried each one for Childs because he talked so much trash throughout the whole series and in the GM 7 he destroyed him along with the Knicks backcourt.
The Knicks were fucking short handed because of the bullshit suspensions. They would have knocked your Bulls out of the playoffs that year
Lol, that is a good one. I'm sure Starks, LJ and Oak would have completely dominated Jordan, Pippen and Rodman [/s x1 million].
Go fuck yourself
