I absolutely LOL when dude dropped the bolt and washer. Not at him as much that I immediately identified with the situation. LMFAO!
Happens to the best of us haha. We have all been there.
Installing an air-intake without having to put a tune on the vehicle. Now that's a novel concept! I think it really brings the engine bay to life in both looks and sound. Nice one!
To actually get any gains out of it, you do need to adjust tuning.
If you want more gains. Itll make it more efficient with a tune. But still adds power, just not as much@matttackel997
I installed mine a year or so ago and love it. Very loud.
Damn the turbos sound sick
That moment when he dropped the nut, he was like FUCK. (a job that takes 20 mins, can now take an hour if needed to take off undertray to retrieve it) haha yes indeed we all been there.
Awesome video!!! I just sold my 2019 fbo sti and bought a 24 ecoboost! You were always tasteful with your subaru mods. Can't wait to dive into your f150 videos.
Looks great/sounds great but a less expensive K&N filter in the enclosed stock intake probably does more for performance.
Really? How so? Please explain. I’m down for trying that.
I said fuck out loud right when you did, we've all been there haha
lol same
Omg a clear understanding video 😃 thank you so much!!!!
Glad to have helped!
Truck sounds great by the way and I'll most likely be getting this same intake!
Getting ready to install mine. This really helps out.
Is driving in the rain okay for a air intake like this
@@AddictionForAdrenaline yep
Used your video to install mine today, thank you so much. I did drop the sensor grommet somewhere and can’t find it now, lol so hopefully when I get a replacement all will be good.
Glad to have helped!
Truck?
Are you still happy with it? Do you have to purchase new filters or can you clean them? I learn a lot from your videos. Thanks for the content 🇺🇸
Yes still rocking this intake and enjoying it. They are dry filters so just need to vacuum and bang out to clean. Very easy!
Sounds awesome
in your research did you consider any of the enclosed filter systems? I've been deliberating on intakes for a LONG time and I also go between this unit, the AFe unit, the S&B or Banks power... I hear from a lot of mechanics that ecoboosts prefer the enclosed systems, especially in hot climates. Have you experienced any drivability issues?
I looked at a few others but liked this one the best. Haven’t had a single issue at all.
Hey man, don’t worry about inclosed systems. It really doesn’t matter that much since it’s turbo charged. The air is cooled in the inter cooler anyways so it’s not that big of a deal you maybe only losing like 1 or 2 hp from it being open like this system. The main advantage performance wise is the fact that it’s able take in more air with less resistance which allows the turbos to spool faster. And of course, the SOUND !!!!🥵
@@joshualeboeuf2044 I ended up going with this one. It sounds insane with a VTA mod.
@@joshualeboeuf2044 that helped me spend more money on this one Intake. Hahaha thanks
Quick question with the engine air box, it does not stick up as high as it looks? Looks like it would be in the way when closing the hood.
Nope same location and height as stock and closes no issues.
Whats up man! So did there end up being any noticeable difference in mpg or anything like that? I want to buy this intake pretty much just for the sound but don’t want to lose any mpg or performance. It seems like whenever you ask on forums about these intakes people just shit all over them and I wanted to ask you since you actually are running the one that I want! Thanks man.
No gain in mpg since installing the intake. Still running it and still sounds great.
@@Scoobyfreak86 awesome
Curious as to why you installed an intake and left the intake restrictors in? If you’re enjoying the sound like that, see how much louder it is when they come out.
The intake is very audible with these. No need to make it louder.
Add a 5star tune. I have it on mine…you won’t regret it
Can you drive in the rain with the intake?
Sounds so dope
The real question is…when’s the first piece of Titanium Works going into the truck??? 🤣
Hahah not sure if I’m ready to go down that route with this one.
Checking the oil must be fun?
Why? Doesn’t interfere whatsoever with doing oil change.
2.7 or 3.5 engine? Mine is coming in today and I'll be installing tonight. I wonder if the air pressure regulator tube in the kit will be in a different spot if we have different engines.
3.5 ecoboost
Love the headlights what model is your truck
Thanks! XLT trim
Hey man I know this videos old but check engine light keeps coming on don’t know if there’s a vent insert for the crank case?
Read the code and see what’s coming up. Impossible to diagnosis without knowing the code(s).
When I'm excelerating it sounds like a huge air leak. I have the same intake. I have no check engine lights or performance issues that I've noticed. Do you have any idea what's going on
That’s the induction noise from the intake.
Actually intakes are amazing for turbo Intakes, unlike for n/a motors
Eh my Wrx has a intake and my tuner told me it really doesn’t add too much hp mainly for sound only
f150 turbos run about twice the PSI boost stock vs the wrx @@georgeparker555
Great video!!! So is the honeymoon phase over? Thoughts after 5 months?
No sir! Still loving it.
@@Scoobyfreak86 thanks! I just installed it on mine! I don’t have as much turbo whistle. I have a 4” MBRP exhaust. Thoughts?
Was looking at that exhaust as well. Definitely will give the truck much more turbo whistle.
@@Scoobyfreak86 have you had any issues with the clamp coming off the otter tube? I did and my truck throw a P04DB code. I have to figure out how to clear the code to see if that resolves the issue or if I have to buy a new valve & sensor.
No issues with the clamps. My guess is the maf sensor was damaged or not installed properly.
Looks to me you are sucking a lot of hot air in the new box from the engine compartment...Nothing is closed... What did you accomplish?
The hood seals the box when it is closed
Debating on the black or silver pipes. I would think black shows scratches easier?
The black is a wrinkle black so it doesn’t show any scratches. Much more durable than the polished in my opinion.
COOL, WILL IT WORK FOR MY 2020 F150 XLT 3.5 V6 GAS?
Yeah bought the same intake for my 2021 F150 XLT comes in today so hopefully the install is smooth🤞
Intro song?
will this fit a 2.7? not sure if the mounting areas and charge pipes are the same
Yes fits both 2.7 and 3.5
How well does it do at keeping any road salt/ messy snow from wheel splash
It stays nice and clean. It seals up nicely when the hood is closed.
Not that it probably matters but what was the weight savings between the two intakes?
Maybe 2-3lbs. Not much.
Gotcha, thanks for the reply
you didnt add a blow of valve? you got this sound from just adding the intake?
Correct
@@Scoobyfreak86 wow, im ordering one rn. did you ever get a check engine light?
No sir. No issues at all.
@@Scoobyfreak86 thats awesome. thanks man
Ya the turbo sound I will be ordering to today as it’s 0130 lol.
Don’t know what I did wrong. Installed mine yesterday and after a few hours it threw on a CEL
What code(s) are being thrown?
@@Scoobyfreak86it’s throwing P04DB, for the crankcase. For some reason my kit never came with that little tube. Just got the tube in today though so fingered crossed it fixes the problem
Will driving in very heavy rain be ok?
absolutely
@@Scoobyfreak86 I believe you. You’re not going to believe this…..
This is directly from Injen web-sight: IS IT SAFE TO DRIVE MY CAR IN RAIN WITH A COLD AIR INTAKE SYSTEM?
Injen Technology Ram / Cold Air Intake Systems should be removed in wet climate conditions.
Failure to do so may cause water to be absorbed into the engine through the Intake System causing serious engine failure. Injen Technology assumes no liability for damages to your engine due to water entering your vehicle's system.
Now I have a 2020 f150 eco boost with this cold air intake and a vent to atmosphere, and a tune. No issues. I read that and got so concerned
@@Scoobyfreak86sounds good thank you, on Injen website it states:

It made me nervous
Do you have a blowoff valve installed?
I do not
Looks good
Do you know if this voids warranty?
You can’t “void” warranty necessarily. But if you have an issue with the truck and it links back to the modification you’ve done, they have the right to deny warranty work. If you are worried about warranty, leave it stock.
does it matter if i have 2 turbos?
Both the 2.7s and 3.5s have twin turbos lol
did this make the turbo whistle a little more noticeable?
Yes you hear more spoiling with it
Like you truck but crome grill have to charge 👍
All the chrome will be gone soon. Don’t worry haha.
Does this help MPG?
I haven’t noticed any change in mpg with it
I haven’t noticed any change in mpg with it
Where can I buy this cold air intake ?
There is a link in the description for it.
@@Scoobyfreak86 don’t work
amzn.to/3IEf4N1
@@Scoobyfreak86 thanks brotha 🤙🏽👍🏾
It won’t fit my 2013 fx4 dam it bummer
Will this fit a 2018
Yes
Anyone knows if this fits in a 23 powerboost ?
this fits all 15-23 turbo'd motors.
@@Scoobyfreak86 thanks bud, appreciate it
Did you get a change in mpg
Didn’t notice a change
I dropped the same bolt, twice, lol
Happens to the best of us haha
Noise over power.
Will this fit on my poor man’s f150?
They have options for many different years and models.
So the sensor that was on top. Did you pull it all the way around to plug that into the turbo intake? The temperature sensor?
Yes it went underneath the piping and plugged in
@@Scoobyfreak86 but mine is a 2019 XLT.
@@Scoobyfreak86 ok, I plug it into the other intake, and my check engine like came on ha
@@Scoobyfreak86 and thanks 🙏
Will this fit a 2021?
Yes!
@@Scoobyfreak86 nice. thanks for the video.
