- Here my latest 1955 QD-16 on the boat. Looks like I need to revisit the timing is was running smoother last time out. One set of points must be out of adjustment. Didn't get the hold down screw tight
Couldn't understand a word you were saying, but love the motor as much as you. Beautiful '55 10hp on a beautiful lake. Thanks for posting this video.
Incredible little motor! I have never heard one that sounds so good. Thanks for the video!
I rechecked the timing after this video and its smoother now.
Great!
Beautiful, love the 55 Johnson colors and graphics
Ya I like the colors Thanks
Wow, getting a comment from Kramden - THE mythical outboard guru - is a feat by itself and a tribute to interest of that motor !
@@danielrobert7181 Nothing mythical about what a great outboard these were...Wish they could still be produced today...Too bad we didn't appreciate what we had back then!
Nice video,
Good to see the old ones in that condition and running !!
Thanks I'm keeping this one. By the I accidently deleted your last comment on my video yesterday didn't mean to sorry
No problem brother,
It happens...Lol
You got a very nice 1956 do you ever run it on a boat?
Yes, try to take it out on the lake every year, problem is no time to play !!
Retired now, hope to have more "time" to run my collection...
You know the story, the're aren't enough hours in the day,, summer is short and "life" gets in the way !!
VERY NICE Scott! I'd hold on to that one too. Can't wait to see the NOS '58.
I will, I'm tired working on them
I just got this one ( 1955 10 horse ) and also a 1966 6 horse from my uncle who past 4 years ago the 6 horse I was very pleased with now I gotta get the qd all set up : ps great video thanks
this motor is now for sale $400.00
Hey buddy random as heck but can I contact you for a couple questions? Thanks
Scott do you still have it or any of your old motors for sale?
@@andrewbowlin5766 No sorry all gone
Outboard Fun thanks Scott if ya know someone looking to part ways let me know I have a few of the old Johnson motors and love them. Hope all is well sir
Hey Scott since you sold out had to go get myself a 1954 QD-15 couldn’t resist lol.Hope all is well sir
hey man, Awesome looking Motor! I got the same one, but after i did my own fuel mix is real blueish smokey. I think that means too much oil, i saw you said 32-1 Oil mix, but I though it should be 24-1. Guess i'll redo my mix and try it out. Thanks man!
I now run all my motors at 40-1 with Quicksilver Premium Plus. that best oil I have seen
@@outboardfun3353 even on these older Motors? I read a lot of people saying that's dangerous for the older Motors.
Yes I know of people In this business doing this for 25yrs telling this is fine with that oil not some cheap shit
Yes
@@outboardfun3353 thanks! Happy boating!
Dandy motor! How do you find'em like that?
thanks dale
That one I found on craiglist, wait to see the next one I got coming.Scott
Just looking every day
What kind of fuel does it take?
I use 87 octane no lead at 32-1 oil to gas
Outboard Fun thank you I just bought mine but I have no instructions.
