    I was looking for a lightweight blower for my deck. ruclips.net/user/postUgkxgioZQl3J5wPGAeDINzbieKbT5qomSEx3 There are some huge trees around my house and the leaves and pods drop all over my deck. Having to move furniture around to sweep has become too big a chore. This blower was the answer. It is light enough for this 70yr old lady and powerful enough to blow all the tree droppings off my rather large deck. Thank you B&D. Be aware the cord is not included. I use a 3 prong outdoor cord 25' cord for my 12' x 20' deck. The cord retainer works very well, but don't try to pass the plug through it. That is NOT how it works. You just have to loop the cord and it works great. One of my best purchases. Very happy.

    Love Stihl tools but the 86 is not that great of a blower, excellent vac though! Also have a 525BX and a Makita BHX2501, both are fantastic blowers but I would give the edge to the 525BX just. Bang for the buck, the Makita is a great choice for a smaller budget!!

    Honestly ive had 2 of each of the stihl and echo blowers shown here, i really like the echo but both are very close. I wanted to like the stihl , as i love stihl chainsaws...(but even echo makes a good chainaw as well), but power wise the echo out performs the stihl slightly but noticeably nonetheless. Both were extremely reliable, the stihl i will say is more comfortable in hand and less bulky. Being i am a roofer, this was a huge benefit, but im saying overall, the echo ,even though more bulky, the bulkiness seems to add strength and durability to the blower, but 100 percent you cant go wrong w either. Husky i cant speak on however their chainsaws have felt cheaper than echoes and steal and had rattly plastic parts, that's my experience with them. If you want power and durability go with the echo if you want lightweight and comfort go with stihl!

    Your wrist test is not using the same parameters...Echo blower has round tube, Stihl has the flattened tube for higher velocity, which in turn would produce more 'wrist force' per your test string parameter!

    • @JanMaesOutdoorTraining
      @JanMaesOutdoorTraining  2 года назад +1

      Hi Sam, thank you for your comment. The round or Flat nozzle will not make any difference on the Stihl nor Husqvarna nor Echo. The fact that the nozzle isn't in line with the handle on the Stihl creates the stress on the wrist.

    • @vartikcsaba
      @vartikcsaba 2 года назад

      It's not about the magnitute of the force, but the direction of the force

    • @samwimpy2600
      @samwimpy2600 2 года назад

      I can see where having the blower tube off set from the handle would produce a moment (twisting force) around a fixed point, which would be where one holds it...hand/wrist! However, I think your test may be more indicative of shoulder stress rather than wrist stress b/c in your test set up...w/ the string simulating one's arm, the fixed point represents the shoulder. I may be splitting hairs here and the point is probably moot b/c whatever the force is...it seems to be negligible.
      I recently purchased the Echo PB-2620 b/c it was $50 less costly than the Stihl BG-86, but I returned it. One thing that I did notice about the Echo was that the blower tube seemed to be off set from the handle (it had the straight tube as opposed to the PB-2520 curved tube). The reason I returned it was that I didn't feel it ran that well, seemed to need a carburetor adjustment out of the box...just didn't seem to have adequate power.
      I used to own a Stihl BG-86 and was very pleased w/ it. However, once it finally wore out...I purchased a backpack blower. Being used to the power of a backpack blower now, my expectations of any had held blower are probably going to result in disappointment! LOL
      But, I like the convenience of a hand held blower for quick jobs like my garage, side walk, or back deck!
      Thank you for the video comparison...you do a nice job w/ it!

      @@JanMaesOutdoorTraining I believe your reply to Sam Wimpy shows your bias towards Echo. The round or flat nozzles DO make a difference! According to the PB-2620 owner's manual, the max air speed with the round nozzle is 172 mph and increases to 180 mph with the flat nozzle. In the Stihl owner's manual for the BG 86, it states the air velocity for the round nozzle is 154 mph and to 190 mph with the flat nozzle. On Husqvarna's website under product specifications for the 525BX, it states the air speed is 157 mph using the round nozzle and increases to 192 mph with the flat nozzle.

    I need a drop test though. Drop each of them off the roof of a house, approximately 15' should do it, and see which one still works.
    Pretty sure it would be the Stihl.
    That's been my experience in the past.
    Stihl is the only manufacturer that holds up to the kind of abuse that I put on my tools. In that regard, I save money by staying true to Stihl. I've got a shed full of broken Echo and Husqvarna tools.

      It's unfair wrist test to test the stihl with the narrow nozzle on, that creates a lot more blow and its going to have more pushback when hung on a string. Up until that point very good. I cannot see why you would change unless you are biased against the stihl.
