Several of those cars were built at Barris Kustom or bought by George Barris. My father ran the shop and I worked there with him back in the 70s. A lot of those "Show Cars" didn't really run and I spent quite a bit of time pushing them around the shop. The "Bathtub" car was one of them. The "Barber Shop" car was too. "The Monkees" car did run though. There were actually two of those, one of them was a knockoff that had a fake fiberglass "Super Charger" and the original had a real one.
I remember my dad and Godfather taking me to a Darryl Starbird, custom hot rod show in Oakland, California when I was a kid. I got and still have an autographed picture of Reggie Jackson’s Firebird.

Some folks are SO talented and skilled and creative.
I remember seeing the Monkeemobile when I was a kid. I was absolutely in love with that car. The Munster Coach was pretty awesome too.
These builders are so clever, just amazing
I wish I had that talent.
The ones with the bubble were the absolute best
