Definitely a spoof to hook the suckers. It was almost believable until they started describing the 2nd row seating and rear passenger area. And it was funny the whitewall tires on the drivers side and blackwalls on the passenger.
They used to call this a phantom design because it was never actually built by the manufacturer. A classic example would be a modern roadster pickup. But this VW is really nice.
Interesting, to say the least. Back in 2003, "VW Trends" magazine featured a build on a 'Beetle pick-up. Containing various parts of '60, '69, and '77 VW Bugs as well as a great deal of hand-fabrication, it was built by Rochester, NY resident Richard Guck. BEAUTIFUL project 'custom.
Totally cool Idea! BUT!! where does the Engine go? Or is there enough space under the bed for it? Maybe it could be front-engine-rear-drive? One possibility could be a Ford 1.0 Ecoboost; a Turbo-Charged Inline-3.
I was thinking the same thing, also noticed that there are no head rest which is required in all vehicles. How is the engine cooled with no front vent?
I had a 1959 bug. Ferried from Germany with a 6 volt battery. I almost got killed in it since the vehicle behind me could not see my blinkers. I took the ditch. I sold it afterwards because it was dangerous compared to modern cars. I drove it all through college.
Love the bug look mixed with a pickup bed. Sad that they did not bother to show you the bed & back, did not show the inside & did not show the engine. Fire the person taking the pictures.
VW is coming out with three pickups in 2025. Not shown here is the Amarok that is a 4 door model with optional 4WD and a 7700 lb. towing capacity. The model shown is the lowest level and may not be made for towing. The verbal description covers features of all 3 models but fails to show them, which is very confusing.
THIS IS GOOD CONCEPTUAL ENGINEERING AND I LIKE IT BUT YOU HAVE TO BUILD IT TO SUIT THE BUYER MARKET IN BULK YET USE THE OLD PROVEN TECHNIQUE ,"GIVE THE CUSTOMER WHAT THEY WANT AND THEY WILL BUY IT "! THIS HAS INTENSE POTENTIAL TO US OLD SCHOOL CROWD AND THE NEW ! AMERICA AND THE WORLD WANT THE MINI-TRUCK BACK AGAIN ! DON'T MISS THIS OPPORTUNITY FOLKS OR YOU ARE THE LOSER !!!😢
Back in the 70’s there were kits available to make the VW ‘truck’. Most were made of wood. No rear fenders. They had an air cooled rear engine that made 55hp. 90mph top end. 😅
I'd definitely buy this VW👍! All VW in the front, with total 50's Chevy pick up in the back. But with all the slow pong camera work in this video none of it showed the interior👎. I did like that old style shark fin over the trunk classic in the background though👌.
That sounds like a good idea, now we need two bottles of rootbeer schnapps, a trip to the scrap yard, cutting torches, lots of luck, patience, feminine understanding, and welding rods....lots and lots of welding rods.....I like it when a plan comes together and I can get out of the house to tinker 😮😅😊
It’s exactly a perfect blending of a 1937 Studebaker express pickup, a 1959/60 VW Beetle and a modern drivetrain. Could be pretty cool if it was a real thing but most likely way too expensive and of limited utility to sell many units.
What really pisses you off that they're not doing all this stuff that they keep advertising of the old classics some of them look pretty good and neat .
Love it, hope VW take your design to production. What I have read lately, VW group is in major problems. This may actually help them You should with your design contact them
I had a red 1961 Beetle and the nose of this beast is exactly that vehicle. Where does the engine sit in this fantasmic version? So, do I see AI having fun with humans? AI, please produce such a vehicle so humans can enjoy and praise your prowess!
This has to be front engine Rear-Wheel-Drive, (A turboed Inlline Six would be the besst choice.) the bed wouldn't work on any other configuration. And Front-Wheel-Drive would be an insult to this design considering the Heritage of the First Generation.
So many of these AI vehicles are not even possible as they are presented, but this i would buy. Beats the hell out of all the new pickup trucks that are trying to be Cadillacs and certainly not a good ol'work trucks! Yes, I'm going to pay $80,000 and have 1,000 lbs. of rock dumped in the bed.
The design is obviously AI. It's not clear or crisp enough to be a real photo of a concept car. It's just the snout of an old Beetle from the 50's paired to a late 40's/early 50's Ford cab and bed. Not to mention, the old Beetles were all air-cooled rear-engine cars, meaning the engine would sit in the bed, making it not only horribly efficient, but since the engine also made only 45hp, meaning it would barely even be able to pull this entire car along. The old Beetles only went 100 kph (62 MPH) unloaded at wide open throttle, meaning it would not be able to keep up on the interstate, where a lot of towing is done today.
If you could for one moment assume that there were any truth in this story, then tell me why the difference between the truck shown in the opening scene and the one shown at 50 seconds into the video.
Vw has gone to crap my 67 wagon and 69 van bothover 300kandrestoreed got van in 70 got 67wagon in 82 been all over Nevada Utah New mexico never a both1641 dual port heads mild cam break down
I like it. 😁👍 . . I want one for Christmas 🎄 🛻
They don't make any dummy.
A man can dream cant he.......couch surfers will always be jealous of dreamers, if your mom let you have your allowance you could dream too @@dalejohns2758
It's fake
MORE LIKE IT FOLKS !!!😊😊😊😊😊
Definitely a spoof to hook the suckers. It was almost believable until they started describing the 2nd row seating and rear passenger area. And it was funny the whitewall tires on the drivers side and blackwalls on the passenger.
Very true! And where would the radiator be? Is it air cooled. Then the engine would have to be in the bed 😅
They used to call this a phantom design because it was never actually built by the manufacturer. A classic example would be a modern roadster pickup. But this VW is really nice.
I want one. My Dad had three of them, and I love his old beetle. He sold it long ago. But I could use something like this!
❤😂🎉😅😊
Super cool
A PIECE OF BEAUITY ABOUT TIME SOME ONE GOT BACK TO REALITY
I agree with out interior photos this is just a AI generated video
Interesting, to say the least. Back in 2003, "VW Trends" magazine featured a build on a 'Beetle pick-up. Containing various parts of '60, '69, and '77 VW Bugs as well as a great deal of hand-fabrication, it was built by Rochester, NY resident Richard Guck. BEAUTIFUL project 'custom.
CUTE as hell!!!❤
There's to two tone paint job on that where do you see two tones
Tires
LOVE IT ... WANT ONE! 😍👍🏻🙋🏻♂
I’d buy one
A truck like this needs a manual transmission.
Why post lies and fake news. This is not being considered
The government does the fake news all the time........a little dreaming of what you want to do in life is not a bad idea
I guess you could call it wishful thinking satire.
I call it Bull $hit!!
Awesome fantastic this design like it would buy it Thank you, Steve

Beautiful, TX.

First and Foremost, Volkswagen is NOT making a Beetle Pickup! Never even crossed their mind! I've worked for Volkswagen in Marketing for 37 years.
In 1981thay build a Rabbit pickup
@Zzus321 I know, my high school girlfriend had one she drove to school a lot. It was her dad's
Yeah this ad is junk. 😂. It looks like a metal collector car from Danbury mint. 😆
yes I also owned a 1981 rabbit diesel pickup truck
VW truck from the 50's that never was.
I get a kick out of 2025 cars looking like the 50's undated a little lol
Amarock is the name of the 2025 VW pickup. It looks nothing like what's in the video.
Just another bogus video.
YES! Two tone paint???
if it looked like the car in the video, i'd buy one.
Their was a kit in 70s to make big a flat bed
There
Sweet they did a great job. The bad looks like an old Chevy. How much do you think it'll cost ?
where can you buy this - probably not in Canada
😮😮😮😮😮😮
I love ❤️ 😮😮this 🤩💖
Fender surf green color ! Like my Stratocaster. I want one !
Dream on.
Build it on the last turbo bug and I'll order one tomorrow!
Cool

Wow! Id get one!
How much cost for the base model ?
I drive that to work every day 😮
We will never see it on the lots.
I like it . 😊
Kinda oldstlye flare fenders. Love it
I want one, Awesome

I'll take one!
They should have put the 40 ford hood look. That would have really look nice then.
I would like one
I'd definitely buy this VW👍! All VW in the front, with total 50's Chevy pick up in the back. But with all the slow pong camera work in this video none of it showed the interior👎. I did like that old style shark fin over the trunk classic in the background though👌.
You could haul a lot of Beetlejuice with this puppy!
What is the tow capacity? Cindy 👋
Thats not what it looks like! that was kit in the 70's to transform your old bug into a pickup truck.
Back in the 70s their was a business had special bug pickups 4 of robens egg blue with ladders on the side in Philadelphia.
PUT A 350 UNDER THAT HOOD AN POZZY 373 GEARS THATS A TRUCK TO BE PROUD OF
Vai vim para o Brasil
NOT AVAILABLE IN THE US OR CAN...😢
Looks like a 1940 Ford Truck with a VW front End.
Had they ever actually produced these, even today they'd sell like hotcakes
It’s exactly a perfect blending of a 1937 Studebaker express pickup, a 1959/60 VW Beetle and a modern drivetrain. Could be pretty cool if it was a real thing but most likely way too expensive and of limited utility to sell many units.

6 minutes of BS ! Show me the real product , not this CLICK BAIT !!!

cost
More AI fiction
Love it...
Would be cool if it were an actual thing that Volkswagen would be manufacturing
Won't ever happen! I'll take one exactly like that if it ever happens? Can't make anything that nice ANYMORE?
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍😂.

It needs less hood and more grill.
Looks good from the back though
It would look better with wood on the sides and bed.
Plenty of toys for the haves while the other 2/3rds of America struggle to house and feed themselves.
😅 wow
If only it was real.....
Base price of $65K.
Is this real?
So many of these AI vehicles are not even possible as they are presented, but this i would buy. Beats the hell out of all the new pickup trucks that are trying to be Cadillacs and certainly not a good ol'work trucks! Yes, I'm going to pay $80,000 and have 1,000 lbs. of rock dumped in the bed.
VW = Very wild. 😂
I know you're an AI robot, but interesting.
I've Seen a few Custom VW Beetle Pick Ups 1:46
That rear view looks like a Chevy
If it actually looked like this it would be great, It doesn't.
People don’t see how fake this is? You don’t see the AI images constantly changing throughout the video?
Exactly what I'm thinking. You know how many different designs and pictures on this idea in videos. Everyone jumping on views.
"New grill design"? 😀
It looks good but I don't think it will catch on
Wish it was real
Click bait?
Damn that would be sweet. Too bad it will never be built. But there are custom shops that could create this.

Howabout a V6, I would like a V8 in my pickup. Never a 4 banger.
If you could for one moment assume that there were any truth in this story, then tell me why the difference between the truck shown in the opening scene and the one shown at 50 seconds into the video.
NEVER HAPPEN!
Yaada Yaada Yaada, show the engine and tell the cost. All this could have been done in 30 seconds with two views.
-What a crock of AI bullshit
Showing this vehicle, and talking about the new one that is, or has came out, with a 4 wheel drive and two tone paint options.
Ok, whatever.
But is this real?
Oh look! More AI bullshit.
No interior, engine, or bed pictures. So tired of fake videos
Fake , but wish it was real. I would sell my Maverick and buy this.
FAKE !!!!
Fake IA
So wheres the engine beetles have engine in back
Turbo charged big mistake.
