My job each Thanksgiving is roasting the turkey and making sausage dressing. I'm the only one in the family that doesn't like pumpkin pie or "pumpkin spice" anything. I'm going to try to find kitchen space for the galette.
Some like the tartness of Granny Smith while others prefer McGowans sweetness and full flavor. Macs can get to be too much like apple sauce when baked, while Delicious reds or yellows have an excessive sugar flavor that overpowers the apple flavor experience.. Cortlands are non descriptive in a pie. Excellent recipe that doesn't get in the way of baking with apples.
A lot of produce stalls in Farmer’s markets source produce from mass suppliers and represent it as from “the farm” :( This is especially common in urban areas at large markets.
@Caniblmolstr you’d actually be surprised. In my field (aerospace engineering) the imperial system is still the standard. Even some really weird units like BTU or Rankien are used. The reason it’s still like that is because things have been like that forever and it’s what people know. Nobody wants to have to dig through old NACA studies about airfoils and the standard atmosphere and convert to metric; that would be tons of work for no real reward.
What’s interesting I’m in the US and I use both. Grams are so much more accurate. Learned to weigh my food from the fitness world and metric from chemistry in school
@@charlies8282 I use the metric system a lot too. If you go the conversions often you get familiar enough to have a decent idea of the amounts without doing an actual conversion. It’s easy enough to convert precisely when needed.
@@DeaconOnTheAir Google does not help to convert from volume (cups) to weight (grams or ounces) - the result depends on how you pack the ingredients. A cup of flour can weight anything between 120 and 160 grams. The author of the video is the only one who could tell us the correct weight by weighting “his cup of flour”.

I HAVE A HUGEEEEE THING FOR YOUR HANDS/FINGERS.. JUST THOUGHT YOU SHOULD KNOW.
I hope all is well. I know this sounds weird but I have a message for from thy other side
My brother makes Apple Galette for Thanksgiving most years. Thank you so much for showing how very easy it would be for me to make for myself.
These apples are shinier than my future
😂🤣🤔😘‼️
I’m sure this was delicious but the crust really looked anemic without an egg wash.
Rustic and Autumnal... A true Applely delight! LOVE it 🍏🍎👌🏻✌🏻
So great to see you with sponsors now, amazing growth, proud of ya
Awesome video brother! Really simple concept without the pie tin. Love it!
Thank you for your work! I became a better cook since i' ve started watching your show! Greetings from germany
Seeing the galette handled with a pizza peel at the end makes me wonder if this could all be done on a pizza stone? I might give it a try.
This is the only channel I don't activate AdBlock on. Is so good!
Superb channel overall.

When is the cookbook coming out homie
Thank you for the video. Shout out to all you Arkansas Black Apple lovers out there. Best in my opinion
Your dough looks terrific.
i came here after a failed experiment with lard, defeated and humbled. I'm ready for a galette
I just made one of these last night! So easy weeknight dessert :)
I don't remember exactly, but I swear Ragusea was sponsored by Magic Spoon in his strawberry gallete video too.. hm
Just checked, it was SquareSpace, but he's definitely been sponsored by Magic Spoon before
I don’t think that’s a bad thing, I’m glad he’s getting sponsored
Plus similar style pie was made by Adam
Plenty of people have mate galettes on RUclips
@@mxmox no I didn’t mean as a bad thing at all. Just an observation :)
Looks easy.
Thank you.
So good Steve... When I make it I'll send pics. Happy Thanksgiving
Before putting the dough in the fridge, what texture should it have? Do I add as little water as possible?
You should add enough water for the dough to come together.
wowwww this looks so easy!! ima have to make this!
You deserve a lot more subs my guy....You're way better than those popular cringey-pseudo-chefs
who?
Damn, that cereal is $10 per box, thats insane!
I like the concept, for the amount of protein its sort of edging towards supplement territory as well. If it tastes good I'd repeat buy it.
Damn wish that magic spoon could ship to europe
Love making those! Yummy 😁
Cocoa Puffs 🤤🥣
Who tf has space in their fridge for a baking tray
A lot of foodies have two fridges. One for everyday and one for cooking and prep.
Not Another Cooking Show cookbook when

how did you get it from the "Farmers' market" from a FARMER because the apples are so shiny like they've been coated with wax?
they oiled it maybe, it's a common practice

I swear the US metric system is the most stupid thing in the world. 2.5 cups...an eight of an inch....This does not make any sense.
The tail doesn't wag the dog. The US doesn't give a f#@# what the rest of you use.

Nah, I don’t need to do that.

can the USA just please start finally using the metric system
obviously not his fault but I just feel like complaining
it's a struggle
