In Malaysia, 285 out of 711 species in Peninsular Malaysia are migrants (40 per cent), and 224 out of 632 species are migrants in Bornean Malaysia (35 per cent).
Just over 800 species have been recorded in Malaysia in total (both residents and migrants)
Malaysia is one of the East Asian-Australasian Flyway countries, with millions of migratory birds crossing over on their way from Siberia to Australia, to overwinter.
Many of these birds depend on the coastal wetlands for food and shelter during their migration.
Most birds migrate through Malaysia after the breeding season at the end of July. This, Bakewell says, would reach its peak around September to October. By November, they would've reached their destination down south.
Then, during the Spring or North migration, they return to Malaysia around end-February right through the middle of May before heading back to their breeding grounds up north.
One of the most famous migrations on the Malaysian calendar occurs around March, at Tanjung Tuan Melaka where birdwatchers and nature enthusiasts gather at Cape Rachado to observe birds of prey or raptors fly across Pulau Rupat in Sumatera to mainland Malaysia.
Thank you so much for your informative comment 🙏♥️
Congrats. Most tourists would miss that little gem at taman tugu. This vlog is rare..
We had missed that too but fortunately we have the best subscribers to tell us where this hidden gem is ♥️♥️ we love to see/visit real places with real people and not just tourists stuff.
@@dananna8614 if you have the time, take a trip to kuala selangor. Shoot at around 3pm to taman alam mangrove. Then to bukit melawati to visit historical site. Dinner at pasir penambang jetty. Finally, the firefly sanctuary. Its half a day itinerary

Both of you should try KL Forest Eco Park, just next to KL Tower. In your video @ 23:03...you asked about the fruits which you found on the ground. Its calls Buah Kabong (raw), which you bought at market in your last video
Maybe 😃

Love your active vibes 🥰🤗😇😎♥️
Thank you 🙏💪
If walking in a forest, do wear long loose light- coloured clothing. Long pants, long-sleeved shirt n a hat. This to avoid mosquitoes, and in case insects larvaes falling from the tree above. Also, to avoid scratches from loose branches.
We love to walk in shorts and t-shirts 😃
One more taman recommended is Taman titiwangsa ( not far from kampung baru ) good for evening walk
Thank you for your tips 🙏♥️

Perfect time👍
The pipe that sticks out from the slope is called earth drain. The function is to remove excessive underground water. If its not remove, slope erosion might occur.
Oh thank you for the explanation ♥️🙏

Never knew that Taman Tugu trails are this big, I went there but did not explored much like u guys..and the mosquitoes were brutal too😅 * "jejak pahlawan" means the warrior path 💪
Just have to walk faster than they fly 😃
Located close to Taman Tugu is the Tugu Negara (National Monument) and Asean Sculpture Garden. Both attractions are free to visit.
Thank you for your tips 👍♥️
at 26:18, that is the Asean Sculpture Garden
Incidentally, Taman Tugu means Monument Park.
Thank you 🙏
Was just there this morning! Nice jungle walk
Good for you, exercise in the morning is the best 👍💪
@@dananna8614 Also, it's nice under the shades. Still hot and humid of course...
Peaceful Greetings! I thought Anna is supposed to rest from hiking. Anyway, I wish you all health and life guidance.
This hike was earlier in may, I’m still recovering and exercising my knee 🙏👍 thank you for your concern ♥️♥️
Finally. one of my favourite place in KL
We can understand why ♥️
👍👍👍👍👍

🇲🇾♥️🇲🇾♥️
Hi DanAnna, there are a lot of hiking trail in KL like bukit gasing, bukit kiara, ketumbar Hill, FRIM (incl 50m Canopy Walk, you can witness a Tropical Trees phenomenon =Crown Shyness) The Seri Bintang Trail, Bukit Wawasan, etc2, you should see whats the review of each trail, then select some or all , then make a top 5 of the trail, I guess the combination of nature & modern urban intrigue many people & aside exploring the urban segment of the city, exploring the nature segment would complete your visits to KL.
Thank you so much for your tips 👍👍🙏
Bukit Kerinchi & Bukit broga (sunrise view)
It is meant to prevent soil erosion. The pipes sticking out allow inner water to flow out of the soil, which otherwise it will cause the soil to hold the water till the top soil collapse.
Thank you for explaining 🙏
Wow nice! I've never been there though. But if you are feeling more adventurous go to Taman Negara/National Park in the state of Pahang. You'll love the hike and the thick jungle. Unforgettable experience. :)
Thank you for your tips 🙏♥️
Also, there is a a cafe located near the Taman Tugu which is famous for its Fish Head Curry and Ayam Kampung (Village Chicken). The name of the cafe is "D' Tugu View"
Thank you for the information 🙏
@@dananna8614 you are most welcome
FRIM Kepong is more extensive forest. Can try there
Thank you 🙏
It's fresh KABUNG fruits that hasn't been processed...you have bought it at market first ,it's already processed
It’s those 😃 thank you. Going to buy new ones tomorrow, we finished the last ones today.
Anna are you ok, you don't walk too fast because 1st Hiking after injured. 👍🚶I just finished my hiking activity this morning.
This was a few weeks ago so it was here we realised that something is bad with the knee.
burn all the calories after eating a lot of delicious Malaysian food. Good one!
Perfect 👍
Up next, you guys should visiting Forest Research Institute Malaysia (FRIM) in Kepong. There is even a skywalk there.
Thank you for your tips, we love skywalk 🙏👍
@@dananna8614 no prob
The fruit is Kabung fruit which you bought for Anna's knees. You should have taken some home and extract the edible parts inside. You need to boil the entire fruit then dry it before cutting the fruit to get to the insides.
Thank you 🙏 we don’t have the kitchen for this. Going back to the market tomorrow to buy more kabung.
Food recommendation from me, one that is easy to find.
Go search for the closest branch of Richiamo, and try: (1) Salted Egg Yolk Croissant. Croissant is French definitely, but the filling is Asian. (2) Nasi with Ikan Patin Lemak Tempoyak. It's not the best "Patin Tempoyak" you can get at a restaurant, but it's good enough. (3) Nasi Putih with "Thai Style Prawn". Not all branch have this. Just ask. And if they don't sell it, try the other menus.
Thank you for your tips 👍👍
that s the fruit you bought at market that day buah kabung (arenga pinata) it is found in forest.
Thank you for your comment 🙏♥️
the concrete formation used to be part of the trail. eventually, a landslide occurred last year causing closure of the section for few weeks. they put slurry cement to prevent further erosion. your next hike is at Bukit Gasing
Thank you for your explanation 👍🇲🇾
Next would be broga hill
Thank you for your advice 🇲🇾🙏
Guys, whenever you see a "J" in Malay, it's always pronounced with the sound of J in the English word "jiggle" or the G in the English name "Geoffrey", rather than the English sound of Y.
I know that in Swedish, J sounds like English Y, like the Sweedish word "jord" is pronouned "yord".
And I know that the sound of English J is not present in Swedish language.
Maybe the closest approximation is tɕ like the Swedish word tjock.
Thank you for your explanation 👍
✌️😎✌️❤️🇲🇾
💪♥️🇲🇾💪
22:55 that is buah kabung....
Thank you 🙏👍
Tats a gd "garden-forest in the city" for middle rane-hiking..❤ it. How abt trying the "Taman Negara" our largest equitorial jungle( + National Park)in the state of Pahang ...the 2nd largest n olne of the oldest jungle in the World... After tat heads to the state of Melaka,+ dont forget to go the Sarawak & Sabah (East M'sia), Borneo. Try experience the mix of pure m'sian (eastern)-tribalistic culture+ lifestyle plus modern charms explunderings! Did u recognise the "kabung" trees while mesmerizing ur trail...its like in the asian storybk of "Hansel& Gretel"...❤❤😅😅❤❤❤ It!
Thank you for your kind comment and for your tips ♥️🇲🇾🙏
Nobody realized in the heart of the city there still are jungle survive there. Mostly tourist only expect a concrete jungle. Only in kuala lumpur.
So beautiful jungle to hike in
19:10 are they devushka? If yes hope they behave well & don't ever think to do some kind of special operation.
Thank you for watching
I lived in KL all my life and thought bukit nanas and bird park are the only small jungle here🤣🤣
Go to market and Taman Tugu 👍👍
18:28 those girls clearly used u guys as a human shield against the monkeys..😂
Haha yes they were so afraid of the monkeys.
monkeys do not afraid of women (esp. male). it is very difficult to get them rid. That's why they only moves when Dan was taking incharge...😅😅.
Thats the fact...i have a lot of them, behind my house.

Shame on you Dan, for walking so fast and left behind poor Anna all alone with the monkeys. What if the monkeys kidnapped your wife.... he he...
