Wow this video is so helpful and described exactly what’s going on with my puppy. I’ll have to try all the advice you’ve mentioned. Thank for posting this and hopefully my puppy will learn to listen.
We are so glad to hear that! We would love to have you join us! Here is the link to more information about our online course, 30 Days to Puppy Perfection: www.howtotrainadreamdog.com/puppy-perfection-course-learn-more/
Dogs bark for a lot of different reasons and depending on the situation. It is extremely important to get to the bottom of why the dog is barking. This video can help get you started. Stop Puppy Barking: ruclips.net/video/VcC8SMi0Y94/видео.html
Phone frequencies are super weird for dogs. we don't hear it but the sound quality is utter crap. A lot of very high harmonics and distortions. It could be a trigger.
Don't know if it will help you but here's what I did anyway: I thought my mini Schnauzer to bark on command. I got him warmed up with his basic commands during a session and then I teased him with treats without giving it. He tried everything he knew so far but he didn't get his reward. So he finally decided he'd bark. I marked, rewarded, and repeated until it sank in. I added a verbal cue and a visual cue and he could bark on command within the day. Then, when he'd bark for what I thought was no apparent reason, I'd just ignore it. I'd let him settle, then immediatly ask him to bark on command, I'd reward him. Within a few days, he figured out that barking on his own wasn't a very profitable venture. Now, when he's triggered, instead of barking, he checks with me if I noticed what HE noticed. I acknowledge him, he goes on about his activities. If I didn't notice the trigger, then he barks until I DO notice and immediatly stops... Obviously, him being a schnauzer, he's still very vocal with other dogs and during play but I can absolutely live with that and I actually like his voice. Maybe this will help you. Best of luck
We are getting a new puppy next month. We have a doggie door and would love a video on teaching him to use it. I realize in the beginning he'll be too small to push the flaps, but I'd like to get him used to it. TIA!
Doggie doors might seem like an easy solution to potty training, but in fact, it's not a great idea. With a doggie door, you lose control of the timing, and the ability to praise him for doing the right thing. It's also harder to see if the pup is having diarrhea or straining to pee to poo, which are signs of medical issues. Our best potty training tips and tricks can be found in this free kit. If you follow the great advice in this resource, you’ll be on the right track to an accident-free home! howtotrainadreamdog.com
I didn’t introduce doggy door until 6 months. (He was completely potty trained by 4 1/2 months.) He learned in a couple of brief sessions. I held the flaps open with a broom handle while throwing treats out. He’s crated when I’m not home. Only has access when I’m home. I have excellent vision of the whole yard at all times. Yard is fully fenced in with 1 year old 6 foot vinyl, gated, and gate is padlocked. He loves the independence but often brings things in and out that I have to fetch!
I keep yelling at my puppy cause she doesn't listen. I know if likely doesn't help at all, but she barks often.will not leave the cats alone, and keeps biting. I feel bad when I yell, but sometimes she stops barking when I do. This is incredibly difficult. I really don't like how much time and energy I have to put into making sure she is behaving properly. And trying to learn dog training is a whole other thing.
Puppy raising is a lot of work but once you get a few wins and learn how to work together, it gets easier! If you would like some more help, we can provide support and guidance at the PRO level of our course! www.howtotrainadreamdog.com/puppy-perfection-course-learn-more/
I am in the same situation at the moment! My 2-month-old golden retriever puppy always bites and chases my kittens, even when she pees 😭 in the house! She doesn’t listen to me at all!
I have a puppy who’s bite trigger is whenever I walk around anywhere no matter if I wear pants or no, and he won’t stop when I tell him no or offer him multiple chew toys he likes
Movement is often very exciting for a puppy. We can help you with that as part of our online course. www.howtotrainadreamdog.com/puppy-perfection-course-learn-more/
I have 2 puppies that are 2 months old…i hate how they keep dumping the water bowl, and rips the training pads…they understand “NO” but once i turn around they do it again! am frustrated that i feel like giving them away and they’re so cute
Two puppies are a lot of work! They are very curious and are still learning what you expect of them. We don't recommending using "no" and we also don't recommend pee pads. But we can help you with your struggles if you'd like! Check out our online course. The PRO level can guide you through the raising of littermates! www.howtotrainadreamdog.com/puppy-perfection-course-learn-more/
Omg the biting. It’s horrible. I have all Kinds of chew toys and redirect like crazy but she actually chooses to bite humans instead. It’s especially frustrating when it’s my 3 year old just sitting or standing still.
It can take hundreds of redirections before the dog starts to figure out what you’d like him/her to do! But with patience high and expectations low, you’ll get there! This video could be very helpful: ruclips.net/video/bujm1GZFOjY/видео.html
my 11 week old pup won’t go outside. ill take him to his spot and stand there for like 30-45 mins waiting for him to go and he’ll just beg to go inside and within 2 mins of being inside he relieves himself. how do i stop that?
We have a fabulous resource for potty training called the New Puppy Starter Kit. The bell training lesson is included! There’s a sample puppy schedule, as well as a potty training troubleshooting document that is 10 pages! If you’re struggling with potty training you’ll probably find what you’re looking for in this awesome resource. howtotrainadreamdog.com
I had no idea that Pam from The Office little sister is the Puppy Guru. Thank you for sharing your knowledge on how to train wonderful dogs & their owners.
Does anyone have any tips for someone who is exhausted after 2 months with a 4 month old cocker spaniel? He's brilliant 95% of the time, but that 5% for an exhausted mind is seriously hard to deal with and I want to avoid losing my temper with him because I know he's only a baby. But fatigue and months of broken sleep plus other life stresses is adding up and I'm going nuts! He'll also do pretty much everything we ask him to in the house, but outside he's too excited to focus. I assume that's normal though with everything being so new but again, tired head doesn't know what to do!
We might be able to help you best at the Pro-Level where you can submit photos and videos in our private student-only facebook group for our trainers to review and give feedback to. You can also have a back-and-forth conversation with them on one of the three zoom calls a week. Check it out here: www.howtotrainadreamdog.com/puppy-perfection-course-learn-more/

I like your content - Can you add content of barking dogs - extreme barking and uncontrollable barking - I have a toy poodle
Thank you for your feedback! We will make a note of your suggestion. Stay tuned!

Yes! My puppy is getting the point of biting/nibbling a toy. She will even stop herself and go run to get a toy to chew on then come back and play.
That's amazing!

Right here! howtotrainadreamdog.com
Work on environment and supervision
Yep! And training!
I have a question when crate training your puppy and you work, when you leave them in the crate while you are away do you cover the crate then also or leave it uncovered? Thank you
We recommend covering the crate and ALWAYS leaving the front and/or back uncovered for ventilation.
If I leave my crate covered my dog pulls the sheets through. So I just leave her crate not covered and she sleeps fine that way
We have an extremely tiny puppy mix, (chihuahua {mom maybe 8-10 lbs} & dachshund){dad}the "breeder"said she was 6weeks old.& That she'd been feeding her & siblings can dog food....I don't know if she was being honest because at less than 1bl. And as tiny as she is there's no way that she's as old as that lady says and I don't know how long I should let her cry in the crate I just want to snuggle her in bed and let her stop crying I know she misses her mom how long do they miss their parents?
